In a game that had first place on the line and possible home field for the championship would pit to the top 2 teams in the league as the Syracuse Shock take a 27-21 win over the Plattsburgh North Stars. The game would see the Shock a quick 14-0 lead within the first 5 minutes of the game. The North Stars would close the racks though and would be down 14-7 after the first quarter and would be a 21-14 Shocks lead at the break. The in the second half the teams would traded scores with the Shock controlling the last 5 minutes of the game to secure the win over the North Stars. Gallery

Plattsburgh North Stars Linebacker Kyle Babbie (52) with the big hit on Watertown's quarterback as he releases the pass. In a rematch of last year Empire Football League Championship the Plattsburgh North Stars would gain there revenge over the Watertown Red & Black with a convincing 21-7 victory. With the win the North Stars are now in a three way tie atop the league with Watertown and Vermont. The North Stars would show that they meant busy from the beginning when Kenny Stay and Trevor St. Clair connected on a touchdown pass on the opening driving. Then as the half was nearing the end Kenny Stay would connect with Jordan Keleher for second touchdown pass. The North Stars would add another one late. Then Red & Black would get there lone touchdown with 1:30 left in the game. The North Stars will look to ride the momentum into their game next weekend on the road against the New York Stallions in Hartwick. Gallery

Plattsburgh North Stars Akeem Williams (3) lowers the shoulder and barrels over a Amsterdam Zaphyrs defender at midfeild. The Plattsburgh North Stars would contuine there winning ways as they weny back on the road for the first in six weeks and get there 5th win a row. The North Stears would get a 14-8 victory after the Zephyrs marched the ball down the feild on the openning drive the North Stars defense would close up the ranks and hold them the rest of the game. The North Stars would answer with touch of there in the first half on two short runs from Zack Blocker and Kenny Stay. With the win it ensure that next weekend's game when the North Stars travel to Syracuse it will be a game for first place. Gallery

Renegade wins 11,000lb Altered Stock Tractors

Jason Vander Weert and Renegade take part in the 11,000lb Altered Stock Tractor class and wins the class with a 340' pull to give him the win and 2010 11,000lb Altered Stock Tractor Championship. The Essex County Fair Tractor Pull would bring an end to the 2010 Adirondack Truck & Tractor Pullers Association season. One the last day of the season there would be 75 entries spread over 13 different classes. Gallery

Tyler North and his Ford 9000 with a wheel standing run during the 13,00lb Farm Stock Tractors class. The annual tractor pull at the Essex County Fair would mark the end of the 2011 tour on the Adirondack Truck and Tractor Pullers season. There would be 50 entries that would be split up through out the 15 different classes that would be ran. It was deffenately a great show that got done just before sundown.Gallery

Bill Dean clinches the 2.6 cheater truck class

Bill Dean with his 2005 Chevy in the 2.6 cheater puts down a run that would be good enough to clinch him the first ever class championship that the Adirondack Truck & Tractor Pullers have offered for this class congratulations Bill Dean. The birth place of the Street Legal Truck Pull for the Adirondack Pullers would make its annual return to the Essex County Fair in Westport, NY there would be around 50 entries that would be split up into 11 different classes range from pure stock trucks all the way up to Pro Stock 4x4 purpose built pulling trucks. Bill Dean slips and slides down the track during the 2.6 Cheater Street Legal Trucks as the rain would turn the track into a mud pit. The annual truck and tractor pull at the Franklin County in Malone was scheduled for 32 classes would be cut short about half way through as the rain would start coming and there was no let up and the track was a complete wash. Nothing like a triple hit in the center of the track to get the first hear under way between the Jary Marshall (99) and Jamie Dustin (00) and Chris Mossow(53). The on the other side the Corey Marshall (39) smacks in the back quarter panel of the Tom Baubiltz (33). It was annual return of the smack'em up, bang'em up, crash'em up do it all over again as the demolition derby made its return. There be around 90 cars spread out over seven heats. Gallery

cardinals steals second base ahead of tag by miner

Plattsburgh Cardinals (21) slides in safe on the stolen base as the ball would skip pass Lyon Mountain Miners short stop. The Cardinals would jump out to an early 5-0 lead after the first two innings that they would never give up. They would get one in the first inning and then put up a four spot in the second inning. The Miners would chip away at the lead by getting two in the third and fourth inning. The score would remain that until the seventh when the Cardinals would get a insurance run on a sacfrice fly tp take the lead 6-4. The Cardinals would hold that lead for the rest of the game and take game 1 of the best of three series. They will look to close out the championship next weekend at Bailey Avenue.Gallery

Plattsburgh North Stars Kevin Gibson (53) with the high shoulder tackle on the right side that brings down the Green Jacket wide reciever right in his tracks. The Plattsburgh North Stars would get the convincing victory over a long time rival the Glenns Falls Green Jackets with a 22-0 win and also win back the Mayors Cup. The North Stars would strike for two quick touchdowns in the first quarter and take a 14-0 lead on a Trevor St. Clair and Zack Blocker scores. The score would remain that until midway through the fourth quarter when Eilsa Park would punch a touchdown on the goal line and convert a two pointer on a bad snap of the extra point. Gallery
