Meron's Cliff Connors (8) nabs the ball behind second base and fired to first for the out. The Fourth Ward Cardinals would host the Meron's Expos in the deciding game of the series for the right to go the finals. The game would start of close as the teams would trade runs in the first to have a 1-1 game. From there on out the Cardinals would pour it on as the Expos just seemed to have an off day. The Cardinals would break the game open in the second with six runs for the 7-1 lead and from there they would cruise to the 14-3 win. With the win, the Cardinals advance to the Championship where they will take on the defending champion Lyon Mountain Miners in the best of three series. Gallery

The Fourth Ward Cardinals would host the Meron's Expos in the deciding game of the series for the right to go the finals. Peabody's Shane Perrotte (2) fields the grounder at second base and fires on to first for the out. The Peabody Padres would host the Plattsburgh Cardinals in Saranac during week five the Champlain Valley Baseball League. The first game would be great pitchers duel at the Padres would get 1-0 win. The Padres would get a there lone run in the fourth inning on an RBI single from Zack Myers. In the winning effort Matt Rivers would pitch the complete-game shutout giving up just five hits while striking out four. For the lack of runs in game one game, two would make up for it. The Padres would take the 1-0 lead in first on Mark Eggleston RBI double. The Cardinals would take the lead in the second with two runs to make it 2-1. The Cardinals would extend the lead to 4-1 in the fifth to runs. The Cardinals would at two more in the top of the 5th to make it 6-1 before the Padres would start to answer back with three runs on RBI singles from Andrew Petro and Matt Rivers to make it 6-4. Although the Cardinals would answer back in the seventh with four runs to make it 10-4. At the bottom of the inning, the Cardinals would do there best to get back in but fall short as Mark Eggleston would have an RBI double and Matt Hart RBI single to end the game at 10-6 Cardinals. So with the two teams splitting the doubleheader, the Padres go to 3-5 while the Cardinals go to 5-5. Gallery

Plattsburgh Cardinals Craig Bujold leans back to catch the pop up in foul ground behind the plate. The Cardinals would jump out to an early 5-0 lead after the first two innings that they would never give up. They would get one in the first inning and then put up a four-spot in the second inning. The Miners would chip away at the lead by getting two in the third and fourth inning. The score would remain that until the seventh when the Cardinals would get an insurance run on a sacrifice fly tp take the lead 6-4. The Cardinals would hold that lead for the rest of the game and take game 1 of the best of three series. They will look to close out the championship next weekend at Bailey Avenue.
