PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. — The Seton Catholic Knights broke open a scoreless match in the second half, scoring four goals in 12 minutes to earn a 4-0 victory over the Boquet Valley Griffins in NYSPHSAA Section VII boys' soccer action. The contest remained deadlocked through the opening 40 minutes as both teams battled for possession and defensive positioning. Boquet Valley, entering the match with a 0-8 record, held firm throughout the first half and kept the Knights off the scoreboard despite several Seton Catholic opportunities. After halftime, Seton Catholic found its rhythm offensively. The Knights finally broke through in the 52nd minute to take a 1-0 lead and gain momentum. They added a second goal in the 61st minute, then erupted for two more in quick succession in the 63rd and 64th minutes to put the match out of reach. The victory improves Seton Catholic to 4-6 on the season, while Boquet Valley falls to 0-9. Seton Catholic's defense preserved the shutout as the Knights controlled play for much of the second half and capitalized on scoring chances when it mattered most. The Knights will return to action on October 12 when they host the Saranac Lake Red Storm. Boquet Valley will also face Saranac Lake on October 13. Gallery
