The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #23 ranked Brockport State Golden Eagles in SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse action as part of the senior day game. The game would not start off good for the home Cardinals as they would trail 8-2 after the first quarter scoring the two for the Cardinals would be Caroline Noia and Lindsay Guzzetta while scoring for the Golden Eagles would be Danielle Hemly, Claire Odett (fourth), Julia Quinlan (twice), and Logan Hibbard. In the second quarter, the Cardinals would get shutout 4-0 on goals by Julia Quinlan (third), Courtney Cunningham, Cassidy Burnash, and Danielle Hemly (second) and take a 12-2 lead into the break. When the teams returned for the third period the Eagle's offense would stay hot with another 4-0 quarter on goals from Logan Hibbard (second), Allison Jennings (third), and take a 16-2 lead into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter, the teams would trade a goal each with Kate Kennedy scoring for the Cardinals and Danielle Hemly scoring her third on the day for the Eagles. As the Eagles would get the 17-3 win as the Cardinals fall to 4-8 on the season. Gallery

SUNYAC Softball: Potsdam State Bears @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals April 23rd 2022

Plattsburgh State's Sam Gentile (2) with the pick and fire to get the base runner at first for the out. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Potsdam State Bears in the home season finale of the 2022 season in doubleheader SUNYAC action. The first game would remain scoreless until the bottom of the third when McKearin would score on the fielder's choice to make it 1-0. In the bottom of the fourth, the Cardinals would add another single run in the bottom of the fourth on another fielders choice and Langdon would score. In the fifth inning, the Cardinals would get two runs on Palmer's rbi triple and Langdon's rbi single. From there the Cardinals would hold on for the 4-0 win. In the winning effort, Golino would go the complete-game shutout giving up just 1 hit and striking out six as the Cardinals go to 9-14 on the season. After a thirty-minute break, the teams would meet up again for game two of the doubleheader. The second game would start as the first game ended as the Cardinals would get three runs in the first lead by Maggiacom 2 rbi double for the 3-0 lead. In the second inning, they would get another run as Palmer would score on the wild pitch to make it 4-0. In the fourth inning, the Bears would break up the shutout on Brandt's double to make it 4-1. In the sixth inning though the Cardinals would put the game out of reach on a three-run home run by Langdon to make it a 7-1 game and that's where the game would finish. The Cardinals would go to 10-14 on the season as Maggiacom would go the complete game giving up four hits one run while striking out three. The Cardinals will be in action again on Monday as they travel to Oswego to face them in doubleheader action. Gallery

The game would remain scoreless until the third inning when the home cardinals would explode for four runs led by Messersch's 2 rbi double to give them the 4-0 lead. The Cardinals would come back in the fourth with another two runs led by Reily's RBI double as the Cardinals take a 6-0 lead. The Cardinals would keep the bats going in the fifth inning on the single run by Veit's rbi single to center to take the 7-0 lead. The Cardinal's offense would come to end in the sixth inning with another two runs on a 2 rbi single by Messerch to make it a 9-0 game. The Cadets would break the ice in the seventh with a single run there and another in the ninth inning. Although it would not be enough as the Cardinals would get the 9-2 win and go to 11-12 on the season. Leading the way for the Cardinals on the mound would be Ryan Lawyer as he goes six innings and scattered five hits while giving up one run and striking out six. Meanwhile, at the plate, the Cardinals would have a great outing by Steve Messerschmitt as he would have 2 hits and 4 RBIs on the day. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Brockport State Golden Eagles in SUNYAC Lacrosse action. The game would not start off good for the home Cardinals as they would be down 3-0 after the first quarter on goals from Owen VanWie, Rocco Santillo, and Jhovanny Olivares. In the second quarter, the Cardinal's luck would not be much better as the Eagles would win the quarter 5-1 and take an 8-1 lead into the locker room on goals from Owen VanWie (second) Nelson Logan, Rocco Santillo (second and third), and Carson Colucci while getting the lone goal for the Cardinals would be Owen Lorenzetti. When the teams came back for the second half the Cardinals still wouldn't have any luck as they got outscored 5-0 on Rocco Santillo (fourth), Ethan Stiles (second), and Owen Vanwie (third), Carson Colucci (second) and Ryan McCarthy. In the losing effort, Christian Bassi would make 13 saves as they fall to 3-10 on the season. Gallery

It would be the last non-conference game of the schedule as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Russell Sage Gators in Men's Lacrosse action. The game would start off good for the home Cardinals as they would have a 5-2 lead after the first quarter on the strength of goals from Stephen Kane, Kyle Rutland, Andrew Braverman, Zach Gill, and Donald Woods. In the second quarter, the Cardinals offense would come alive with a 7-0 quarter and take a 12-2 lead into the lockerroom on goals from Max Burgio, Donald Woods (second & third), Zach Gill (second & third), and John Eiseman (one & two). When the teams returned for the third quarter the Cardinal's offense would stay hot with a 5-2 quarter and take a 17-4 lead into the final quarter on goals from John Eiserman (third), Cam Morin, Donald Woods (fourth), Matt Trypaluk and Logan Vilardi. In the fourth quarter, the cardinals would let off the gas and have a 4-1 quarter on goals from Logan Jones, Zach Derhak (one & two), and Ryan Weaver as the Cardinals would secure the 21-5 lead. The game would start off good for the home Cardinals as they would have a 5-2 lead after the first quarter on the strength of goals from Stephen Kane, Kyle Rutland, Andrew Braverman, Zach Gill, and Donald Woods. Plattsburgh State's Danielle Torres squares up on the pitch and sends a shot to the outfield for the base hit. The first game of the doubleheader would not start off good for the Cardinals as they would give up a rbi double in the first inning and trail 1-0. Then in the third inning, the Knights would score another three runs led by Schwartz 2 rbi triple, and make it a 4-0 game. Then in the fifth inning, the Cardinals would get on the board with a pair of runs led by Langdon rbi single and make it a 4-2 game. In the sixth inning, the Knights would take control of the game with three runs lead by Schmitz 2 rbi double, and make it a 7-2 game. In the seventh inning just add insurance on the game the Knights would get another three runs to get the 10-2 win. Then it would be onto game two of the doubleheader and it would start off good for the Cardinals as they would get a rbi double in the first by Maggiacom for the 1-0 lead. The Knights would battle back and tie the game at one on an error. Then in the fourth inning, the Cardinals would regain the lead at 2-1 on a sacrifice fly. Then in the fifth inning, the Knights would score four runs as they take the 5-2 lead led by Riccardi 2 rbi single. Then in the sixth, the Knights would add another run on the Schwartz rbi double for the 6-2 lead. Then in the bottom of the inning, the Cardinals would cut the lead in half at 6-4 on the Torres 2 rbi single. Then in the seventh inning, the Knights would put the final touches on the game with a rbi single by Kersch for the 7-4 win. In the losing effort, the Cardinals fall to 8-12 on the season. Gallery
