Jamy Begor (19) with the pass on the bottom to get under Nick Heywood (29) on the late-race restart to get the win. It would be race number two of the season at the Mohawk International Raceway and it would be the first of the tracks Sportsman Modified Series mini championship. Other divisions in attendance for the weekend would be the Mod Lites, Limited Sportsman Modified, 4 Cylinders, and the new Super Stocks, division. When the heat races were done the first main event up would be the Super Stock division with a 12 lap race and for the second week in a row, the win would be Zack Daniels. Then we would have the 4 Cylinder (Bandits) division and after last weekend coming in second to Matt Zira, Francis White would get the win on a caution-free ten-laps race not without a late-race charge from Kaleb Shepard. Then next up would be the Mod-Lites and making a guest appearance in the division would be Mike Mereseca and in only 2 races in the cars, he would come from the middle of the pack and get the win. Then it would be the Limited Sportsman Modifieds for the rookie drivers in the division early race leader Blayden Arquiett would be pulling away from the field as he was going for the second win in a row but as he was trying to get under a lap car he would catch one of the yoke tires and collapse the who front right end of the racecar. With that taking advantage of the mishap would be Pryor Stacey and get his first win. Then there was just one race left for the night and it would be the Mohawk Sportsman Modified Series 40 lap event. Taking the lead off the start would be Nick Heywood and would be leading the first 24 laps and lapping up 12th place until there was a caution. Off the restart, he would keep the lead but there would another caution from a wreck. That restart would see Nick Heywood and Jamy Begor and Heywood would switch and take the top giving the bottom to Jamy and Begor would get the lead off the start and hold on for the last ten laps get the victory his first of the season. The action will be back again next weekend at Mohawk International Raceway on June 4th with a regular racecard plus an Enduro Qualifier. Gallery

Season Opener at Mohawk International Raceway May 21st 2021

Zack Daniels (30) and Jason Mcclatchie (70) are sliding through the corner in the Super Stock main event. For the first time since the Mohawk Nationals in September 2019, there would be competitive racing at the Mohawk International Raceway and there would be a couple of changes as they would welcome a new division the Super Stock along with the 358 Modifieds being put on hiatus for a year as a lot of the racers are still not able to cross the broader. After the heat racing would be done they would have the mains and the first one up for the season would be the Dirtcar 4 Cylinders (Bandits) and it would be the classic battle up front between Matt Zira and Francis White and this time it would be Zira getting the best of him. Then it would be the brand new Super Stock division on track taking to the track even though the car count would be small what they had would put on a great show and the win would go to Zack Daniels. Then we would have the screamers in the Mod-Lites as there 12 cars would take to the track for the 15 laps main and when the dust would settle the win would go to Scott Sharpe. Then we would have the Novice Sportsman Modified and it would be the young man of Blayden Arquiett blowing the field away. Then to finish off the night it would be the Crossroads Tobacco Sportsman Modified for there 25 lap event and Nick Heywood would start on the pole and that would be pretty much all she wrote as he would take the lead and go out and hide as they ran the 25 laps caution-free Dan Reif would be second and Jamy Begor rounding out the top 3. They will all be back in action next weekend as it would be round 1 of the Mohawk Sportsman Modified Series. Gallery

Mohawk Nationals Night 2 - Mohawk International Raceway - September 14th 2019

Billy Dunn (49) and Matt Williamson (88) battle for the lead during the Mohawk 100 as part of the Mohawk Nationals. It would be night number two of the Mohawk Nationals and it would feature the Can Am Mod Lites, Dirtcar Sportsman Modified North and the Super Dirtcar Series. Between the three divisions there would be a total of 90 cars in the pits. As for the racing on the track it would be the Can Am Mod Lites up first for 20 lap and the win would go to Jeff May as he would dominate the race for the win and also win the series championship. Next up would be the Super Dirtcar Series and the Mohawk 100. The early lead of the race would go to Demetrius Drellos. Although that would be without challenge and Billy Dunn would take the lead around lap 40. Although he would be challenged by and passed by Matt Williamson for the win and get the grauntee spot at the Billy Whittaker 200 at Oswego. Then the last race of the night would be the Dirtcar Sportsman Modified North for 50 laps and Robert Delormier and lead from green to checker for the win although it would be not without challenge as Shane Pecore and Brianna Ladecieur would be up there for the win. Frenchies Championship Night - Mohawk International Raceway - August 30th 2019

Mike Maresca (7mm) takes it to the highside and gets by Tim Fuller (19) for the lead and win the 50 lap main. It would be Frenchies Championship night at Mohawk International with all 5 division tirles up for grabs. The first main out of the box would be the Bandits and the win would go to Matt Zira after he charged from the last starting position to the win in the 10 lap main and he would also be crowned the season champion. Next up would be the Novice Sportsman Modified and the win would go to Jonathan Rush for first win in just under a year at Mohawk after sprited battle with Dan Beachard and the championship would go to Dan Reif in first year in a Sportsman Modified. Then after the intermission we would be back in action with the Crossroad Tabasco Sportsman Modified and it would be a see saw affair up front between RJ Tressiders and Rickey Thompson with win going to Thompson on a restart with the championship going to Shane Pecore would got a third in the last race. Then we would have the Mod Lites and that would see a fight up between the new series champion Kevin Foster and Harley Brown with the win going to Brown. Then it would be the main event of the evening with the Frenchies 358 Modifieds going 50 laps. It would see Mike Mareseca charge from mid pack to the front and have a battle for the win with Tim Fuller and would see Maresca take the lead with ten to go and hold on for the win. Although the championship would go to Chris Raabe who had a 9th on the night but had enough points in the bag to hold on for the win. Next up at Mohawk will be the Mohawk Nationals a two day show on September 13 and 14 with the Dirtcar Sportsman and Pro Stock Series, Mod Lites, Super Dirtcar Series and the 358 Modified Series. Snap on Night - Mohawk International Raceway - August 2nd 2019

bumper to bumper

Derric Ellisworth (48) goes bumper to bumper with Jonathan Rush (6j) Ellisworth would get his first win in the Novice Sportsman Modified division. It would be Snap On Tool night at Mohawk International Raceway and all 5 divisions would be in action. The winners on the night would be Tim Fuller in the Frenchies Chevy 358 Modified after a good battle with Chris Raabe that would see them swap the lead a couple times. Then in the Crossroad Tabaco Sportsman Modified and the winner would be Robert Delormier after a battle with Brianna Ladoucier. Then would have a Mod Lites and the cream would rise to the top as Robert Foster would win again. In the Novice Sportsman Modified Deric Ellisworth would get his first career win after leading wire to wire. Then to finish out the night Frank White would win the Bandits race after a battle with Matt Zirra and ending his win streak in the division. They will be back in action next weekend at Mohawk International Raceway on August 9th. Gallery

St. Lawerence Radiology Independence Day Fireworks - Mohawk International Raceway - July 5th 2019

Rickey Thompson (1R) tried to make a last turn pass on Thomas Cook (35) for the win but Cook would hold on for the win. It would be the St. Lawrence Radiology Independence Day Firework night at the Mohawk International Raceway. The first main of the night would be the Mod Lites and they would go caution free with the win going to Styles Arquiett. Next up would be the Frenchies 358 Modifieds for there 50 lap Independence Day race. It would start out with Chris Raabe on the pole although that would be short lived as Billy Dunn would go to the front. That wouldn't be the end though as Tim Fuller would keep coming from the back to the front and would get around Dunn with like 15 laps to go. Although Dunn wouldn't give up and they would come off turn four on the last lap side by side and Fuller would out drag him to the finish for the win. Next up would be the Crossroads Tobacco Sportsman Modified main and Robert Deloremeir would take the early lead, Thomas Cook would keep coming and would get the lead late in the race. Although that wouldn't be end as he would get a last lap challenge and bump Rickey Thompson coming to the checkered flag. Then we would have the Novice Sportsman Modified and Gavin Riddell would take the lead and go hide for the win. Then the last race of the night would be the Bandits main and it would be the Matt Zira and Francis White show with the win going to Zira.
