In the second period, the Huskies would waste little time stretching the lead to 2-0 just 45 seconds in. Although the Hornets would answer back quickly at the 2:29 mark of the period from Ava Perry to make it 2-1 game. Although just thirty seconds later the Huskies would regain their two-goal lead at 3-1. Then at the 8:15 mark of the second period, the Hornets would answer back this time from Amanda Vaughn and make it a 3-2 game as they headed to the third period. In that third period the Hornets would tie the game up at three with under minutes left on Amanda Vaughns's second goal of the game and that is where the game would finish after five-minute over time we have a 3-3 tie game.
