Beekmantown's Keegan Rodier (15) and Rye's Brian Curran (7) go-to shoulder to shoulder through the zone as they battle after the puck. It would be the last game of the Applebees Winter Classic and the host Beekmantown Eagles would take on the Rye Garnets. The game would start off good for the home Eagles as they would get the opening goal of the game just 34 seconds in from (19) for the quick 1-0 lead. The game would stay there till the ten-minute mark of the period when Beekmantown's Reid Fessette would score to extend their lead to 2-0. When the teams came back for the second period the Garnets would find their offense and get on the board at the three-minute mark when Dempsey Brown would find the net to make it a 2-1 game, Then just 54 seconds later the Garnets would score again to tie the game at two on the Henry Bagley goal. The Garnets would keep fighting and actually get the lead at the 9:21 mark of the period on the Tommy Greenhaw goal. When the teams returned for the third period the Garnets would waste little time expanding their lead to 4-2 on Tommy Greenhaw's second goal of the game. Then just two minutes later the Garnets would strike again to make it a 5-2 game on Henry Bagley second of the night. The Eagles would strike back quickly just 60 seconds later to make it 5-3 and keep interesting down the stretch. Although they wouldn't get any closer as the Garnets would be too much on the day and get empty netter late and secure the 6-3 win. In the winning effort, the Rye Garnet would secure the 2021 Applebees Winter Classic title while the Beekmantown Eagles go to 2-2 on the season. Gallery
