For the first half of the game, both teams would have their defense on display, as no one could find the back of the net. The Cardinals would find the net with 1:51 left in the second as Kayson Ruegge would light the lamp for the 1-0. The Cardinals would extend their lead to 2-0 just 89 seconds later when Molly Riggi would light the lamp, and that's how the period would end. The game would stay there till the 18:21 mark of the third period when Molly Riggi would get her second goal, this time c, coming on the empty netter as the Cardinals would get the 3-0 win. In the winning effort for the Cardinals, Chloe Lewis would make 17 saves for the shutout victory as they go to 17-5-1 on the season and go for the weekend sweep tomorrow afternoon against the Canton Kangaroos. It would be a Champlain Valley Athletic Conference match-up from the American North Sports Center between the Northeastern Clinton Cougars and the Saranac Spartans. On this night, we would celebrate the eight careers of the graduating 2025 senior class before the game. Once the game got underway, the Spartans would be in control as they would get the game's opening goal at the 3:00 mark from Gabe Moore for the 1-0 lead. In the eighth minute of the game, the Spartans would make it 2-0 as Landon Giroux would find the back of the net for the Spartans. The Spartans would add another goal late to take the 3-0 lead after the first period. In the second period, the Spartans would get the lone goal of the period from Nolan Miner at the 6:30 mark to extend their lead to 4-0, and that's where the period would end. In the third period, the Spartans would waste little time making it a 5-0 game 12 seconds into the period, thanks to Ryan Campbell lighting the lamp. Then, in the 4th minute, the Spartans would make it a 6-0 game, and Gabe Moore would find the net for his second goal to finish scoring at the 13:20 mark of the third period. Nolan Miner would get his second goal of the game as the Spartans secured the 7-0 victory. In the winning effort, the Spartans would go to 10-7-1 on the season as they head into their next game against the Plattsburgh Hornets on February 17th. It would be a matchup inside the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena between the host Beekmantown Eagles and the Saranac Lake/Lake Placid Lakers as we stretch in the season. The game would be tight through the first 20 minutes, as there would be no scoring. The Eagles would finally get the game's first goal to break the ice at the 1:24 mark of the period on the Pierce Dominy goal. The Eagles would waste little time making it a 2-0 game on Novak Jarus's goal just 34 seconds later. Then, with just over two minutes left in the period, the Eagles would extend the lead to 3-0 on Novak Jarus's power-play goal and his second of the game to end the second period. When the teams returned for the third period, the Lakers wasted little time getting back into the game as they scored twice in the first six minutes from Ayden McCormick and Braden Harvey to make it a 3-2 game. The Eagles would return in the 7th minute and take the two-goal lead back on the Pryce Parker goal at 4-2. From there, the Eagle's defense would hold the Lakers in check and get the 4-2 win as they go to 10-5-2, and Jack Bell would make 17 saves as they head into a tournament this weekend at Salmon River. As for the Saranac Lake/Lake Placid Lakers, Cassidy Goodman would make 33 saves as they fall to 6-9-1 on the season and head to their regular-season finale against the Malone Huskies. Gallery

It would be a battle inside the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference as the #14 Moriah Vikings would travel up to Plattsburgh and take on the Hornets in a late-season tilt. The game would start well for the Vikings as their defense would be up to the task, and they would jump out to a 14-5 lead after the first quarter. It would be more of the same in the second quarter as they would hold the Hornets to nine points while getting another 15 for themselves to take the 29-14 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Hornets would regroup themselves, come out on fire, and take the third 12-7 to tighten up the game at 36-26 as they entered the fourth quarter. It would be the tightest in the fourth quarter as the Hornets would get the quarter 12-10, although the Vikings would hold on for the 46-38 victory. In the winning effort for the Vikings, they would go to 15-4 on the season as they head into their final regular season game next Tuesday against the Northern Adirondack Bobcats. As for the Plattsburgh Hornets, they fall to 6-14 as they finish their season, head to the Section VII Class A Playoffs, and take on the Beekmantown Eagles in the semi-finals. Gallery

It would be a battle inside the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference from Plattsburgh High School, and it would see the host Hornets take on the Saranac Spartans on senior night. The Hornets would start the game hot as they jumped out to the 25-17 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Spartans would do much better keeping the game close through the quarter as the Hornets would win the quarter 14-10 and take the 39-27 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Spartans could stay with the Hornets and maintain the deficit as they would win the quarter 12-11, but the Hornets would stay on top at 50-39. As they head into the fourth quarter, the Spartans would hang with the Hornets again, but the Hornets would take the quarter 15-14 and secure the 65-53 victory. In the winning effort for the Hornets, they will go to 11-7 on the season as they head on the road for their last two games. As for the Saranac Spartans, they fall to 7-10 on the season as they head into their game Wednesday against the Ticonderoga Sentinels. Gallery
