It would be the start of football championship weekend for the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference with the Class B title on the line between the #1 Peru Nighthawks and the #2 Plattsburgh Hornets at the Beekmantown High School. In the classic rivalry between the Peru Nighthawks and Plattsburgh Hornets, the defenses would be the stars of the game for the most part. As the Nighthawks would not get on the board till the 8:53 mark of the second quarter when Landen Duprey would score on the touchdown pass from Zach O'Connell. That is where the score would style through the remainder of the half. The Nighthawks would get their second score of the game from Zach O'Connell with 1:30 left in the third quarter on a one-yard quarterback keeper to make it 14-0 Peru. Then in the final minutes of the game, the Nighthawks would tack on a 41-yard field goal from Keegan Smith to give them the 17-0 victory and the 2021 Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class B Championship. With the win, they improve to 6-2 on the season and advance to the NYSPHSAA Tournament and will play the Massena Red Raiders in the opening round while the Plattsburgh Hornets season comes to end at 4-4.
