Plattsburgh State's Modou Badjie (10) with the slide tackle on Oneonta State's Joe Holder (11) to break up the scoring attempt. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would return home after an extended road trip and take on a SUNYAC foe like the #22 Oneonta State Red Dragons as they battle at the league's top. The teams would go back and forth throughout the first half of the game, with both teams having their chance to get the opening goal, but there would be no score in the first half. When the teams returned for the second half, the Cardinals would break the ice in the 75th minute on Brian Coughlan's third goal to make it a 1-0 game. It wouldn't take long for the Cardinals to extend their lead to 2-0 on Modou Badjie's second goal of the season in the 78th minute. From there, the Cardinals would stand tall, hold on for the 2-0 win, and improve their record to 7-1-3, while the Oneonta State Red Dragons would fall to 7-2-3. The Cardinals will return to action this Saturday as they trek across the state and take on the Buffalo State Bengals. Gallery

Clinton Community College's Zamir Foster with the sliding saves with traffic around him as part of a 16 save afternoon although it was not enough as they would fall 7-1. It would be the final home game of the season for the Clinton Community College Cougars at the Plattsburgh State Fieldhouse as they would take on the 5-0-3 Onondaga Community College Lazers. The game would start well for the Lazers as they would score twice in the first five minutes from Josh Dabbiero and Kyle Partington for the early 2-0 lead. From there I thought the Cougar's defense would stand strong for the first half and that's where we would stand at the end of one. When the teams returned for the second half Kyle Partingtonfor the Lazers would score three straight goals in fourteen minutes to give the 5-0 lead. Then in the 70th minute, the Lazers would add another goal this time from Samuel Spicer, and take the 6-0 lead. Although a minute later the Cougars would finally get on the board and make it a 6-1 game on the Harvey Merrill goal. Then in the 88th minute, the Lazers would add another goal from Josh Dabbiero his second of the game as the Lazers secured the 7-1 victory. In the winning effort for the Lazers, they go to 6-0-3 on the season. As for the Cougar, Zamir Foster would make 16 saves on the evening but still fall to 1-7 on the season as they head out on the road next weekend to take on SUNY Niagra and Erie Community College. The #17 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would open up conference play at home against the Fredonia State Blue Devils on homecoming weekend with 200 fans in attendance. The home Cardinals would get the opening goal of the match in the 16th minute from John Hayes his eighth of the season to make it a 1-0 game. Then just four minutes later in the 20th minute the Cardinals would expand on the lead and make it a 2-0 game on Tristan Laundree's third of the season and that's where the game would stay til the teams entered the half. When the teams returned for the second half the Blue Devils would come out on fire and get on the board in the 51st minute on Frederick Butler's second goal of the season. From there though the Cardinals' defense would be in shutdown mode and they would hold on for the 2-1 victory. In the winning effort, the Cardinals goalkeeper would make 2 saves as they stayed undefeated at 6-0-2. The Cardinals will return home next weekend as they continue in conference play against the Morrisville State Mustangs. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Tristan Laundree (2) with the goal that he crosses to the far corner to give the Cardinals the 1-0 lead. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals Men's Soccer would return to the field house soccer complex for the first time in three weeks ranked 17th in the national and would play host to the R.P.I. Engineers from the Liberty League. The match would be tight through the first half as both teams would take their chance and get the opening goal of the match but that would not happen in the first half. The opening goal would finally come in the 61st minute when the Cardinals' Tristan Laundree would score from inside the 18-yard box. The Cardinals going off the adrenaline of the goal would add to their lead just 7 minutes later on the John Hayes goal in the 68th minute. From there, the Cardinal's defense would stand tall, not allow anything from the Engineers, and would get the 2-0 win. In the winning effort, Teddy Healy would get the shutout victory as they stay undefeated at 5-0-2 while the Engineers would fall to 2-4 on the season. The Cardinals will look to see if they can stay undefeated as they enter SUNYAC play Saturday against the Fredonia State Blue Devils. Gallery

Clinton Community College's Harvey Merrill (2) and North Country Community College's Elijah White (27) battle for the ball along the end lines as the Cougars try to keep the attack going. We would have NJCAA Region III Men's Soccer from the Plattsburgh State Field House as the Clinton Community College Cougars would host the North Country Community College Saints as they would be benefiting the American Cancer Society. Both teams would come into the game looking to right their early season woes and get back on the right track. The Cougars would get the game's opening goal as Ben Burdo would give them the 1-0 lead 11 minutes in. The Saints would not let that get them down as they would keep fighting and Jon Snell would score on the penalty kick in the 22nd minute to tie the game up at one. The Cougars would be relentless though and not give up as they would keep coming and be able to retake the one-goal lead at 2-1 on the Cyle Marshall goal and that would end the scoring for the first half. The Cougars would come out of the locker room on fire as they would have the rare lead to start the half and they would answer with Ben Burdo's second goal of the game in the 61st minute to expand their lead to 3-1. Although the Saints would not give up they would keep fighting back and make it a one-goal game again in the 74th minute as Jon Snell would get his second goal of the game and make it a 3-2 game. The Cougars would not be throwing off their game answer right back 2 minutes later and regain their goal lead at 4-2 on Ben Burdo's hat trick goal and from there the Cougars would hold on for the win and their first of the season at 4-2. In the winning effort, Zamir Foster would make 6 saves as they go to 1-5 on the season. As for the North Country Community College Saints, Marc Bechard would make ten saves on the day but it would not be enough as they fell to 0-5 on the season. The Clinton Community College Cougars will look to build on this win as they head into their next game on September 18th against Hudson Valley Community College. Gallery

Clinton's Zamir Foster (GK) comes out and makes the sliding save on the shot attempt by Cayuga's Bigad Sid. The Cliton Community College Cougars would take the pitch at their new home the SUNY Plattsburgh Field House as they would host the Cayuga Community College Spartans in an NJCAA Division III Region III game. The match would not start very well for the home Cougars as they would be behind 3-0 in the first 15 minutes of the game. The half would not improve in the last 30 minutes as they would give up another two goals and trail by a score of 5-0 after the first half. When the teams returned for the second half, the game would not get any better for the home Cougars as they would give up another 7 goals in the half, lose the game 12-0, and fall to 0-4 on the season. The bright spot for the Cougars would be Zamir Foster as he would have double-digit saves on the day The Cougars will be back in action on September 15th as they will host the North Country Community College Saints.
