The game would start off good for the home Cardinals as they would have a ten-point lead after the first quarter 15-6. Although in the second quarter the Lakers would come for revenge and win the quarter 18-8 and take the slim 24-23 lead at the intermission. When the teams would come back from the break for the third quarter the Cardinals would take control and win the quarter 19-13 and have a 42-37 lead headed to the fourth. In that fourth quarter, it would be more of the same for the Cardinals as they win it 20-14 and get the 62-51. Although in the second period the Cardinals would explode for 6 goals in the period. As for goals in the period they would come from 5 different scores as Kaitlin Drew Mead would be the only one with multiple goals in the period and actual get the hat track. As for the other goal scorers it would be Sara Krauseneck, Wrin Mcardle, Maggie Blair, and Annie Katonka. The Lakers would get one in the third period to avoid the shutout. The Cardinals would get the lone goal of the first period on the power play from Nicole Unsworth for the 1-0 lead after one. In the second period the Cardinals would get three goals in the period from Kaitlin Drew-Mead, Madison Walker and Mackenize Millen for the 4-1 lead after the second period. The Cardinals would strike again in the third period for three more goals from Courtney Moriarity, Annie Katonka, and Nicole Unsworth (second of the night) to secure the 7-1 victory. The Cardinals would get the opening goal of the game at the 7:59 mark of the first period from Christian Difelice. The Cardinals would waste no time make it 2-0 just 36 seconds later on Ryan Kuhn's goal. The game would remain there all the way til the third period when the Lakers would score at the 9:38 nark. From there the Cardinals would fight to keep the one goal lead and get the 2-1 victory. In the winning effort Jimmy Poreda would make 32 saves as the Cardinals finish the season at 12-11-2.
