Dirtcar Racing Airborne Speedway: Taylor Rental Championship Night September 2nd 2023

Richie Turner (17) was crowned for the scond straight year the Hartson Total Opening Renegades champion with his fifth place finish. It would be Taylor Rental Championship Night from the Airborne Speedway to finish the 2023 racing season with the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified, Hartson Total Opening Renegades, Taylor Rental Street Stocks, and the Northern Blacktopping Limited Sportsman Modified and all the points races would still be up for grabs. The night would start off with the makeup feature for the Taylor Rental Street Stocks. The night would start off well for championship hopeful Ryan Senecal as he would start on the front row and lead all fifteen laps for the win and keep his championship alive. As for the guys leading the points, Josh Laporte would finish 2nd, Jake Fountain fifth and Matt LaValley seventh giving Laporte a slight lead as they would have their second feature to finish off the night. Then it would be onto all the heat races for the racing championship night. Then the features for the last race of the season and first up would be the traveling tour that joined us on the night the Mohawk Valley Vintage Dirt Modifieds and their four divisions would see Frank Hoard Jr., Greg Hauslin, George Palmer, Jack Miller and Nathan McFadden getting the wins. Then it would be onto the Northern Blacktopping Limited Sportsman Modified for 15 laps and getting the last win of the season in the nonpoints event would be Robert Laware for his second win of the year. Then it would be onto the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified for there 25 lap championship event and it would see Craig Wholey and Chris Cayea starting on the front row Wholey would lead the first few laps and then Chris Cayea would overtake him and try and go and hide out there. He would have a challenge though as Josh Jock and his second-half-season surge would continue but Cayea would get the win. Although Travis Bruno would finish in seventh and Joey Scarbrough fifth giving Travis Bruno his third straight track championship. Then it would be onto the Hartson Total Opening Renegades. It would see Tyler Irwin getting the lead at the start of the race but Josh Terry would come charging hard from his seventh-place start to get up there and battle with Irwin for the win knowing he pretty much needed to win to get the title. Richir Turner would start in fifth and fall back off the start to tenth and then just start working his way back up and get a fifth-place finish and clinch his second straight championship title. Then there would be one race left on the season at Airborne Speedway and that would be the Taylor Rental Street Stock for 15 laps with 32 cars starting the race every spot would be important and there would be 8 cautions throughout the night. Speedy Bressette would charge from his seventh-place starting spot to get the eventual win with Ryan Senecal second and Rick Doner third, As for the championship we would have co-champions when it was all said and done with Josh Laporte and Ryan Senecal champions with their 9th and 21st place finish on the night and that will put a wrap on the 2023 season at the Airborne Speedway. Dirtcar Racing Airborne Speedway: Military & Back to School Night Presented by Huntley Trucking August 26th 2023

Matt LaValley (29c) and Jason Bradley (3) battle for the lead down the front stretch of the Taylor Rental Street Stock heat races with LaValley getting the win. It would be a quick turnaround for all the racers at Airborne Speedway as they would be back at the track in just three short days for another full night of racing. This would have special meaning though as we would honor our Military before the races with the North Country Honor Flight. Then at intermission, it would be the annual back-to-school back pack and the racers and staff would knock it out of the park as they would have over 400 backpacks on hand to give away this year. As for the racing on track once the dust settled from the heat races it would be onto main event time. First out of the box would be the Hartson Total Open Renegades for their 25-lap race and starting on the front row would be Amber Rhoades and Hunter Sawyer with Sawyer leading the first six circuits. Although he would eventually be overtaken by Nathaniel Guay and then the battle would be on up front between him and Josh Terry for the win and Guay would get it for his first of the season. Then we would have the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified for 25 laps and it would see Jonathan Toohill start off on the pole he would get the lead off the start of the race and look to go hide but there would be a hard charger that wouldn't give up and that would be Joey Scarbrough and he would chase him down and get the lead with two laps to go and claim his third win of the season. Although the race would see a major shake-up in the points as high point man and leading most of the season Jamy Begor would have mechanical issues and have a do not finish giving the lead to Travis Bruno with one race to go in the season. Then we would have the Northern Blacktopping Limited Sportsman Modified for their fifteen-lap race and getting the win for the second time in three nights would be Matt LaValley. Then there would be one race left to go on the night the Taylor Rental Street Stock but as the cars were going around on their pace laps the skies would open up and soak the racetrack and races would be done for the night. The Street Stock would have their main pushed to the following week giving them double features for championship night Gallery

Dirtcar Racing Airborne Speedway Herbert Lawn Care Night Take 2 August 23rd 2023

It would be the second attempt to get the Hebert Lawn Care Night of racing in as their original night would get rained out after the heat races got ra back on July 8th. To get the night of main event racing underway would be the J+S Steel Sportsman for their 25-lap event. Josh Jock would get the lead off the start of the race over Michael Wright and he would lead all 25 laps to get his first win of the season. However, it would not come without challenge from Beau Reeves and Bucko Branham that would round out the top three on the night. Then next up would be the Be Cool Heating and A.C. 358 Modifieds with their 30-lap regular event. Lance Willix would get the lead at the start of the race although he would be quickly challenged by former track champion Chris Raabe. However, in the closing stages of the race, there would be a third player who would come up and put his nose in the mix and end up getting the win on the night and that would be Mike Mahaney. Then we would have the Hartson Total Opening Renegades for their 25-lap race and Tyler Irwin would get the lead off the start. Although you would have last year's champion Richie Turner coming from the sixth place start and would take the lead and the win for his first of the season. Then we would have the Northern Blacktopping Limited Sportsman Modified for their fifteen laps and it would see Matt LaValley for his first career Sportsman Modified win. Then the last race of the night would be the Taylor Rental Street Stock for 15 laps and they would have 28 cars taking the green flag. John Brown would be starting on the pole but the lead would be short-lived as Nate Smart would come around and lead the first lap. With the fast guys starting mid-pack, they would come charging to the front, and in the closing laps John Michael Bressette would take the lead and get his first career dirt win but it would be not without competition as Matt LaValley and Jake Fountain would round out the top 3. It will be a quick turnaround for all the drivers as they will be back in action in just three short days as part of Military and Back to School night brought to you by Huntley Trucking. Gallery

Triple 40's Night Presented by Hartson Total Opening Renegades @ Airborne Speedway July 22nd 2023

Chris Raabe (01) gets to the line first in the Be Cool Heating and Air Conditioning 358 Modified 40-lap event. It would be the ninth night of racing at the Airborne Speedway and it would be a packed pit with over 100 cars to race on Hartson Total Opening Triple 40's night as there would be extra distance races for the 358 Modifieds, Sportsman Modified, and the Renegades. Along with the Limited Sportsman Modified and the Street Stock having their normal 15 laps events. After all the battle in the heat races including a couple of photo finishes it would be onto the main events. First up would be the Northern Blacktopping Limited Sportsman Modified for their fifteen-lap event and it would be caution fest but after all the chaos settle the winner would be Dale Gonyo getting his second win of the season over Charlotte Morin and Parker Dermody to round out the top three. Then next up would be the first of our Triple 40s with the Be Cool Heating and Cooling 358 Modifieds and it would be a battle of the front row all race long between Chris Raabe and Felix Roy and after some lap cars got in the way near the end of the race Raabe would pull away for the win and Roy would be second and Steve Bernier would round out the top three. Then next up would be the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified for there 40 lap affair and Lonnie Rivers would get the race lead off the start of the race but there would eventually be a challenge up front between him and Jamy Begor that would see Begor get around him around the halfway through the race but there would be a third player in the battle near the end of the event as Fire Swamp would look to go back to back with wins but Begor would hold on for his second win of the season. Then it would be the last Triple 40 of the night with the Hartson Total Opening Renegades and it would be the Billy Thwaits and the Josh Terry show up front with Josh Terry getting the win at the end on the late-race pass for his first win of the season. Then after a long night of racing, it would finally be the last race of the night with the Taylor Rental Street Stock for their fifteen-lap affair. The race would start off with a battle up front between Brett Manor and Jason Bradley but old Reliable would come up from the 6th spot Jacob Fountain to get the lead and it would be a battle til the end between him and John Michael Bressette as Fountain would get his third win of the season. The track will be quiet next weekend July 29th as the Clinton County Fair is in town for the weekend. Although the track will come back to life on August 5th for the Small Block/Big Block Challenge. Bill Thwaits (69) and Tyler Irwin (54) battle for the lead off of turn four in the first Hartson Total Opening Renegades main of the night with Thwaits getting the win. It would be the eighth night of racing of the season at the Airborne Speedway powered by the New England Ford Dealers and it would be the popular Make a Wish Night brought to you by the Liquor and Wine Warehouse. First out of the box would be the Renegade makeup feature from the July 1st event and it would be a battle up front between Bill Thwaits and Tyler Irwin Bill Thwaits would get at the line after a bunch of early cautions on the night to give him his second win of the night. Then it would be the makeup feature for the Street Stock and it would see Greg Zindler get the late-race victory when Josh Laporte had issues in the closing laps. Then it would be onto the heat races for the races that were on the schedule for this evening and the first up would be the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified and the winners would be Josh Jock, Beau Reeves, and Michael Wright. Then the Northern Blacktopping Limited Sportsman Modified would be out for their one heat and the winner would be Tyler Travis. Then next we would have the Street Stock on tap and the heats would go to JJ Laporte, Jason Bradley, and Josh Laporte. Then to finish off the heat racing for the night would be the Hartson Total Opening Renegades for a pair of races and Tyler Irwin and Zack Daniels. Then it would be onto the features for the night and it would start with the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified for their 25 laps event. It would be slow to get going as there would be four cautions in the first hand full of laps but once the race got going it would see Josh Jock pull away with the lead but there would be a hard charger coming in the wake of Fire Swamp and with 3 laps to go he would be right on the back of Jock and would take the lead with two to go and claim his first win of the season. Then it would be the Northern Blacktopping Limited Sportsman Modified and it would be the Tyler Travis show as he would run away for the win. Then it would be the Taylor Rental Street Stock for their main and this time it would be a 25-lap event for them and it would come right down to the wire for them and it would be Jake Fountain getting the win over JJ Laporte as they came off of turn four and there was a traffic jam as they were going to the checkered. Then to finish off the night would be the Hartson Total Opening Renegades for there 25 lap event and with Zack Daniels starting on the row it would be a case of Daniels getting the lead and going away and heading although Tylor Terry and Nthaniel Guay would round out the top three. Airborne Speedway will be back in action very quickly with a race on Tuesday, July 18th as they will be finishing up their event from the July 8th show. Gallery

It would be the seventh night of racing from Airborne Speedway on Hebert's Lawncare and Snowplowing Night with the Be Cool Heating and AC 358 Modifieds along with the J+S Steel Sportsman Modifieds, Hartson Total Opening Renegades, Taylor Rental Street Stocks, and the Northern Blacktopping Limited Sportsman Modifieds. The night would start off with the Northern Blacktopping Limited Sportsman Modified with the feature that didn't get run the week before and it would good race up front for a few laps but then Charlotte Morin would slowly pull away from Rick Frenyea and Kobe Hernandez to get the first win of her career in the Limited Sportsman Modified. Then it would be on to the heat races for the current night and first out of the box would be the J+S Steel Sportsman Modifieds and the wins would go to Josh Jock, Michael Wright, and Beau Reeves. Then next up would be the Be Cool Heating and A.C. 358 Modifieds with their two heats and the wins would go to Chris Raabe and Mike Mahaney. Then we would have the Hartson Total Renegades with their three heats and the wins would go to Zack Daniels, Josh Terry, and Billy Thwaits. Then we would have the Northern Blacktopping Limited Sportsman Modifieds for their heat for tonight's feature and they would be part way through when there was a crash between Matt LaValley and Kobe Hernandez and while they were cleaning up the accident mother nature would want to make her appearance felt on the track and just drowned the track and racing will be over the night and the features will be made up on a different night. The track will be back in action next weekend July 15th with the Sportsman Modified, Renegades (double feature), Street Stock (double feature), and the Limited Sportsman Modified in action on Make a Wish and Liqouir and Wine Warehouse night. Jonathan Toohill (2JT) beats Chris Cayea (18) to the line in a photo-finish victory over Chris Cayea (18) to get his first crew win. It would be round #6 of racing from the Airborne Speedway and it would be the Independence Weekend Spectacular presented by Riley Ford with the four main divisions in action the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified, Hartson Total Opening Renegades, Taylor Rental Street Stocks, and the Northern Blacktopping Limited Sportsman Modified. The first heat race would start off with a bang with Mark Fewster and Josh Jock getting together and coming to the green off a restart in the first heat of the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified. The other heat races on the night would be hotly contested with a couple of photo finishes with Tyler Irwin and Billy Thwaits in the third heat of the Renegades. Then it would be onto the features for the night and the first out of the box would be the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified for there 25 lap event and it would see all 25 laps go green to checkered as Jonathan Toohill would get the win after leading all of the laps. Although the win would not come easy as he would have Chris Cayea all over him for most of the race just couldn't get around him and Craig Wholey would round out the top 3. Next up would be the Hartson Total Opening Renegades and as they were under the pace laps mother nature would open up and the rain would knock out the rest of the night's racing. The track will be back in action next Saturday night July 8th for another night of weekly racing and the 358 Modifieds will be in action as well. Gallery

Kid's Ride Night @ Airborne Speedway Presented by Loreman's & Sysco June 10th 2023

Dale Gonyo (04g) with the last lap pass on Rick Frenyea (07) for the win and his first career win in the Northern Blacktopping Limited Sportsman Modified. It would be the fifth week at Airborne Speedway and it would be one of the more special nights for all the drivers especially the kids as it would be kid's ride night at the track presented by Sysco and Loremans with around 75 cars in competition. The night would start with the kid's favorite portion of the night as they would get to go for a ride with their favorite drivers. After all that and all the heat racing had concluded it would be onto the features and the first one up would be the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified for 25 laps. In their race, it would see one caution on the only lap as the front row Craig Worely and Mark Fewater would get tangled up battling for the lead in turn one. From there it would be a battle up front for the first part of the race between Jason Bruno and Craig Worely with Bruno getting the advantage. Although they would not be able to go out and hide as there would be a hard-charging Joey Scarbrough that would take the lead in the closing laps and capture his second win of the season followed by the Bruno brothers Jason and Travis rounding out the top 3. Then next up would be the Taylor Rental Street starting 27 cars and that race would not be without its own fair share action as there would be multiple rollovers in the fifteen laps and other cautions that would see your early season points contenders all getting caught up in it the Malay. Although when the dust would settle it would be one of the class veterans that would get the win on the night with Josh Laporte pulling it into victory lane with Luke Marcheski and John Michael Bressette rounding out the top three. Then we would be on to the Northern Blacktopping Limited Sportsman Modified and it would see Rick Frenyea lead the whole race until the last corner when Dale Gonyo would pounce for the win. Then to finish off the night it would be the Hartson Total Opening Renegades for their 25-lap race. The early part of the race would see Keith Pelkey and Jason Boggett chasing down the checkered. Although there would be a hard runner charging from his eighth-place starting spot and Shawn Duquette would capture his second straight win on a late-race restart and Andrew Fitzgerald and Keith Pelkey would finish off the top three. It will be a quick turnaround at the track as they are back racing this Wednesday, June 14th as the Super Dirtcar Series comes to town along with the Taylor Rental Street Stock and the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified. Nostalgia Tour Night presented by Seacomm @ Airborne Speedway June 3rd 2023

Shawn Duquette (18) and Richie Turner (17) battle for the lead as they dive down into turn one and Shawn Duquette would get the win on the night. It would be the fourth week of racing from the Airborne Speedway as we enter the month of June and the first of two showings of the Nostalgia Tour cars along with the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified, Northern Blacktopping Limited Sportsman Modified, Hartson Total Opening Renegades, and Taylor Rentals and a surprise appearance by three mega trucks for exhibition. After the heat races were done on the day it would be onto the features for the evening. Before the mains would get underway though the would be an exhibition put on by three of the badest mega trucks in the area doing jumps and donuts for the crowd. Once the mains got underway the Dirt Modified Nostalgia Cars would be first up for their main and the win would go to Aaron Pough. First up for the regular Airborne Speedway divisions would be the Hartson Total Opening Renegades for 25 laps and would see David Sartwell Cornell start on the pole and lead the first couple laps over Keith Pelkey but the Duke Shawn Duquette would be on the charge from the 9th starting spot and take the lead. Although there would be a late-race restart and see him and Riche Turner put on a great battle over the closing laps to claim Shawn Duquettes second win of the season over Richie Turner and Tylor Terry to round out the top three. Then next up would be the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified and would see Mike Wells and Tanner Forbes start on the front row Wells would get the early lead of the race but there would be a hard charger from the back of the pack and take the lead on lap ten and not look back from there to score his first win of the season. Then it would be time for the Taylor Rental Street Stocks for there 15 lap main event and see John Brown and Jason Bradley get the lead at the start of the race but there be hard-charging Jake Fountain from the fourth row a take the lead by lap five of the event but it would be not without challenge as Josh Laporte would make it a race down the stretch but Fountain would hold on for second win of the season. Then to finish off the night it would be the Northern Blacktopping Limited Sportsman Modified and for the second week in a row it would be the Nate Leonard show and he would claim the win for the second straight week. The race track will come back to life again next week with the four weekly divisions in action plus it will be the annual kid rides night. Gallery

It would be the third night of racing from Airborne Speedway for 2023 with 358 Modifieds, Sportsman Modified, Renegades, Limited Sportsman Modified, and the Street Stock all in action on the night. Once the heat races would be done on the night it would be onto the features for the evening with the Limited Sportsman Modified first and it would see Nate Leonard make quick of the field to get his first career win. Then it would be onto the 358 Modifieds feature and it would see a great battle up front between Mike Mahaney and Felix Roy with the eventual win going to Felix Roy on a pass with a couple of laps left and Chris Raabe would round out the top three. Then it would be onto the SportsmanModified feature and it would be a race that would take some time to get going as there would be four cautions in the first laps of the race but once it did get going Mike Phinney would get around Beau Reeves for the lead and would not give it up the rest of the night for the win and Reeves and Aubin would round out the top three with the Hard Charger Bucko Braham getting fourth after a 19th place start. Then we would be onto the Renegades for their 25-lap event and Nathaniel Guay would get the early lead at the start of the race. Although he would start falling backward and Zack Daniels would get the lead and hang on for the win over a hard-charging Shawn Duquette and last week's winner Bill Thwaits for the top three. Then the last race of the evening would be the Taylor Rentals Street Stocks for fifteen laps and it would see Josh Blake getting the win but that would not be without challenge from Josh Laporte Jr and Ryan Senecal and that would be Blake's first win. The Airborne Speedway will be back in action next weekend June 3rd with the Sportsman Modified, Renegades, Limited Sportsman Modified, and the Street Stock in action plus the Mohawk Valley Antique racers.
