The Ephs would take the quick 1-0 lead on Craig Kitto's goal just 1:17 into the first period. Then the Ephs would extend the lead to 2-0 Dan Doherty's goal at 9:23 of the first period. Then at the 12:38 mark of the first period, Craig Kitto would get his second of the night to make it 3-0 Ephs after the first period. Then at the 3:42 mark of the second period, the Ephs would pick up where they left off and Craig Kitto would finish off the hat trick to make 4-0 Ephs. Then at the 7:11 mark of the second period, David Itlianio would make it 5-0 Ephs. Then finally at 14:32 mark of the second period, the Cardinals would get on the board with Patrick Hermans to make it 5-1 Ephs. Although before the period ended the Ephs would regain the five-goal lead at 6-1 on Greg Johnson's goal. In the final period, the Cardinals would try to make a game of it as Patrick Hermans would score twice to make it 6-3 and finish of the hat trick.
