Plattsburgh's Christina Magoline (11) and Saranac Lake/Lake Placid's Annabelle Bomnbard-Schmidt (13) battle for the puck along the endboards. The Plattsburgh Hornets would host Saranac Lake/Lake Placid in the Upstate New York Girls Hockey League action. It would be game at would pit two evenly matched teams. As there would be no goals through the first period. The first goal of the game would eventually come at the 5:18 mark of the second period when Saranac Lake/Lake Placid's Dariana Patterson would score to make it 1-0. That would almost be the lone goal of the game until Plattsburgh's McKenzie Brown would score with just over three minutes left in the game to tie it at one. The teams would end up in the overtime and in that overtime, Saranac Lake/Lake Placid's Rylee Preston would get the winner on the scramble in front halfway through the game to give the 2-1 win. In the winning effort, Saranac Lake/Lake Placid would go to 1-0-1 while the Plattsburgh Hornets fall to 5-1 on the season. Gallery

Malone Huskies @ Plattsburgh Hornets - Upstate New York Girls Hockey League - December 3rd 2019

Plattsburgh's Ava Julian (1) with the glove save on quick wrister. The Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Malone Huskies in an early-season Upstate New York Hockey League game. The game would start off good as the Hornets would get the quick 1-0 lead seven seconds into the game on the Avery Holland goal. Although the Huskies would answer right back at the 35-second mark on the Whitney St. Hillaire goal to make it 1-1. The game would stay there till midway through the second period when Reylyn Giroux would score for the Hornets to make it 2-1. Then at the 4:30 mark of the third period, the Hornets would double there lead on the Gillian Boule goal to make it 3-1. Although the Huskies would answer right back seventeen seconds later on the Alyx St. Hillaire goal to make it 3-2. Then at the nine-minute mark, the Hornets would regain the two-goal lead at 4-2 on the Mckenzie Brown goal. Then in the final minute, the Hornets would add an empty netter from Reylyn Giroux her second of the game to secure the 5-2 win. #3 Plattsburgh Hornets Vs #1 Beekmantown Eagles - New York State Section VII Class B Championship - November 2nd 2019

Beekmantown's Andrew Vannatten (25) puts the hand up and breakup the pass intended for Plattsburgh's Kyle LaValley (8). It would be a battle of crosstown rivals as the Beekmantown Eagles matchup with the Plattsburgh Hornets in the Section VII Class B Championships. The Hornets would take the 7-0 lead 4 minutes into the game on a 4 yard run by Ian Detuello. The Eagles would fight back to tie the game up at 7 on nine yard run by Kaden Myers two minutes into the second quarter. The Eagles would take the 14-7 lead 3 minutes into the third quarter on Kaden Myers 49 yard run. The Hornets would tie the game back up at 14 on a 54 yard pass to Ian Detulleo at the six minute mark of the third quarter. The Eagles would regain the lead at 21-13 as Kaden Myers would score for the third time on six yard run with three minutes left in the third quarter. The Hornets would answer right back with a nine yard run by Ian Detuello for his third score of the game at 21-19 with a minute left in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter though the Eagles would put the game away with two scores by Dave Dion and Kaden Myers to secure the 34-19. In the winning effort the Beekmantown Eagles go to 6-2 and have a matchup with the Potsdam Sandstoners in the New York State High School Class B Playoffs while the Hornets season comes to end at 4-5. #3 Plattsburgh Hornets @ #2 Peru Indians - New York State Section VII Class B Semi-finals - October 25th 2019

Peru's Ian Joy (18) with the crunching hit on Plattsburgh's Colin Golden (44) as soon as he catches the ball. It would be the semi-finals of the New York State Section VII Class B and the #3 Plattsburgh Hotnets travel to the #2 Peru Indians. The Indians would take the 3-0 lead on the first drive of the game with a 24 yard yard field goal by Keegan Smith. The game would stay there till 2:30 left in the half when the Indians would add another field goal from Keegan Smith this time 32 yards for the 6-0 lead as they head to the break. When the teams came out for the second it would be the tail of two halves as the Hornets offense would open up with a 27 yard pass touchdown to Ian Detuelleo to give the Hornets the 7-6 lead five minutes into the half. Then just 2:30 minutes later the Hornets would strike again on the ten yard run by Javon Carpenter for the 14-6 lead. From there on the defenses would be a wall and there would be no scoring. With that be said the Plattsburgh Hornets would get the 14-6 over the Peru Indians and both teams go to 4-4 on the season while the Hornets head to the sectional championship against the Beekmantown Eagles. Ticonderoga Sentinels @ Plattsburgh Hornets - Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Football - October 12th 2019

Plattsburgh's Myles King (88) with the crunching hit at the end of the game on Ticonderoga's Dillon Schlogl (1) to break up the pass. It would be week 6 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season and it would feature the Ticonderoga Sentinels at the Plattsburgh Hornets. It would take sometime for the scoring to happen as the defenses were up to the challenge. Then Hornets would end up taking the 7-0 lead on the 17 yard touchdown pass to Dylan Garrant as the second quarter began. That is where the score would remain through the first half and until the 3:25 of the third quarter when the Hornets extend there lead to 14-0 on Javon Carpenters ten yard run. The Hornets would take control of the game with just under 4 minutes left in third quarter when Myles King would catch the pass at the goal line for the 20-0 lead. The Sentinels would get on the board 1:30 into the fourth quarter on Monty Benedict touchdown to make it 20-7 down the stretch. Although the Hornets would put the game away down the stretch on the 2 yard pass to Benjamin Bourdeau and secure the 27-7 win. In the winning effort the Hornets go to 2-4 while the Sentinels fall to 1-5 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh Hornets @ Beekmantown Eagles - Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Football - October 4th 2019

Plattsburgh's Kyle LaValley (8) with the catch along the sidelines for the first down with Beekmentown's Andrew VanNatten (25) on his hip. It would be week 5 of the champlain valley athletic conference and would feature the Plattsburgh Hornets at the Beekmantown Eagles at the all new Beekmantown Sports Complex. The game would take sometime to get going and it the Eagles would get on the board with the quarterback keeper for a 7 yard run by Nate Finley to make it 6-0. That would be the only scoring all the way til there was four minutes left in third quarter when Matt Dion would scoop up a fumble and take it 65 yards for the score. From there to the end the defense would clap down and the and the Eagles would get the 13-0 win. With the win the Eagles go to 4-1 and take the lead in the division while the Hornets fall to 1-4 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh Hornets Vs Peru Indians - Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Football - September 20th 2019

Peru's Austin Carpenter (3) with the crunching hit on Plattsburgh's Kyle LaValley to break up the pass. It would be week of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season. As the Peru Indians would host the Plattsburgh Hornets in there first ever game under the Friday Night Lights. The game would start off good for Peru as they would get a safety 1:40 into the game for the 2-0 lead. Then about half through the first quarter the Indians strike with a 9 yard pass to Ian Joy for the 9-0 lead. That is where the game would stay till the third quarter as there would be no scoring as the defenses stepped up. Just under 5 minutes into the third quarter the Indians would score on a 6 yard run by Zach O'Connell and extend there lead to 16-0. Although the Hornets wouldn't be out done as they would take the kickoff 83 yards for the Ian Detulleo score and make it a 16-6 game. Then just a minute after that the Indians would extend there lead to 23-6 on the Austin Carpenter 73 yard catch run. Although the Hornets wouldn't go quietly as Foster Ovios would score on a 13 yard pass to make it 23-14 with just over ten minutes left in the game. Ausable Valley Patriots Vs Plattsburgh Hornets - Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Football - September 13th 2019

Ausable Valley's Nate Doner (34) takes it around the edge for extra yards and the first down. It would be week 2 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season and we would have the Ausable Valley Patriots traveling to the Plattsburghs Hornets. It would be home opener for the Hornets The Hornets would get the opening score of the game 3:39 in on a Ian Detuello 1 yard run for the 7-0 lead. The game would stay there til 12 seconds into second quarter when Jayvon Carpenter would break out a 30 yard run for the 14-0 lead. The Patriots would cut the lead in half on Nate Doner's 7 yard with 3 minutes left in the half to make it 14-7. Although the Hornets would march down the field and Ian Detuello would score again on a 3 yard pass to make it 21-7 to end the half. When the teams came back for the second half the defenses would step up and there would be no scoring. So the Hornets would get the 21-7 victory and go to 1-1 while the Patriots fall to 0-2 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh Hornets Vs Saranac Lake Placid Red Storm - Section X Crossover - May 21st 2019

off the face off

Plattsburgh's Michael Graves battles with the Red Storms face off man for the loose ball on the face off. The Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Saranac Lake Placid Red Storm in the Section X Crossover game. This would be the third meeting between these teams and firmly would show as the Hornets would have a slim 3-1 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter the Hornets would find there footing and take a 6-1 lead into the intermission. In the second half the Red Storm would do there best to make a game of it losing the half 5-4 although the Hornets were just to much to early winning the game 11-5. In the winning effort Michael Graves would let the way with the hat trick as the Hornets season comes to an end at 4-13. Gallery

Plattsburgh Hornets Vs Salmon River Shamrocks - Section X - May 17th 2019

Plattsburgh's Ethan Vaughn (27) with the shot from in close for one of two goals on the night. It would be the last game of the regular season and the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Salmon River Shamrocks in Section X Boy's Lacrosse action. The game would start good for the Hornets as they would get opening goal of the game although they would be down 3-1 after the first quarter. In the second quarter they tried there best to stay with the Shamrocks losing the quarter 5-2 and trail 8-3 at the halftime. In the second half the Shamrocks would be off to the races and the Hornets wouldn't have much of answer and would lose the half 10-3 and the game 18-6. In the losing effort Ethan Vaughn and Corbin Murray would have 2 goals each as the Hornets season would end at 2-13. Gallery
