Saranac Spartans @ Plattsburgh Hornets April 15th 2025
Saranac's Elizabeth Recore (4) slides in safe at the plate ahead of the tag from the Plattsburgh catcher Kiley Kretser (19). It would be the Saranac Spartans and the Plattsburgh Hornets doing battle in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Softball action from Plattsburgh High. The Sprtans would take the early lead in the game on a pair of runs on base hits in the first inning to take the 2-0 lead after the first inning. In the second inning, the Spartans would expand their lead to a single run for the 3-0 lead. The game would stay there til the fourth when the Hornets would get on the board with a run and make it a 3-1 lead. The fifth offense would explode on both sides as they would combine for seven runs as the Spartans would take the big 8-3 lead. In the sixth inning, the Hornets would stay hot and do what they could to make ot a game with a 3-1 inning to make it a 9-6 game, and that's where it would stay to give the Spartans the 9-6 victory. In the winning effort for the Spartans, Elizabeth Recore would lead the way with a hit and a pair of RBIs as they go to 3-3 on the season. Plattsburgh's shortstop charges the grounder and fires across for the out. It would be an early season matchup inside of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Softball as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Saranac Spartans. The game would start well for the Spartans as they opened the first inning with three runs for the 3-0 lead. In the second inning, the Spartans would add another four running as they would start to take control with the 7-0 lead. In the third inning, they would break it out with a six-run inning and take the 13-0 lead. In the fourth inning, they would add another five runs to expand the lead to 18-0. Before adding a single run in the fifth to secure the 19-0 win. In the winning effort, the Saranac Spartans stay undefeated on the season while the Plattsburgh Hornets suffer their first loss of the season and go to 2-1 on the season. Gallery

Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Softball: Northeastern Clinton Cougars @ Plattsburgh Hornets April 25th 2022

Northeastern Clinton's with the diving catch on the low line to shortstop. The Plattsburgh Hornets would be the away team as they play at home against the Northeastern Clinton Cougars a the Cougars' field was not ready to be played on. The game would start off good for the Hornets as they would get two runs in the first inning for the 2-0 lead and that's, where the game would stay until the bottom of the third when the Cougars would answer with two of their, own and tie the game at 2. Although it would not be tied for very long as the Hornets would answer back in the fourth inning with three runs and retake the lead at 5-2. Then in the fifth, the Hornets would get two more as they would extend the lead to 7-2. In the bottom of the fifth, the Cougars would get a single run to make it a 7-3 game, and then at the bottom of the sixth, the Cougars would add another three runs and make it a 7-6 game as they went to the seventh. Saranac Lake Red Storm @ Peru Nighthawks April 26th 2022
Peru's hitter with the base hit that she sends down the line. The Peru Nighthawks would host the Saranac Lake Red Storm in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Softball action. The game would remain scoreless until the bottom of the third when the Nighthawks would open up the scoring four runs. In the top of the fourth, the Red Storm would cut the deficit in half as they would get at 4-2. The Nighthawks would explode for eight runs in the sixth inning and extend the lead to 12-2. The Red Storm would an effort in the seventh to get back in the game but they would only get three runs. As the Nighthawks would hold on for the 12-5 win. Gallery

Peru's pitcher deliveries the strike as part of the complete game win. It would be a Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Softball matchup between the Saranac Chiefs and the Peru Nighthawks in early season action. The game would start off good for the home Nighthawks as they would get five runs in the first two innings and take the 5-0 lead. In the third inning, the Chiefs would start to get back in the game with two runs on Benjamin and Owen base hits for a 5-2 game. The game would stay there till the sixth when the Nighthawks would get two runs again to resecure their five-run lead at 7-2 and that's where the game would finish for the Nighthawks win. Gallery
