Josh Jock (03) goes flying through the air as he and Mark Fewster would get together off the restart of heat 1 in the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified. It would be round #6 of racing from the Airborne Speedway and it would be the Independence Weekend Spectacular presented by Riley Ford with the four main divisions in action the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified, Hartson Total Opening Renegades, Taylor Rental Street Stocks, and the Northern Blacktopping Limited Sportsman Modified. The first heat race would start off with a bang with Mark Fewster and Josh Jock getting together and coming to the green off a restart in the first heat of the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified. The other heat races on the night would be hotly contested with a couple of photo finishes with Tyler Irwin and Billy Thwaits in the third heat of the Renegades. Then it would be onto the features for the night and the first out of the box would be the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified for there 25 lap event and it would see all 25 laps go green to checkered as Jonathan Toohill would get the win after leading all of the laps. Although the win would not come easy as he would have Chris Cayea all over him for most of the race just couldn't get around him and Craig Wholey would round out the top 3. Next up would be the Hartson Total Opening Renegades and as they were under the pace laps mother nature would open up and the rain would knock out the rest of the night's racing. The track will be back in action next Saturday night July 8th for another night of weekly racing and the 358 Modifieds will be in action as well. Gallery
