NYSPHSAA Boy's Hockey: Bellows Free Academy Bobwhites @ Beekmantown Eagles January 28th 2025

It would be an interstate matchup at the Plattsburgh State Fieldhouse as the Beekmatown Eagles would host the Bellows Free Academy from Vermont on their senior night and the next-to-last game of their regular season. Bellows Free Academy would get the quick lead in the game, just 2:50 in on the William Schrienderfer goal. The game would stay there till the 8:39 mark of the period when the Eagles would tie the game up at one on the Evan Bruyette power-play goal on the wrister from just inside the blue line. The Bobwhites would strike again, though, with just 11 seconds left in the period, on William Schriendorfer's second goal of the game for the 2-1 lead at the first. The Eagles would quickly respond in the second period, just 43 seconds in, when Edward Sweenor would tie the game at two, and that would be the lone goal of the middle period. The Bowhites would regain the one-goal lead at 3-2 at the 9:25 mark of the period when Brody Tatro would score. The Eagles would keep fighting, and with just 1:42 left in the game, Edward Sweenor would strike again for his second of the game, tying the game at three, and that's where regulation would end. They would then play a five-minute overtime. Both teams would have their chances to get the game winner, but the goalies were up to the task, and the game would end tied at three. Jack Bell for the Eagles would make 31 saves on the night as they go to 11-6-2 on the season as they head into the regular season finale against the Saranac Spartans Saturday night. As for Bellows Free Academy, Zachary Merchand would make 34 saves as they go to 7-7-3 on the season. Gallery

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Hockey: Saranac Lake-Lake Placid Lakers @ Beekmantown Eagles February 6th 2026

Beekmantown's Jake Rover (21) with the open ice hit on Saranac Lake-Lake Placid Lakers Ayden McCormick (10) and jars the puck loose. It would be the battle of the top two teams in Section VII Boys' Hockey as the Beekmantown Eagles would host the Saranac Lake/Lake Placid Lakers, with the winners taking over first place in the standings as they come down the stretch. The Eagles would take the 1-0 lead just 6:18 into the game when Pryce Parker would find the back of the net. There would be 2:45 left in the first period, and a hit would send an Eagle into the glass, shattering it and delaying the game for around 45 minutes. The teams would come back, finish the period, and play the second period, with no scoring, as both teams had their chances but couldn't light the lamp. The game would enter the third period when the Eagles would extend their lead to 2-0 at the 12:45 mark on Pryce Parker's second of the night. Then, just over two minutes later, the Eagles would extend the lead to 3-0. The Lakers would get on the board in a span of 36 seconds from Braden Harvey and Ayden McCormick to make it a 3-2 game in the final minute, but the Eagles would add the empty netter from Pryce Parker to secure the 4-2 victory. In the winning effort, Jake Bell made 20 saves as the Eagles went to 8-6-1 on the season. As for the Saranac Lake/Lake Placid Lakers, they would fall to 7-8-1 as Scottie Nicholas would make 35 saves on the night. Gallery

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Hockey Hannah's Hope: Plattsburgh Hornets @ Beekmantown Eagles January 29th 2026

Plattsburgh's Owen Chapple (72) with the paddle save on Beekmantown's Edward Sweenor (56) for one of his 56 saves on the night. It would be the 12th edition of the Hannah Hope game at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena, as the Beekmantown Eagles would host the Plattsburgh Hornets, with around 1,000 fans in attendance, all there for a good cause and hockey. The Eagles would waste little time in getting the opening goal of the game. Pryce Parker would knock a rebound past Plattsburgh's Owen Chapple for the 1-0 Eagles lead. The game would stay there all the way to the 3:13 mark of the 2nd period when Sam Bezio for the Hornets would beat Jack Bell and tie the game at one. From there, the teams would go back and forth for the next two periods, with both teams having their chance to score the go-ahead goal. Still, they couldn't get it online. The game would end in overtime, and in that overtime, Beekmantown's Pryce Parker would beat Plattsburgh's Owen Chapple with a goal on the short side as there were just five seconds on the clock. In the Eagles' effort, Jack Bell made 25 saves as they improved to 6-6-1 on the season, heading to Champlain on Tuesday to take on the Northeastern Clinton Cougars. As for the Plattsburgh Hornets, Owen Chapple would make 56 saves as they fall to 7-5-2 as they head into their game against Saranac Lake/Lake Placid. Gallery

High School Boy's Hockey: Middlebury Union Tigers @ Saranac Spartans January 10th 2026

Saranac's Brady Macomber (4) scored the game-tying goal with just over a minute left, sending the game to overtime. It would be an interstate contest, as the Saranac Spartans would host the Middlebury Union Tigers from Vermont at the American North Arena as part of the state 2026 portion of their schedule. The Tigers would answer the bell just 38 seconds into the game on Evan Northrup's goal. The game would stay there for the rest of the period. The Tigers would extend their lead to 2-0 on Ethan Mulcahy's goal at the 1:22 mark of the second period. The Spartans would answer back at the 2:52 mark of the second period on the Gabe Moore goal. The Tigers would regain their two-goal lead just 13 seconds later on the Asa Root Pratt to make it 3-1. The Spartans kept coming, and at the 6:05 mark of the second period, Robbie Squier scored to make it a 3-2 game. The Tigers would once again retake the two-goal lead at 4-2 at the 8:12 mark of the period, when Asa Root Pratt would get his second goal of the game. In the third period, the Spartans would come out shooting and, once again, make it a one-goal game at 4-3 just 1:26 in on the Zane Vaughn goal. Then, at the 7:32 mark of the period, the Spartans would tie it for the first time in the afternoon on the Adrian Barnes goal. Aiddlebury would answer with 3:14 left in the game on the Tyler Munson goal. Although the Spartans wouldn't go quietly, they would once again tie the game at four on the Brady Macomber goal. The teams would head to overtime, and two minutes in, the Tigers would get the game-winner from Gabe Quesnel to secure the 5-4 win. In the winning effort, the Tigers would go to 5-3 on the season as TJ Baron made 39 saves. As for the Spartans, they combined for 18 saves, but fell to 1-6 on the season. Gallery

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Hockey: Northeastern Clinton Cougars @ Beekmantown Eagles January 6th 2026

Beekmantown's Edward Sweenor (56) with the tip near the net that he puts high over Northeastern Clinton's Greyson LaFountain (1) as they get the 4-2 victory. It would be the first game of 2026 for both the Northeastern Clinton Cougars and the Beekmantown Eagles, and they would face off at the Plattsburgh State Field House in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference action. The game would remain scoreless until the final two seconds of the opening period, when Sullivan Loughan would light the lamp and make it a 1-0 game. The game would stay there until the 8:26 mark of the second period, when Jacoby Weeden would score on the power play and make it 2-0 Eagles. The Cougars kept coming and cut the deficit in half at 2-1 on the Josh Seymour goal with 1:41 left in the period. The Eagles would come out flying in the third, and they would regain the two-goal lead at 3-1 on the Ivan Roy goal at the 3:44 mark of the third. The Cougars would come back and make it a one-goal game again at the 8:12 mark of the period on the Scott Wyre goal. The Eagles would have one more answer and make it a two-goal game again at 4-2 on the Edward Sweenor goal at the 13:28 mark of the third. From there, the Eagles' defense would stand tall and get the 4-2 win, and in the winning effort, Jack Bell would have 23 saves on the night and arecordhis 1,000th career save as they go to 3-4-1. As for the Cougars, Greyson LaFountain made 21 saves on the night as they fell to 1-6 on the season. Gallery
