In-game one of the doubleheader, the Miners would take a 2-0 lead after the second. The Padres would answer back with one in third but the Miners would get three in the bottom to have the 5-1 lead. Then in the fourth, the Miners would get two more for the 7-1 lead. The Padres would try to make the late-game comeback but it just comes up short getting four runs in the last two innings for the 7-5 Miners win. In the winning effort, Justin Besaw would strike out four. In-game the Padres would just have no answers for the Miners as they would get 9 unanswered runs in the first six innings.
