The game would start off good for the visiting Red Raiders as they would get the opening goal from Megs Wilmshurst 46 seconds into the game. Although the Hornets would keep the fight up and tie the game at 1 on Ada Johnson's goal at the 6:17 mark of the first period. The game would stay there til the 5:53 mark of the second period when the Red Raiders would regain the lead on the Hannah Chilton goal. Although it would be short-lived as the Hornets would tie it up at 2 90 seconds later on the Avery Holland goal. Although once again the Red Raiders would get the lead back on a goal at the 6:29 mark of the third period to make it 3-2. Once again the Hornets would tie the game up at three with 90 seconds left in regulation on the Gillan Boule goal to force. Plattsburgh Ethan Kay (#2) celebrates with teammates Brandt Clarke, Hayden Colburn, and Jace Lacey after scoring a powerplay goal to tie the game against Kenmore East en route to a 4-2 win for the Hornets. The Plattsburgh High School boys hockey team capitalized on power-play opportunities Saturday to earn its first win of the season, victorious by a score of 4-2 over Kenmore East at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena. The Hornets faced an uphill battle after falling behind 2-0 in the first period despite outshooting the Bulldogs 13-9, but they took advantage of their opportunities to pull it back. Late in the second period, Kenmore Easts Bryan Crispin and Tyler Laporta were called for holding and slashing, respectively, to give Plattsburgh a minute-long 5-on-3 opportunity, and it only took 18 seconds for defenseman Ethan Vaughn to find the back of the net. Exactly 30 seconds after Vaughn scored the first goal of the season for the Hornets, Ethan Kay took advantage of the continuation of the powerplay with a slapshot from the point, tying the game 2-2 in the final minute of the second period. Plattsburgh continued that strong play in the third period, outshooting the Bulldogs 14-6 in the final 15 minutes and scoring twice on three power-play opportunities to earn the 4-2 win. Gallery.

It would be a game between evenly matched teams. The visiting Cadets would get the opening goal of the game from DJ Pauley at the 3:32 mark of the first period to make it 1-0 Lasalle. That would be the only goal of the first period and there would be no scoring in the second period. Then in the third period, Lasalle would extend there lead to 2-0 on the Brendan White goal at the 3:01 mark of the period. The Cadets would get an empty netter late for the 3-0 victory. In the winning effort, Lasalle's Caleb Ellis would make 22 stops for the shutout. In losing Jon Dublanyk would make 26 saves as the Hornets fall to 0-1 on the season. Gallery.

Plattsburgh's Amanda Vaughan (23) on the doorstep looking for the game-winning goal. The Plattsburgh Hornets would host Saranac Lake/Lake Placid in the Upstate New York Girls Hockey League action. It would be game at would pit two evenly matched teams. As there would be no goals through the first period. The first goal of the game would eventually come at the 5:18 mark of the second period when Saranac Lake/Lake Placid's Dariana Patterson would score to make it 1-0. That would almost be the lone goal of the game until Plattsburgh's McKenzie Brown would score with just over three minutes left in the game to tie it at one. The teams would end up in the overtime and in that overtime, Saranac Lake/Lake Placid's Rylee Preston would get the winner on the scramble in front halfway through the game to give the 2-1 win. In the winning effort, Saranac Lake/Lake Placid would go to 1-0-1 while the Plattsburgh Hornets fall to 5-1 on the season. Gallery.

The Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Malone Huskies in an early-season Upstate New York Hockey League game. The game would start off good as the Hornets would get the quick 1-0 lead seven seconds into the game on the Avery Holland goal. Although the Huskies would answer right back at the 35-second mark on the Whitney St. Hillaire goal to make it 1-1. The game would stay there till midway through the second period when Reylyn Giroux would score for the Hornets to make it 2-1. Then at the 4:30 mark of the third period, the Hornets would double there lead on the Gillian Boule goal to make it 3-1. Although the Huskies would answer right back seventeen seconds later on the Alyx St. Hillaire goal to make it 3-2. Then at the nine-minute mark the Hornets would regain the two-goal lead at 4-2 on the Mckenzie Brown goal. Then in the final minute, the Hornets would add an empty netter from Reylyn Giroux her second of the game to secure the 5-2 win. It wouldn't just be the last week of Champlain Valley Athletic Conference regular season but the last game and it would feature the Plattsburgh Hornets and Saranac Chiefs. Defense would be the name of the game in the first half as neither team would be able to get the ball in endzone. The Hornets would eventual get on the board and take the 7-0 lead on the Javon Carpenter 30 yard pass 3:30 into the third quarter. The Hornets would extent there lead to 14-0 on the Dylan Garranrt 54 yard pass one minute into the fourth quarter. The Chiefs would cut the lead in half with just under five minutes left in the fourth on the seven yard pass to Justin Bedard to make 14-6. That would be all the scoring as the Hornets would hold onto the win and go to 3-4 on the season while the Chiefs fall to 3-4. The playoffs start next week and the Plattsburgh Hornets will travel to Peru for the Indians in the Class B Semifinals while the Chiefs will travel to Saranac Lake and play Red Storm. Gallery

#3 Plattsburgh Hornets Vs #1 Beekmantown Eagles - November 2nd 2019

The Beekmantown Eagles pose for there team photo as they are crowned the 2019 Section VII Class B champions. It would be a battle of crosstown rivals as the Beekmantown Eagles matchup with the Plattsburgh Hornets in the Section VII Class B Championships. The Hornets would take the 7-0 lead 4 minutes into the game on a 4 yard run by Ian Detuello. The Eagles would fight back to tie the game up at 7 on nine yard run by Kaden Myers two minutes into the second quarter. The Eagles would take the 14-7 lead 3 minutes into the third quarter on Kaden Myers 49 yard run. The Hornets would tie the game back up at 14 on a 54 yard pass to Ian Detulleo at the six minute mark of the third quarter. The Eagles would regain the lead at 21-13 as Kaden Myers would score for the third time on six yard run with three minutes left in the third quarter. The Hornets would answer right back with a nine yard run by Ian Detuello for his third score of the game at 21-19 with a minute left in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter though the Eagles would put the game away with two scores by Dave Dion and Kaden Myers to secure the 34-19. In the winning effort the Beekmantown Eagles go to 6-2 and have a matchup with the Potsdam Sandstoners in the New York State High School Class B Playoffs while the Hornets season comes to end at 4-5. #3 Plattsburgh Hornets @ #2 Peru Indians - October 25th 2019

Plattsburgh's Ian Detuello (2) fends off Peru's Gavin Padron (30) with the stiff arm as he balances down the sidelines. It would be the semi-finals of the New York State Section VII Class B and the #3 Plattsburgh Hotnets travel to the #2 Peru Indians. The Indians would take the 3-0 lead on the first drive of the game with a 24 yard yard field goal by Keegan Smith. The game would stay there till 2:30 left in the half when the Indians would add another field goal from Keegan Smith this time 32 yards for the 6-0 lead as they head to the break. When the teams came out for the second it would be the tail of two halves as the Hornets offense would open up with a 27 yard pass touchdown to Ian Detuelleo to give the Hornets the 7-6 lead five minutes into the half. Then just 2:30 minutes later the Hornets would strike again on the ten yard run by Javon Carpenter for the 14-6 lead. From there on the defenses would be a wall and there would be no scoring. With that be said the Plattsburgh Hornets would get the 14-6 over the Peru Indians and both teams go to 4-4 on the season while the Hornets head to the sectional championship against the Beekmantown Eagles.
