It would be the first round of the New York State Class B Football championships and would feature the Beekmantown Eagles and the Potsdam Sandstoners. It would take til near the end of the first quarter when we would get the first score of the game from Potsdam's Will Varney on a 1 yard run with a 1:40 left and make it 6-0. The Sandstoners would strike again 11 seconds later after they recovered the onside kick and scoring on a 40 yard run to make it 12-0. Then with 1:40 left in the first half the Sandstoners Will Varney would score again on a 2 yard run to make it 18-0 at the intermission. When the teams came back for the second half the Eagles would still not have answer for the Sandstoners. In the third quarter the Sandstoners would score two more times in the third quarter one by Will Varney and Bobby Voss for the 30-0 Sandstoners win. In the winning effort the Potsdam Sandstoners go to 8-2 and advance to the quarterfinals while the Beekmantown Eagles season comes to an end 6-3. Gallery
