Plattsburgh's (40) slices down the paint through a pair of defenders for the hoop. It would be the classic section vii rivalry as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Peru Nighthawks in Boy's Basketball action. It would be a game that you could tell was an early-season tilt as the offense would have some miscues and the Hornets would have a low scoring 12-5 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the scoring would even be less as the defenses would step up as the Nighthawks would win the quarter at 5-4 but the Hornets would still have the lead at 16-10 at the half. When the teams would come back for the third quarter it would be tight with some extra scoring as the Hornets would win the quarter at 10-9 and extend their lead to 26-19. In the fourth quarter, the Hornets would get hot and pull away with an 18-9 quarter and secure the 44-27 victory. In the winning effort, Carter King would lead the way with 14 points and will be back in action Wednesday against Northeastern while Peru will be at home against Northern Adirondack. Gallery.
