The Larries would hold the early slim lead 12-11 after the first quarter. In the second quarter In the second quarter, the Sentinels would take control with a 15-9 quarter and have a 26-21 lead at the half. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Sentinels would have another 15-9 quarter for the 41-30 lead. In the fourth, the Sentinels would keep the paddle down as they would win the quarter 17-10 and secure the 58-40 victory. In the second quarter, the game would remain tight as Ticonderoga wins the quarter 17-14 to have a 28-25 lead at the half. In the third quarter, The Bobcats would win it slightly 10-9 but still trail 37-35 heading to the fourth. In the fourth quarter, Ticonderoga would pull away and win the quarter 14-8 and get the 51-43 victory. It would be the second week of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference football season and it would feature the Ausable Valley Patriots and the Ticonderoga Sentenials. It would be a match up to very evenly matched teams in a contest that would come down to what team could push it across first. The lone score of the game would come with 7:26 left in the fourth quarter when Justyn Granger would break through the line four the nine-yard score. In the winning effort, the Ticonderoga Sentinels would improve to 2-0 while the Ausable Valley Patriots would fall to 0-2 on the season. Gallery.

Saranac Chiefs @ Plattsburgh Hornets September 2nd 2016

Plattsburgh's Jason Moore (4) with the catch in stride for the big gain along the sidelines. It would be the opening night of the Champlain Valley football season as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Saranac Chiefs. The Hornets would get the first score of the game on a 2 yard run by Brady Pennington to make it 6-0 at the 7:30 mark . The Hornets would extend there lead to 12-0 a 31-yard interception return Harney just 38 seconds later. The Hornets would extend there lead to 18-0 on a 33-yard touchdown reception by Ben Champagne and take that 18-0 lead into the intermission. The game would stay there till 36 seconds of the fourth quarter when Mitch Senecal would score on the QB sneak to make it 25-0 Hornets. Then in the closing minutes of the game, Jason Moore would score on a 52-yard bomb to secure the 33-0 victory. In the winning effort, the Hornets would break a 29 game losing streak and start the season at 1-0 as the Saranac Chiefs fall to 0-1 to start the season. Gallery.

In the fourth, the Sentinels would try and keep it close but the Knights would win the quarter 15-12 and win the game 51-41. Saranac's Lance Hackett (8) with the diving catch in the end zone for the touchdown. The Saranac Chiefs would host the Ticonderoga Sentinels in Champlain Valley football. Ticonderoga would get the open score in the first quarter to make it 8-0. The Chiefs would score in the 2nd quarter on Lance Hackets Touchdown reception and would go into the locker room at 8-6. Then in the second half the Sentinels offense would wake up and put up 24 points and the Chiefs would get a late score to make it a 34-12 final. With the lose the Chiefs falls to 2-4 on the season as they head into the regular-season finale against the Saranac Lake Red Storm. Gallery
