Saranac's Layla Pellerin (1) with the snag on the line drive to keep the Hornets off the board. It would be the Saranac Spartans and the Plattsburgh Hornets doing battle in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Softball action from Plattsburgh High. The Sprtans would take the early lead in the game on a pair of runs on base hits in the first inning to take the 2-0 lead after the first inning. In the second inning, the Spartans would expand their lead to a single run for the 3-0 lead. The game would stay there til the fourth when the Hornets would get on the board with a run and make it a 3-1 lead. The fifth offense would explode on both sides as they would combine for seven runs as the Spartans would take the big 8-3 lead. In the sixth inning, the Hornets would stay hot and do what they could to make ot a game with a 3-1 inning to make it a 9-6 game, and that's where it would stay to give the Spartans the 9-6 victory. In the winning effort for the Spartans, Elizabeth Recore would lead the way with a hit and a pair of RBIs as they go to 3-3 on the season.
