The Plattsburgh Cardinals would meet up with the Middlebury Panthers in a non conference tilt at the field house. The game would start of go for the Cardinals as it would tied at three after the first quarter with goals from Justin Wise, Kevin Litchauer and Jake Carroll. Although the remainder of the game would be all Panthers as the Cardinals would get outscored 18-2 with the two goals from Zach Gill and Connor Wolff. In the losing effort Joe Falco would make 17 saves as the Cardinals go to 6-7 on the season. Gallery

Matt Shepherd (9s) and Billy Dunn (49) battle for the lead off the restart side by side through turn 1. It would be the opener of the Super Dirtcar Series and they would return to the Can-Am Speedway for the first time in ten years. It would be the Thunder in the Thousand Island with 41 cars showing up for the Super Dirt Week Qualifier. Everyone's emotions were up for the season opener and it would be evident in the feature race as 31 cars would start and only 16 would finish do to multipile wrecks throughout the race cuasing major damage to many cars ending there night early. Although when the dust settled Matt Shepherd would be the winner of the 10 thousand dollars and the all important automatic qualifying spot for Dirtweek in October. Shepherd's major challenge on the day would come from Billy Dunn and Mat Williamson but they were only able to hang with him for a few laps off the restarts and then Sheppard would slowly just pull away. Plattsburgh Hornets Vs Canton Golden Bears
April 10th 2019

Plattsburgh's Joey Jamison (26) with the kick save on the low shot to do his best to keep the team in the game early. The Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Canton Golden Bears in section x boys lacrosse action. The game would not start good for the Hornets as they would be down 3-0 after the 1st quarter. In the second quarter they would be outscored 2-1 with the goal from Joshua Laravia and be down 5-1 at the intermission. When the teams came back for the second half the game would only get worse as they would be outscored 8-0 and fall 13-1 to the Canton Golden Bears. In the lose the Hornets fall to 0-3 on the season and there next game is on the road against the Potsdam Sandstoners. Gallery

Adirondack Thunder Vs Worcester Railers
April 7th 2019

Goal

Adirondack's Matt Salhany (2) with the wrister that slides past by Worcester's Mitch Gilam (35) for the go ahead goal. The Adirondack Thunder would host the Worcester Railers in the season finale of the East Coast Hockey League. The Thunder would get the first goal of the game halfway through the first period on the goal by John Edwards. The game would stay there til the 2:35 of mark of the second when the Railers would tie the game at one and then eventually take the 2-1 lead at 7:25 of the period. The Thunder come right back and tie the game up a minute later and John Edwards gets his second goal of the game. The Railers would not give up and tie the game back up halfway through the period at 3-2 and take that into the third period. The Thunder would tie the game up at three just three minutes into the third period on the James Henry goal. Then just 90 seconds later Matt Salhany would score to give the Thunder the 4-3 lead. The lead would last til the last 90 seconds when the Railers would score with the extra man to force overtime. In the overtime it would not be the Thunders game as Railers would score two minutes in as the Thunder would fall 4-3 in overtime. In the losing effort the Thunder would lock up the second seed in the ECHL playoffs and host the Manchester Monarchs. Gallery

Overkill Evolition and Mike Vaters II with some great two wheel skill on the stoppie that he road for like half the floor. It would be the annually Monster Spectacular from the Olympic Stadium in Montreal with 14 trucks in attendance Wadded Up, Bucking Bronco, Avenger, Brutus, Rage, Axe, War Wizard, Anger Management, Rat Nasty, Loud and Dirty, Overkill Evolution, Black Stallion, Backdraft, and Muddy Girl in front of nearly 30 thousand people. The night would start off with the two wheel skills contest and when it was all said down the winner was Overkill Evolution. Then it was on to racing with the 14 truck single elimination bracket and when it was brought down to finals it would be Overkill Evolution over Backdraft after Backdraft had upset Avenger in the Quarterfinals. Then it would be the ever popular freestyle and the top runs of the night would be War Wizard with the big air performance and Overkill Evolution with the all around lets just tear the truck down. When it was all said and done Overkill Evolution would get the win for the clean sweep on the night. Gallery

Plattsburgh Hornets Vs Ogdensburg Blue Devils

Plattsburgh's Hunter Laravia (18) with the hard check on the Ogdensburg attacker knocking the ball lose before he got the shot away. The Plattsburgh Hornets would have there third game of the week as they would host the Ogdensburg Blue Devils in section x action. It would be a rough start for the Hornets as they would be down 5-0 after the 1st quarter. In the second quarter the Hornets would do there best to make it a game but would lose the quarter 6-4 and trail 11-4 at the intermission. When the teams returned for the second half the Hornets still had no answer for the Blue Devils as they would be outscored 9-1 in the half and lose the game 20-5. In the losing effort the Hornets would fall to 1-2. As they head into there game on April 10th against Canton. Gallery

Plattsburgh Hornets Vs Milton (VT) Yellow Jackets

The Plattsburgh Horners pose for a team photo as they celeberate there first win in program history. The Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Milton (VT) Yellow Jackets in a non league tilt. The game would be tight for the first quarter with the teams trading goals and be tied at 1-1 scoring for the Hornets was Corbin Murray. In the second quarter the Hornets would start to pull away as they would score three times coming from Ethan Vaughn, Michael Graves and Hunter Laravia. In the second half it would be a very low scoring with the only goal coming from Plattsburgh's Michael Graves to secure the 5-1 win. In the winning effort Michael Graves scored twice as the Plattsburgh Hornets would win and get there first win in program history and go to 1-1 on the season. The Hornets return to action Thursday evening with a game against the Canton Golden Bears as they return to league action. Gallery

Plattsburgh Hornets Vs Massena Red Raiders
April 1st 2019

Goal

Plattsburgh's Ethan Vaughan (27) with the shot on net for the first ever goal for Plattsburgh would score there first ever goal as a member of section X lacrosse. In there first ever game as a member of Section X the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Massena Red Raiders. It would be a very low scoring game. The Red Raiders would strike in the second quarter with 2 goals and take the 2-0 lead into the intermission. When the teams came back for the second half there would be no change as the Red Raiders would get one more to take the 3-0 lead in the fourth. In the fourth quarter the Red Raiders qould get another and take a 4-0 lead. Then in the final couple minutes of the game it would happen the Hornets would get there first goal as a section x member from Ethan Vaughan to make it a 4-1 goal. Although the Hornets would as they would add one more with 17 seconds left in the game from Corbyn Birch. Although it would not be enough as the Plattsburgh Hornets would fall 4-2 and start there season at 0-1. Although there will be little rest for the Hornets as they are right back it tomorrow with a game against the Milton (VT) Yellow Jackets. Gallery

Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs New England College Pilgrams

Goal

Plattsburgh State's Stephen Kane (11) fires the in close shot to the top shelf for the goal. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the New England College Pilgrams in front of 150 fans in non conference action. The Cardinals would set the tone early in the game with four unanswered goals in the first quarter with two coming from Jack Carroll for the 4-0 lead. In the second quarter the Cardinals would extend there lead with a 4-1 quarter with two goals from Jack Mullen for the 8-1 lead at the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter the Cardinals would outscore them 3-1 and have a 11-1 lead headed into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter the Pilgrams would actual win the quarter 4-2 as the Cardinals had backed off the throttle and the Cardinals would hold on for the 13-5 victory. #2 Cornell Big Red Vs #3 Clarkson Golden Knights

The Clarkson Golden Knights were crowned the 2019 ECAC Hockey Men's Champions and for the first time sense 2007. The 2019 ECAC Hockey Championships Finals would come down to #2 Cornell Big Red and the #3 Clarkson Golden Knights and also would be a pair of top ten teams in the country vying for the conference automatic bid into the NCAA Championship at the Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid in front of 5700 fans. The Big Red would get the important first goal of the game from Noah Bauld at the 7:29 mark of the first period. Although in a matter four minutes between period the twelve and sixteen minute mark of the first period Devin Brosseau would get two powerplay goals and give the Golden Knights a 2-1 lead after the first period. The game would remain there for the longest time as both teams were very evenly matched. Although with just under six minutes left in the game the Big Red tie the game up on the Tristan Mullin goal and would be enough to send the game to overtime. In that overtime period it was starting to look like we might be heading for a second overtime until Chris Klack would knock in the rebound and give the Clarkson Golden Knights 2019 ECAC Championship for the first time sense 2007. Plattsburgh State's Frankie Porcaro (2) and Cortland State's Hannah Lorenzen (17 battle for control on the face off a midfield. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would open up there first season in the SINYAC conference with a game against #15 Cortland State Red Dragons ub front of 150 fans. It would be a rough one for the Cardinals as they would give up fourteen unanswered goals in the first half and trail 14-0 at the intermission. In the second half the Cardinals would get the first goal of the half from Emily Caoili. Although the joy would be short lived as the Red Dragons would get seven more unanswered and secure the Cardinals defeat at 21-1. In the losing effort Alexa Cassidy and Kaitlyn Boyea-Gynup would combine for ten saves as the Cardinals go to 1-6 on the season. Gallery

#2 Cornell Big Reds Vs #8 Brown Bears

The #2 Cornell Big Red would meet up with the #8 Brown Bears in the semi-final of the ECAC Championships at the Herb Brooks Arena in front of 4800 fans. The Big Red would open the first period with three goals setting the tone early with three goals in the period including two goals on one major powerplay with goals coming from Matthew Nuttle, Noah Bauld and Tristian Mullin. In the second period the Big Red would extend there lead to 4-0 on a goal from Morgan Barron on the powerplay at the thirteen minute mark. In the third period the Big Red would score two more from Joe Leahy and Kyle Betts to secure the 6-0. In the winning effort Matthew Galajda would make 30 saves in a shutout effort as they would advance to the ECAC Championships finals and face the winner of Clarkson and Harvard. Gallery

The #3 Clarkson Golden Knights would meet up with the #4 Harvard Crimson in the semi-finals of the ECAC Championships demi-finals at the Herb Brooks Arena in front of 4800 people, The Golden Knights would open up the scoring just 2:30 into the game on the Haralds Eagle goal. Then just over three minutes later the Knights would extend there lead to 2-0 on the Anthony Callin goal. The game would stay there till the thirteen minute mark when the Golden Knights would score again this time from Nicco Strum for the 3-0 lead. The Crimson would answer right back a minute later on the Adam Fox goal to make it 3-1. Then just over a minute into the third period Harvard's Jack Rathbone would score to make it a 3-2. Although the Golden Knights were having nothing of it as they scored twice from Jack Jacome and Jordan Schneider to secure the 5-2 victory. In the winning effort Jake Keily would make 26 saves as the Golden Knights advance to the finals of the ECAC Championship against the #2 Cornell Big Red. Gallery

Adirondack Thunder Vs Reading Royals

Adirondack's Hans Gorowsky (18) with the quick flip on the low corner fgor his first ever goal. The Adirondack would finish off a three game weekend home stand with the Reading Royals as they make a late season push for the top spot in the north division in front of 2900 fans. The lone goal of the first period would come from the Royals Kevin Goumas at 6:37 of the period for the 1-0 lead. As for the second period the Thunder would tie the game up at the seven minute mark on the Kelly Summers goals right off the face off. Then the Thunder would pull ahead 2-1 at the 11 minute mark on Hans. Gorowsky goal his first goal as a profesional. Although the Royals would answer back with 2 power plays goals in the final 90 seconds of the period from Josh McDonald and Chris McCarthy to give the Royals the 3-2 lead as we entered the final period. In the final period it would take the Thunder til four minutes left in the game before they would score and tie the game up on Hans Gorowsky second career goal and second of the night. The Thunder would take the 4-3 lead 38 seconds later on the Dylan Walchuck goal and the Thunder would get two empty net goals to secure the 6-4 victory and get the rare 6 point weekend. In the winning effort Hans Gorowsky would score twice with his first two pro goals and Cam Johnson would make 29 saves on the night in an emergency start. Gallery

The Adirondack Thunder would host the Newfoundland Growlers on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Night. The battle would be on between the Thunder and Growlers as they fight for first in the division. The Growlers would get the opening goal of the game 1:55 in from Zach O'Brien for the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there till the 6:36 mark of the second period when Brian Ward would score to tie the game at one. The Thunder would take the 2-1 lead on the Kelly Summers goal at the thirteen minute mark. Then in the 16th minute mark the Thunder would extend there lead to 3-1 on Connor Reilly first goal of the night. In the third period the game would turn into a shootout as both teams would score three times. Although scoring for the Thunder would be Brian Ward and Connor Reilly (twice) to complete the hat trick on the night and give the Thunder a 6-4 victory. In the winning effort Connor Reilly would lead the way with three goals as the Thunder get with in nine points of the division lead headed down the stretch. Gallery

The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Norwich Cadets in the programs first ever home game as the they begin the first year of competition. The game would start out very good for the home Cardinals as they would have the 8-5 lead after the first half. In the second half there lack of experience would hurt them though as they couldn't hold the lead and lose the half 6-2 and the Cadets would get the 11-10 victory. In the losing effort Frankie Porcaro and Reece Wiley would lead the way with three goals each as the Cardinals fall to 1-2 on the season. Gallery

The Plattsburgh State Cardinals celebrates as they return to the national final four for the eight year in a row. The #2 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #6 Williams Ephs in the Quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III Women's Hockey Championshup. The Ephs would take the quick 1-0 lead nineteen seconds into the game. The game would remain there til the 3:08 mark of the second period when Cardinals Madison Walker would tie the game at one. Then just over a minute later the Cardinals would take a 2-1 lead on Holly Schmelzer goal. The Ephs would tie the game at two with a powerplay goal with four minutes left in the second period. The Cardinals would regain the lead at 3-2 just a minute later on the Mackenzie Millen goal. The game would stay there til the eight minute mark of the third period when the Ephs would score and tie the game at three. Then the Cardinals would come back and take the lead back again at 4-3 on Nicole Unsworth goak at the twelve minute mark. The Cardinals would take a 2 goal lead at 5-3 45 seconds later on Mackenzie Millen second goal of the night to secure the 5-3 victory. #2 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs Endicott Gulls

The celebration is on as the Cardinals win in overtime. The #2 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Endicott Gulls in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The game would start of good for the Gulls as they would score 4:37 into the first period for the 1-0 lead. The Gulls would strike again just under five minutes left to have the surprising 2-0 lead. Although the Cardinals would come out of the locker room fired up and Courtney Moriarty would score four minutes into the period to cut the deficit in half at 2-1. The game would remain there until there was 8:19 left in the game when Annie Katonka would score on a scramble play in front of the net for a 2-2. The Cardinals would fight for the remainder of the period with no success. The game would head to overtime although we would not be there very long as the Annie Katonka would send the home fans home happy 45 seconds in for the 3-2 win. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals pose for there team photo as they are crowned the 2019 Northeast Womens Hockey League champion for the second year in a row. The #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #3 Cortland State Red Dragons in the 2019 N.E.W.H.L. Championship. The Cardinals would take the early 1-0 lead four minutes into the first period from Erin McArdle. The Cardinals would extend the lead to 2-0 in the last few seconds of the first period on the Hanna Rose goal. In the second period Courtney Moriarty would get the goal at 6:34 for the 3-0 in the second period. Then three minutes later Annie Katonka would score to make it 4-0 Cardinals. Then in the final minute of the period Taylor Whitney would score for the 5-0 lead. That would end the scoring as there was nothing in the third period and the Cardinals would get the 5-0 victory to claim the 2019 NEWHL Chanpionship. The top seeded Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the 4 seeded Oswego State Lakers in the semi-finals of the NEWHL Hockey Tournament at the Field House in front of 500 people. The Cardinals would get the lone goal of the first period on the power play from Nicole Unsworth for the 1-0 lead after one. In the second period the Cardinals would get three goals in the period from Kaitlin Drew-Mead, Madison Walker and Mackenize Millen for the 4-1 lead after the second period. The Cardinals would strike again in the third period for three more goals from Courtney Moriarity, Annie Katonka, and Nicole Unsworth (second of the night) to secure the 7-1 victory. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals celeberate as they beat Brockport State to advance in the SUNYAC Tournament. The #3 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #6 Brockport State Golden Eagles in the Quarterfinals of the SUNYAC Tournament. The Golden Eagles would take the early 1-0 lead just 2:17 into the game. That would be the only scoring all the way til the 6:48 mark of the third period when Matt Araujo would score to tie the game at one. The Cardinals would take the lead just 80 seconds later on Cole Stallard's goal to make it a 2-1 Cardinals lead. The Cardinals would add a empty netter in the closing minute from Ross Sloan to secure the 3-1 victory. It would be a bad between top ten teams in nation as the #3 Plattsburgh State Cardinals and the #10 Middlebury Panthers in front of 500 fans. The game would remain scoreless until the 1:33 mark of the second period when the Cardinals would take the 1-0 lead on Kaitlin Drew-Mead goal. The Cardinals would expand there lead to 2-0 on Abby Brush's breakaway goal at the 6:43 mark of the third period. The Panthers although would cut the lead in half with under five minutes to go to make the reminder intense. Although the Cardinals would put the game away in the last minute on a empty netter from Annie Katonka to secure the 3-1 victory. Siena Saints Vs Quinnipac Bobcats

Siena's Kadeem Smithen (5) in flights takes shot with the Quinnipac defender all over him as part of a five point night. The Siena Saints would host the Quinnipac Bobcats in MAAC action as they battle for second in the conference. The Bobcats would completely dominate the Saints throughout the first as they would 39-24 at the half. In the second half it would be completely different as the Siena would battle all the way back and tie the game up with a 51-36 half to send the game to overtime tied at 75. In the the overtime the Saints would hit one near the end to send it to a second overtime at 86. In that second overtime the Bobcats would hit a three pointer as time expired to send us to a third overtimme tied at 93. In that third overtime the Saints just ran out of as gas they Bobcats win the overtime 14-7 to secure the 107-100 victory. In the lose the Saints fall to 13-14 on the season as Jalen Pickett would lead the way with 46 points. Gallery

The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would end there regular season against arch rival #3 Oswego State Lakers in SUNYAC action. The Cardinals would get the opening goal of the game at the 7:59 mark of the first period from Christian Difelice. The Cardinals would waste no time make it 2-0 just 36 seconds later on Ryan Kuhn's goal. The game would remain there all the way til the third period when the Lakers would score at the 9:38 nark. From there the Cardinals would fight to keep the one goal lead and get the 2-1 victory. In the winning effort Jimmy Poreda would make 32 saves as the Cardinals finish the season at 12-11-2. The Cardinals would strike quick on Andrew Pizzio's goal at 1:34 of the first period to make it 1-0 Cardinals. Then at the 5:50 mark the Cardinals would extend there lead to 2-0 on Phillip Middleton's goal. Then with 6 minutes left in the period Ian Keller would score for Cortland to cut there lead in half at 2-1. The game would stay there til nine minute mark of the second period when Cam Owens would score for the Cardinals to regain the 2 goal lead at 3-1. Then just about two minutes later the Cardinals would score again to make 4-1. That is where the game would stay til the 11 minute mark of the third period when Cole Stallard would score for the Cardinals and secure the 5-1 victory. The #9 Cornell Big Red would host the St. Lawrence Saints in ECAC Hockey action at Lynah Rink in front of just over 3900 fans. Michael Regush would give the Big Red the early 1-0 lead five minutes into the game on the power play. As for the game it would be SUNYAC foes Plattsburgh State Cardinals hosting the Cortland State Red Dragons as they battle for second place in the conference. The Cardnals would use the home court to take the early control of the game as they would race out to the lead and have a 49-39 lead at the intermission. When the teams came back for the second half the Red Dragons would do there best to make a game out of it and win the second half 38-32. Although it would not be enough as the Cardinalsd would take the 71-67 victory. In the winning effort the Cardinals would go to 18-4 while Jonathan Patron would lead the way with 23 points. In the second quarter the Eagles would play scrappy and win the quarter 17-11 and the Cardinals would trail 28-26 at halftime. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Cardinals would play shutdown defense and win the quarter 12-8 and the Cardinals would take a 38-36 lead into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter the Cardinals would hold serve with a 16-14 quarter and the Cardinals would secure the 54-50 victory. The Cardinals wouldn't waste anytime as they would get three goals in the first period from Ashley Songin, Annie Katonka and Nicole Unsworth for the 3-0 lead. In the second period the Cardinals would strike for two more coming from Mackenzie Millen and Annie Katonka to make it a 5-0 Cardinals lead. The Cardinals would add one more in the third period from Moe Tsukimoto to secure the 6-0 victory. There would be eight monster trucks at event along with the quad racers. The monster trucks would compete in Racing, 2 Wheel Skills, Dounts and Freestyle action. As for the quad racers and would compete in standard and obstacle course racing. As for the winners on the day in monster trucks it would be Grave Digger in racing and 2 Wheel Skills, Stinger Unleashed in Dounts and Scooby Doo in Freestyle. As for the quad racing it would go to Stinger Unleashed in Obstacle Racing and Bad News Travels Fast in Racing action. When the dust would settle on the day the Stinger Unleashed would be crowned the Overall winner and take the early lead in the season championship. Gallery

It would be a tight game through the first quarter where the Bears had the slim one point lead at 14-13. When the teams were out for the second quarter the Cardinals would would step it a little bit and win the quarter 16-13 to take a 29-27 lead into the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Bears were not going to let the Cardinals walk away and they would win the quarter 22-17 and the Bears would lead 49-46 after the third quarter. In the fourth quarter though the Cardinals would get the last word and win the quarter 26-20 and get the 72-69 victory. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals celebrate as they are crowned the 2019 W.B. Mason Winter Classic champions. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the St. Anselm Hawks in the 2019 W.B. Mason Winter Classic Championship in front of 1400 people. The Cardinals would strike first and fast as Pat Egan would score just 55 seconds into the game for the 1-0 lead. The Hawks would fight back and tie the game at one with a first period goal at 14:00 with the Mike Ferraro goal. That would be all the scoring on the night through regulation and overtime and the game would finish tied at 1. Although because of the tournament the teams went to a shootout and in the fourth round Pat Egan would send the home folks home happy with the game winner. The St. Anslem Hawks and the Manhattanville Valiants would face off in the semi-finals on the W.B. Mason Winter Classic. The Valiants would draw first blood with a goal at 1:19 from Matt Lippa for the 1-0 lead in the first period. The Hawks would come back and tie the game at 10:47 of the first period on the Dave Almendia goal. The Valiants would regain the 1 goal lead with 13 seconds left in the first period on the Matt Lippa second goal of the night. When the teams came back for the second period Matt Lippa would finish of the hat trick with the goal at 4:30 of the period. The Hawks would cut the lead in half with the goal by Bryan Green at 17:04 of the second period at 3-2. The Hawks would tie the game up at 3 as Sean Verrier scores in the final minute of the period. When the teams came back for the third period the Hawks would score twice in the first 6:30 of the period for the 5-3 lead. Then with 4:30 left in the game the Valiants Eric Berglund would score on the shorthand to make it a 5-4 game. Although the Hawks would ice the game away with the empty netter for the 6-4 victory. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Connecticut College Camels in front of 1400 fans in the W.B. Mason Winter Classic Semi-Finals. The Cardinals would get the opening goal of the game from Mike Falanga at 15:37 of the first period for the 1-0 lead. Then over the next over the next 1:45 the Cardinals would add two more goals from Charles Barber and Jesse Neher and the Camels would add one as we well to make it a 3-1 game. Thats where the game would stay til the 4:13 mark of the second period when Ryan Kuhn would score to make it 4-1. Then at the 11:21 mark of the period Ryan Kuhn would score on the powerplay to make it a 5-1 game. The Camels would strike back two minutes later with a goal of there to make it 5-2. Although that would be all the scoring on the night as the teams went scoreless in third period and the Cardinals get the 5-2 victory. With the win the Cardinals advance to the finals of the W.B.
