It would be week 6 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference and it would be the classic rivalry as the Peru Nighthawks would host the Beekmantown Eagles. It would take long for the first score of the game as the Nighthawks would score in the first minute of a 57-yard quarterback keeper as Zach O'Connell would keep it for the score and 7-0 lead. It would only be a minute and a half later and the Nighthawks would double up their lead on a 17-yard pass to Keegan Smith to make it 14-0. The game would stay there till there were four minutes left in the half when the Eagles would cut the deficit in half at 14-7 on the 30-yard pass to Peyton Viau. Although the Nighthawks wouldn't want to be outdone as they would score in the closing seconds of the half as Keegan Smith would get his second score of the game to make it 21-7 at the half. In the second half, both of the defenses would step up their games and there would be just one score. As Peru's Keegan Smith would get his third score of the game this time on the ground for 8 yards and secure the 28-7 victory. In the winning effort, the Nighthawks go to 5-1 and will finish off their season at Saranac Lake next week. While the Eagles fall to 1-5 on the season and finish of there season next week against Ticonderoga.

Beekmantown's Trent Trahan (20) with bodycheck on Plattsburgh's Hayden Colburn (16) that takes him right to the ice. It would be the start of the final week of the regular season in the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Hockey season as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Beekmantown Eagles at the Amer-can North Sports Center. The game would be tight through the first half of the first period until DJ Gonyo would light the lamp at the 8:48 mark of the period on the powerplay for the 1-0 lead. Then just outside the five-minute mark of the first period, the Eagles would strike again on special teams this time from Dalton Kane on the shorthand goal for the 2-0 lead. Then at the 6:39 mark of the second period, the Hornets would get on the board and cut the lead in half a 2-1 on the Knowles goal. The Hornets would waste time getting the equalizer just 90 seconds later on the Colburn goal. Although the Eagles would answer back again on special teams with the Burdo goal with 2:15 left in the second period to regain the 3-2 lead. That's where the game would be as they entered the third period and in that period when the Eagles Sweenor would score on the powerplay to make it 4-2 just two minutes into the period. Then with just under 6 minutes to go in the game the Eagles would make it 6-2 once again on the powerplay this time the goal would go to Tetreault goal for the 5-2 victory. In the winning effort, Riley Hansen would make 22 stops as they go to 6-3-2 and Plattsburgh's Calkins would make 19 saves as they fall to 0-11 on the season.Gallery.

Plattsburgh's Dylan Crowley (10) with the jumper from the arc over the Beekmantown defender for the score. It would be another classic rival game as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the crosstown Beekmantown Eagles at the high school gymnasium. The Eagles would get off to a flying start and take a 19-10 advantage through the first quarter. In the second quarter, it would be a moe eventually match defensive quarter as the Eagles would win the quarter 9-8 and take a 28-18 lead into intermission. When the teams came back from the break the Eagles would be hammer down and expand the lead and start to but the game away with a 14-5 quarter and have a 42-23 lead into the final stanza. In the final stanza, the Hornets would do their best to stay with the Eagles but that's all they could do as they would win the quarter 11-10 but the win would go to the Eagles at 53-33. In a losing effort, Liam Perkins for the Hornets would lead all scorers with fifteen points. Next up for the Hornets would be a road tilt against Northeastern Clinton while the Eagles also will have their next game against Northeastern Clinton but not till Friday, March 12th. Gallery

It would be the middle game of a three-game series between crosstown rivals as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Beekmantown Eagles. The Eagles would strike first at the 3:19 mark of the first period on the Robert Tetreault goal. Then just over two minutes later the Eagles would light the lamp again and extend their lead to 2-0 on the powerplay goal from Dalton Kane. Then with just over four minutes left in the first period, the Eagles would strike again for their second powerplay goal this time from DJ Gonyo, and take the 3-0 lead into the first intermission. When the teams came back for the second period the Hornets wouldn't waste time in getting back in the game and making it a 3-1 game on the Jace Lacey goal. Then at the five-minute mark of the second period, the Eagles would extend their lead back to three on the Cooper Burdo 4 on 4 goals. That would be all the scoring throughout the game as there would be no scoring in the third period as the Eagles get the 4-1 victory. In the winning effort for the Eagles, Riley Hansen would make 25 saves as they go to 3-2 on the season while the Hornets fall to 1-4 on the season.Gallery.

A full regulation game and two overtimes were insufficient to separate the Plattsburgh Hornets and Beekmantown Eagles in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference boys soccer on Halloween. A game that saw both teams generate many scoring opportunities ended in a 1-1 draw in Beekmantown. The action began quickly, as Beekmantown's Zachary Dubrey scored just 20 seconds after kickoff off an assist from Dalton Kane. The Hornets responded quickly, tying the score just 4 minutes later with a free kick by senior Ryan Kavanaugh. PHS nearly took the lead a minute later, as junior Jack Ferris saw his close-range shot stopped by the Eagles' starting goalkeeper, Rocco Golden. The Hornets enjoyed most of the possession in the first half, helped in part by the fact that they were attacking with the wind at their backs, but the Eagles had their fair share of opportunities on the counterattack. In the 29th minute, a PHS corner was cleared by the Beekmantown defense and the ball fell to Dubrey near midfield. Dubrey beat two defenders en route to the goal, forcing a diving save out of goalkeeper Jackson Ryan. Just two minutes later, a long ball up the field by the Eagles turned into another chance, as Dubrey used his speed to win the race to the ball and get a shot off. In the second half, the Eagles switched to Victor Mason in net, who was up to the challenge. The remainder of the game saw both team exchange goal scoring chances several times, but neither team could find the back of the net. In the end, the teams settled for a tie in a tense, physical affair. Gallery
