It would be playoff time in the Upstate New York Girl's Hockey League as the #2 Plattsburgh Hornets would host the #3 Saranac Lake-Lake Placid Lakers in the Section VII semi-finals. It would take some time for the teams to feel each other out as the Hornets would get the lone goal of the opening period with under three minutes left as Amaya Abellard would light the lamp on the shorthand goal for the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there til the 5:40 mark of the second period when the Hornets would stretch their lead to 2-0 from Susie Kennedy. Then just five minutes later the 10:04 mark the Hornets would up their lead to 3-0 on the Mckenzie Brown goal. Then in the third period, the Hornets would put the icing on the game with a pair of goals from Amaya Abellard (second of the game) and Ada Johnson as they secure the 5-0 win. In the winning effort, Amelle Lebrun would make ten saves for the shutout as the Plattsburgh Hornets move on to the Section VII Championship on February 3rd at the Herb Brooks Arena as they will face the Malone Huskies.
