It would be a contest inside the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference tonight as the #9 Saranac Chiefs would meet up with the Plattsburgh Hornets at the AC North Sports Center. It would take just 45 seconds for the first goal of the game as the Chief's Landin Duprey would light the lamp for the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there till the 5:40 mark of the period Nolan Miner would score to extend their lead to a 2-0 lead. Then at the 10:41 mark of the period the Chiefs would score again on Duprey's second goal of the period and take a -0 lead to end the period. When the teams came out for the second period the teams would play pretty even throughout and there would be no scoring as the Chiefs would hold onto their 3-0. The Chiefs would keep the scoring going as they would light the lamp 4:07 into the period when Zack O'Connell would score to make it a 4-0 game. The game would stay there till the ten-minute mark of the period when the Chiefs would score twice in 45 seconds from Landin Duprey (for the hat trick) and Nolan Miner (second of the night) to make it a 6-0 Chiefs lead. Then with just over three minutes left in the game, the Chiefs would end their scoring outburst when Zack O'Connell would get the second of the night for the 7-0 win. The Beekmantown Eagles celebrate their hard-fought victory to stay atop the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference standings. It would be standing room only at the Amer-can North Sports Complex tonight as it would be a match-up of a pair of teams ranked inside the top 15 in the state as the #14 Saranac Chiefs Chiefs coming in on 6 games winning streak hosting the #2 Beekmantown Eagles that came in unbeaten on the season. It would take till the 6-minute mark of the first period before we had our first goal between these two high-spirited teams when Sam Bingel would light the lamp twice in that minute to give the Eagles the 2-0 lead. Then at the 9:25 mark of the period the Chiefs would get on the board when Evan Patrie would hit the rebound goal to make it a 2-1 game. Although the one-goal game would be short-lived as Keegan Seemone would score thirty seconds later to make it a two-goal lead again for the Eagles. The Chiefs would not end out the period strong as Landen Duprey would score twice to end the period and the teams would go into the locker room tied at three. The Chiefs would keep the train moving as they would score just 3:36 into the second period to give them their first lead of the game at 4-3 on the Nolan Miner goal. Then at about the midway mark of the period, Zach O'Connell will score to give the Chiefs the 5-3 lead. The game would stay there til the 14-minute mark of the period when Sam Bingel (hat trick) and Zach Lapier would score to tie the game at five as they went into the second intermission. When the teams returned for the third period the Eagles would be riding their excitement as they would take the 6-5 lead at the 5:36 mark of the period on Sam Bingel's 4th goal of the night. Then with under 90 seconds left in the game, he would strike again for the 7-5, and the Eagles would add an empty netter to secure the 8-5 win. In the winning effort, Austin Doser would make 27 saves as they go to 9-0-1 on the season and the Chiefs fall to 7-2-2 on the season as Joey Mitchell had 25 saves on the night. Saranac's Nolan Miner (9) with the hard hit on the Laker along the end boards. It would be the battle of the Saranac's as the Saranac Chiefs would face off with the Saranac Lake-Lake Placid Lakers section vii boy's hockey action. It would take till about the halfway mark of the first period for the first goal of the game coming from Landon Duprey at the 8:17 mark of the first period to give the Saranac Chiefs the 1-0 lead. The Chiefs would strike again with 2:30 left in the first period on the Evan Patrie goal to give them the 2-0 lead. The game would stay there till the 3:59 mark of the second period when Landon Duprey for the second goal of the night and take the 3-0. Then just 90 seconds later the Chiefs would score again this time from Adrian Barnes and take the 4-0 lead and stay there for the rest of the period. Then in the third period, the Chiefs would get another tally from Landon Duprey to get his hat-trick goal on the night and take the 5-0 lead. Finally, with ten minutes left in the game, the Lakers would get on the board to break up the shutout at 5-1. Then just to put the icing on the cake with 3:30 left in the game Nolan Miner would score to secure the 6-1 victory. Saranac's Ashytn Caitlin (3) with the hard check on Rice's Sam Crawford (15) that pancakes him to the boards. Today, it would be an interstate game as the Rice Memorial Knights would come across Lake Champlain and face off with the Saranac Chiefs at Ameri-can North Sports Complex. The game would start off well for the home Chiefs as they would get on the board 36 seconds into the game on a breakaway goal from Landen Duprey and that is where the first period would end as it would be the only goal of the period. It would take all the way to the 14-minute mark if there were another goal in the second period. The Chiefs would find the net on a 5x3 powerplay goal by Ashtyn Caitlin as the Chiefs make it a 2-0 game. Then with 54 seconds left in the second period, the Chiefs would take control of the game with a goal from Adrian Barnes to make it 3-0. In the third period, the Saranac Chiefs' defense would stand tall hold the Knights' offense in check, and even kill a couple of penalties as they would secure the 3-0 victory. Joey Mitchell would make 44 saves for the shutout in the winning effort as they went to 5-1-2 on the season. The Chiefs will be back in action at the Ameri-can North Arena as they take on the Saranac Lake/Lake Placid Lakers in conference action. Gallery

It would be the battle for AC North as the two teams that both call Ameri-can North Arena home would faceoff in their first of two meetings on the season as the Saranac Chiefs would meet up with the Plattsburgh Hornets. The game would start off very well for the Chiefs as they would get the opening goal of the game just a minute into the game from Nolan Miner and the 1-0 lead. Then with about ten minutes left in the period, they would extend the lead to 2-0 on the goal by Ben Phinney and that's where the first period would end. In the second period, the Chiefs would stay hot as they would make it a 3-0 game just 2:25 into the period on a goal from Evan Patrie. Later in the period, the Chiefs would strike again staying hot as Landen Duprey would score to make it a 4-0 game. Then the third period would start just like the other two with a quick from Zach O'Connell although this time Jonathan Roy would add his own goal right behind O'Connell and make it a 6-0 game. From there the Chiefs would do the rest and get the 6-0 shutout victory and go to 4-1-2 on the season while the Hornets fall to 1-3 season. Gallery

It would be the start of Champlain Valley Athletic Conference play as the Saranac Chiefs would host the Northeastern Clinton Cougars in a rematch of last year's semifinal game that saw the Cougars win in overtime. The game would start off well for the Chiefs as they would score just 1:44 into the match on the Landon Duprey to make it a 1-0 game. However, the lead would be short-lived as the Cougars would tie the game at one at the three-minute mark of the match from Owen Ebersol. That is where the game would stay till the 1:24 mark of the second period and in total, the Cougars would score three times in the first 5:20 of the period from Peyton Palmer, and two from Winnie Simpson for the 4-1. However, the Chiefs would go on a streak of their own scoring 4 goals in the tens and retaking the lead at 5-4 on goals from Nolan Miner (twice), Zach O'Connell, and Evan Patrie. Then during the third period, the Cougars would keep on fighting and get the equalizer at the 11:27 mark from Eddie Bullriss and from there the game would go to overtime. In that overtime period, Zach O'Connell would get the game-winner at 1:55 on the breakaway goal for the second of the night.
