The Beekmantown Eagles would celebrate as they get the game-winner and stay perfect on the season. It would be a non-league game as the Beekmantown Eagles would host from Section X the Potsdam Sandstoners as both teams were looking to get the 2023 portion of the season started the right way. The game would start off well for the home Eagles as they would get on the board at about the five minutes of the first period on the Zach Lapier goal. The lead would only last about five minutes as the Sandstoners would tie the game at one. The game would stay there til there the 12:00 mark of the period when Sam Bingel would score to make it a 2-1 Eagles lead. The lead would be short-lived as the Sandstoners would tie the game at two. The Sandstoners would start off the second period hot as they would score three goals in the first two minutes and take a 5-2 lead. Then just 19 seconds later the Eagles would slow rush as they would get their own goal from Zach Lapier for his second of the game and make it a 5-3 game. Then at the 5:16 mark of the period, the Eagles would make it a one-goal game on the power play goal at 5-4. Then with under two minutes left in the period, the Sandstoners would regain their two-goal lead at 6-4. Then at the 7:48 mark of the third period, Cooper Burdo would score to make it a one-goal game again at 6-5. Then with 6:30 minutes left in the game, the Eagles would come all the way back and tie the game on Zach Lapier's third goal of the game. The game would head to overtime and in that period Keegan Seamone would score 1:44 into the overtime and get the 7-6 win. In the winning effort, the Eagles would stay perfect on the season at 7-0 while the Sandstoners fall to 5-3 on the season. Gallery

Beekmantown's Keegin Rodier (15) puts the puck in the back of the net on the breakaway for one of his two goals on the afternoon. The Beekmantown Eagles would be back in action as they would host the Grand Island Vikings from western new york in nonleague action. The Eagles would stay hot from the previous weekend. It wouldn't take long for the Eagles to get on the board just 3:34 into the game on a goal by Sam Bingel for the lone goal of the first period. The Eagles would strike again just five minutes into the second period on a goal by Reagan Dudyak. Then in the closing minutes of the period, the Eagles would take control of the game on Sam Bingel's second goal of the game and give the Eagles the 3-0 lead. Then just over a minute into the third period, the Eagles would strike again with Luke Moser's goal. Then the Eagles would finish off the scoring as Keegin Rodier would score twice to close out the period and give them the 6-0 lead. Then with four minutes left in the game, the Vikings would get on the board on Jamie Wright's goal to avoid the shutout and have a 6-1 final. In the winning effort, the Eagles would go to 3-0 on the season and be back in action the next day against the Kenmore East Bulldogs. Gallery

Beekmantown's Sam Bingel (11) with the goal squeaks past the line as part of a two-goal game. The Beekmantown Eagles would look to continue their hot start with another home contest against the Lasalle Cadets in nonconference action. The Eagles would get off to a fast start as they would get two goals in the opening period and take the 2-0 lead. When the second period came around, they would continue their hot hand as they added another two goals, both coming from Sam Bingel to take the 4-0 lead into the third period. In the third period, the Eagles would not let up having the big lead headed in as they would get three more goals two coming from Zack LaPier and one from Louis Sweenor to secure the 7-0 win for the Eagles. With the win, the Eagles go to 2-0 on the season and are yet to give up a goal after two shutout victories. Gallery

The Northeastern Clinton Cougars are named the 2021-2022 Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Hockey champions and will head to the New York State Playoffs. It would be a match-up of the top two teams in the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference as the #1 Beekmantown Eagles would faceoff with the #2 Northeastern Clinton Cougars for the conference championship at the Plattsburgh State Fieldhouse. The game would start out very evenly matched through the first period as there would be no score after one but that doesn't mean that there weren't chances by both teams to get on the board. The Cougars would finally break the ice and get the opening goal of the game from Reid LaValley for the 1-0 lead 4:12 into the second period. The game would stay there till the 10:34 mark of the period when Reid Fessette would get the equalizer on the unassisted goal. Then in the final 90 seconds of the period, the Eagles would pull ahead on the Luke Moser powerplay goal to take a 2-1 lead into the second intermission, The game would stay there till the ten-minute mark of the third period when Reid Levalley would strike for the second goal of the game and tie the game at two. The game would stay there through the rest of the regulation and we were headed into that all-important overtime. It would take until there were eight seconds left in the second overtime when Reid LaValley would strike for the third time and get the championship. With the win, the Northeastern Clinton Cougars will be headed to the NYSPHSAA Division 2 tournament and will take on the #1 team in the state Pelham on March 5th for the right to go to the NYSPHSAA Final Four March 12th-13th. It would be senior night at the Plattsburgh State Fieldhouse as the Beekmantown Eagles would host the Northeastern Clinton Cougars in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference action in what might be a preview of the championship that will be held in ten days. It wouldn't take long for the home Beekmantown Eagles to get on the board as they would light the lamp at the 2:49 mark of the first period on the Anthony Marion goal for the 1-0 lead and that's how the first period would end. Then at the 4:40 mark of the second period, Ryan Racine would come in the breakaway and beat the goalie, and tie the game at 1. Then about halfway through the second period the Eagles would come back and regain the 1 goal lead on the Zachary Lapier powerplay goal. That is where the game would stay still just under three minutes left in the game when the Eagles Keegan Rodier would shoot from the left faceoff circle and light the lamp and secure the 3-1 win. In the winning effort, the Beekmantown Eagles would secure the regular-season crown and the #1 seed in the upcoming playoffs and will wait for the winner of Plattsburgh and Saranac Lake-Lake Placid on February 24th. The Saranac Chiefs would host the Beekmantown Eagles in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Hockey action at Amer-Can North Arena. It would be a very evenly matched game with some hard-hitting and there would be no scoring through the first period of action. The first goal of the game would come in the first minute of the second period from Saranac's Ashtyn Catlin to give the Chiefs the 1-0 lead. The lead would be short-lived as the Eagles would get the equalizer four minutes later from Jake Brunham to tie the game at one. Although the Chiefs would answer back just eight seconds later from Ethan Barnes and make it a 2-1 game. Then just 2:36 into the third period the Chiefs would expand on their lead and make it a 3-1 game on the Landon Duprey goal. Then in the closing minutes of the game, the Chiefs would add an empty netter from Hunter Provost to secure the 4-1 victory. Next for the teams, the Saranac Chiefs will play Saranac Lake-Lake Placid on February 14th as the Beekmantown Eagles will be in action on February 15th against the Plattsburgh Hornets. Gallery
