The Miners would chip away at the lead by getting two in the third and fourth inning. The score would remain that until the seventh when the Cardinals would get a insurance run on a sacfrice fly tp take the lead 6-4. It was the season opener for the Empire Football League season and the defending champions would start on the road taken on a return to team to the Albany Metro Mallers There would be no scoring in this very physical contest until the second quarter when the North Stars would take a 3-0 lead on a field goal and hold the lead to the half. The Metro Mallers would take a 6-3 lead on a three yard touchdown pass nearing the end of the third quarter. Then in fourth quarter the Metro Mallers would strike again on a 23 yard touchdown pass to take a 12-3 lead. The North Stars would strike back on the next drive when Kenny Stay would find Jordan Keleher in the end zone for a four yard touchdown pass. The Metro Mallers would put the icing on the cake when they would score on a 70 yard touchdown to secure the 19-10 victory. With the lose the North Stars start the season off at 0-1 and will be at home next weekend to take on the Montreal Voyagers while the Albany Metro Mallers will be hosting the Watertown Red & Black. Airborne Speedway Padres Jeffrey Norton (8) tags out the leap attempt by the Cardinals to score in the late innings of game one. It was opening day in the Champlain Valley Baseball League (CVBL). As the Airborne Speedway Padres would host the Plattsburgh Cardinals in a double header at Saranac High School. The opening game would be a great game that saw the Cardinals score three runs in the sixth to tie the game and forces extra innings. In the extra innings the Cardinals would get one in the top of the eighth then bottom of the innings the Padres would load the bases with no outs and then Cardinals would get a strike out and then a double play on line drive that was tattooed back up the middle as the Cardinals hold on to the 4-3 win. In the second game the Cardinals would get one in the second as that would be all the needed as they go on for the 4-0 shut out victory. With opening weekend in the books the Padres fall to 0-2 on the season and the Cardinals have the early lead at 2-0.Gallery

Plattsburgh State Cardinals Donny Coolidge (26) slides in safe under the tag at home during game 1 of there doublwheader with Fredonia State Blue Devils. The Cardinals would go on to get the sweep of the Blue Devils winning both games by a score of 2-1. Game 1 the Cardinals would win in dramatic finish with a walk off single in the bottom of the ninth. Jason Docking low liner shot on net

Plattsburgh State's Jared Dockings (#39) takes low liner shot on the goal that got steered aside by the Norwich goaltender. In a game that would be rough and tumble through out the Cardinals would come up on the short end of the stick losing 3-2 in overtime. Norwich would get the opening goal to take a 1-0 lead after the first. Then in the 2nd period the Cardinals would tie it up at 1. Then just a few minutes later the Cadets would take the lead back 2-1 lead. Then in the final minute of the 2nd period the Cardinals would tie the game back up at 2. That is where the game would stay until the Cadets got the game winner with 2 minutes remaining in overtime on a very questionable power play. With the lose the Cardinals season would come to end in the NCAA Quarterfinals with a final record of 20-8-1. Gallery

The Plattsburgh State Cardinals pose for there team photo after defeating the Fredonia State Blue Devils 4-1 in the SUNYAC's Finals to claim there 20th SUNYAC Championship.The Cardinals would have a 2-0 lead after the first period on goals by Eric Satim and Cody Adams (Game Winning Goal). The Cardinals would strike for two more in the 2nd period to increase there lead to 4-0 after two periods on goals by Ryan Franan and Dylan Clarke. Fredonia State would break up shut out late in the third period to finishing off the scoring. With the win the Plattsburgh State Cardinals have earned a spot at in the NCAA Tournament and will wait to see who there oppenent will be. Gallery

Then in the overtime period with 8 minutes remaining Jason Docking would send the home crowd home happy with the game winner of a rebound. The start of the Pro Open heat race was very tight with the top racers tight together over the table top jump in front of the crowd. The first stop for the East Coast Snocross in Plattsburgh had its second day of action. The major show of the day would be the Pro Open division with some of the best snocross racers in the nation at the event. Mathieu Morin with the Ski-Doo from Quebec would complete the weekend sweep in the pro class by beating Dave Allard at the finish.
