Chateaugay's Irelynn Laplante (12) takes flight on the breakaway score for two of her 16 points on the afternoon. It would be regional finals day from the Clinton Community College with a ticket to the final four on the line, starting with the Class D Girls. It would see the #6 Chateaugay Bulldogs from Section X taking on the # 9 Schroon Lake Wildcats from Section VII. The game would start quickly, but it would be good for the visiting Bulldogs as they would jump out to an 11-lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Bulldogs would use their quick shooting to jump on, take control of the game with a 16-5 quarter, and take the 33-16 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Bulldogs would keep up their tight defense, have another good quarter at 10-5, and take the 43-21 lead into the final quarter. With the outcome of the game well out of doubt, the coaches would put the benches in for the fourth quarter, and the Bulldogs would win the low-scoring quarter at 6-3 as they would secure the 49-24 victory. In the winning effort for the Chateaugay Bulldogs, they will punch their ticket to the final four and get the winner of LaFragville and South Knighton at Hudson Valley Community College. In the win for the Bulldogs, Madison McComb and Irelynn Laplante each had 16 points as they went to 24-1 in the season. Malone's Raegan McArdle (11) takes flight as she lays it off the window for the score. It would be the second game of the 2024 edition of the Clinton Community College Holiday Classic, and it would be the first appearance of the girls; it would see the Malone Huskies from Section X taking on the Beekmantown Eagles from Section VII, and the Huskies would be looking to stay perfect on the early season. The Huskies would be off to the races as they would break into a 21-8 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Huskies would stay on the gas, expand their lead to 15-6, and take a 36--14 lead into the break. When the teams return for the second half, it will be more of the same as when the Huskies stay hot, have a 17-7 quarter, and take the 53-21 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles would put the bench in there, and the Huskies would be unable to as they only have a bench of 2 players. The Huskies would win the fourth 17-4 and get a convincing 70-25 victory. In the winning effort, the Huskies would stay perfect in the early season, going to 5-0 and taking on the Peru Nighthawks tomorrow.
