Preston Forbes (45R) and Carey Terrance (66) battle for the win in the second twin 20 at Memorial Cup as Terrance was going for the sweep on the night but it would end with Forbes getting his first-ever 358 Modified win. It would be the second week of racing at the Mohawk International Raceway and it would be time for the Memorial Cup presented by Frenchie's Chevy that would see twin 20s with the side panels for the small block modifieds along with regular racing in the other divisions on the night with 74 cars in the pits. Racing would start about an hour late as there would be a pesty rain about when we were supposed to start, but when the cars got out, it made for a fast track. There would be great racing throughout the night. After the heat races were done it would be onto the main and first out of the box would be the small block modifieds in their first of the twin 20's and it would see Carey Terrance go wire to wire for the victory but Tyler Meeks and Preston Forbes would finish out the top three with a good fight. Then we would have the Limited Sportsman Modified for their 15-lap main and it would see Kyle Reif get his first-ever win but there would be a great fight up front most of the race between him and Kobe Hernandez as they went after the win and finishing the top three would be Bryan Tarbell. Then it would be onto the Sportsman Modified 25 lap main and we would have a family affair fight at the top between the Gauvreau's as it would be father and son Cedric and Eric going after the win and on this day the son Cedric would get the win. and Tristan Ladouceur would round out the top three. Then we would have the second twin 20 for the small block modifieds and this time there would be a side-by-side battle up front between Carey Terrance and Preston Forbes and this time the win would go to Preston Forbes for his first-ever 358 Modified career win and there would be excited and emotional victory lane. and rounding out the top three would be Jordan McCreaddie. Then it would be onto the Pro Stock 20 lap main and with a late race caution it would set up a great finish as they would come across the line three wide and getting the win by a bumper would be Dakota Sharp for his first career win over Burton Ward and Sid Harmer. Then it would be onto the last race of the night for 10 laps in the mini stock division and would see a battle up front between Francis White and Tony Frezzo and on this day the win would go to Tony Frezzo. The track will return to life next Saturday night with all five divisions in action again on Three Feathers Cafe night n June 1st. Gallery
