SUNYAC Semi-Finals: #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs #4 Oswego State Lakers February 27th 2016
Plattsburgh State's Brady O'Quinn (27) crashes into the net hard and takes out the Oswego State goalie. It would be the classic rivalry this time in the SUNYAC Semi-Finals as the #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #4 Oswego State Lakers. It would take until the 8:15 mark of the second period until we would have a goal from Jesse Neher to give the Cardinals the 1-0 lead. The Lakers would get two goals in the remainder of the period to give the Lakers a 2-1 lead after two periods. The Cardinals Nick Belger would tie the game up at 2 at the 7:17 mark of the third period on a power play goal. Then the Cardinals would score again at the 10:09 mark from Dillan Fox to regain the lead at 3-2. Although the Lakers would get a late period goal to tie the game and send it to overtime. In that overtime Michael Radisa would score for the Cardinals at the 10:09 mark and give them the 4-3 win and send them to the SUNYAC Championship against Geneseo State. #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs #4 Oswego State Lakers February 27th 2016
Plattsburgh State's Nick Belger (24) with a quick wrister in traffic for the power play tying goal. It would be the classic rivalry this time in the SUNYAC Semi-Finals as the #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #4 Oswego State Lakers. The #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #4 Oswego State Lakers in the Semi-Finals of the SUNYAC Tournament. It would be a back and forth and game all the way from start to finish tonight. The Oswego State Lakers would take a slim 39-37 lead into the intermission. When the teams would return for the second half it would be more of the same and the Lakers would win the half 42-37. It would give the #4 Oswego State Lakers the upset victory over the #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals. In the losing effort, Kyle Richardson would lead the way with 25 points. As it would set up the Cortland State Red Dragons and the Oswego State Lakers in the SUNYAC finals and leaving the Plattsburgh State Cardinals to leave their faith in the hands of the committee if they are to go the NCAA Tournament. The #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #4 Oswego State Lakers in the Semi-Finals of the SUNYAC Tournament. It would be a back and forth and game all the way from start to finish tonight. #3 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs Oswego State Lakers February 5 2015
Plattsburgh State's Kyle Hall (10) cuts in front of the net and puts over the goalie's shoulder for the opening goal. The #3 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host arch-rival Oswego State Lakers in SUNYAC action. The Cardinals take the lead early at 4:33 of the first period on Kyle Hall's goal to make it 1-0. Oswego would answer right back thirty seconds later to tie the game up at one. Then in the last five minutes of the first, the Cardinals would retake the lead at 2-1 on Conor Gorman's goal. Oswego would come back and tie the game up back up at 11:54 of the second. The game would remain there till the early minutes of the third when Oswego would take the 3-2 lead. The game would stay there till about two minutes left in the game when the Cardinals would tie it up on a 4x4 goal by Anthony Calabrese. The game would go to overtime where Connor Gorman would get the game-winner with 2 seconds left to secure the 4-3 victory. Plattsburgh State's Giovanni Sense (20) with the goal to the top shelf over the goalie's pad. The #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Oswego State Lakers in ECAC West action at the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena. The Cardinals would take the early lead at 5:29 of the first period on the Melissa Ames goal to make it 1-0. Them at the 13:59 mark of the first period Giovanna Sense would put it top shelf to make it 2-0 Cardinals. The game would remain there all the way til 1:42 of the third period Kayla Meneghin would score on the wrap-around goal to make it 3-0. Then at 15:54 of the third period, Kayla Meneghin would get her second of the night to secure the 4-0 victory. The Lakers would get the opening goal of the game at 12:41 of the first period from Chris Waterstreet to make it 1-0. The game would remain there till the 2:18 mark of the second period when the Lakers would extend there lead to 2-0 on Chris Raguseo's goal. Then the Cardinals would get on the board at 12:21 mark of the third period on Mark Constantine's goal to make it 2-1 to make it a game down the stretch. Then with under 5 minutes left in the game Lakers' Bobby Gretsakis would score on the power play to put the game away for the Lakers at 3-1. Plattsburgh State's Joey Kromer (4) battles for the face off win at the center circle. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Oswego State Lakers in SUNYAC Conference play. Through the first 15 minutes there would not be much decided as the teams would tied at four getting goals for the Cardinals would Tom Duggan (twice), Courtney Cox and Brendan Damm. In the second quarter the Cardinals start to push there weight around and win the period 4-2 and have a 8-6 lead at the break getting goals for the Cardinals would be Robbie Ashlaw, Jack Felter, Tim Lawrence and James Reed. When the teams came back for the third period the Cardinals would start to blow the game out as they won the period 6-2 and took a 14-8 lead on goals from Tom Duggan (third of the night), Mike Gay, Brendan Damm (second and third of the night), Tim Lawrence (second of the night), Robbie Ashlaw (second of the night). In the fourth the Lakers would try and get back in the game but it would not workout as they won the quarter 3-2 but the Cardinals would hold onto the 16-11 victory getting goals for the Cardinals was Robbie Ashlaw (third of the night) and Charlie Dullea.
