When the teams came back for the second half Bat Co would try and keep it interesting but North Country Auto Glass would be to much as they would win the half 20-15 and secure the 41-15 victory. Plattsburgh State's Jesse Neher (22) with the one timer that he uses to put the Cardinals on the board. It would be rivalry game of the season as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host #4 Oswego State Lakers in SUNYAC play. The Lakers would get the opening goal of the game at 8:20 of the first period from Michael Gillespie. The game would stay there til the 7:48 mark of the second period when the Lakers would score on the power play thanks to Mitch Emerson to make it 2-0. Then at the 15:38 mark the Lakers would score twice in 23 seconds from Joseph Molinaro and Mitch Herlihey to make it 4-0. The Lakers would add another one at 3:44 of the third period to make it 5-0 from Cameron Berry. Then the Cardinals would do there best to make a game of it as Phillip Middleton would make it 5-1 at 9:18 of the third period. Then at 13:13 Jesse Neher would strike to make it a 5-2 game. The #3 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Trinity Bantams in non conference hockey action. This would be a even game for the most part. The Cardinals would finally break the ice in the scoring department at 9:24 of the third period when Ashley Songin would score to make it 1-0 Cardinals. Then at the 12:02 mark of the third period the Cardinals would extend there lead to 2-0 on Melissa Sheeran's goal. Then in the final minute of the game the Cardinals would add an empty net goal from Megan Kraus to secure the 3-0 victory. It would be a tight game throughout with two high scoring offenses as Show Me Your TD's would have the 28-26 lead at the break. In the second half the offense would continue as North Country Auto Glass would win the second half 19-13 and secure the 45-41. #3 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs Potsdam State Bears

The #3 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Potsdam State Bears in New England Women's Hockey League action. The Cardinals would take the early 1-0 lead at 3:37 of the first period on Cortney Moriarty's goal. Then in the closing seconds of the first Annie Katonka would score to make it 2-0 Cardinals after the first period. When the teams came back for the second period it would be more of the same for the Cardinals. As the Cardinals would score three times with goals coming from Melissa Sheehan (twice) and Mackenize Millen for the 5-0 lead. In the third period the Cardinals wouldnt let up as they would score three more times. It would be the finals of the UNO Classic as former conference foes the #2 Plattsburgh State Cardinals host the #3 Elimra Soaring Eagles. The Eagles would get the opening goal of the game at 12:03 of the first period from Katie Granato. The Eagles would extend the lead to 2-0 on Durnell's goal at 18:16 of the first period. The Cardinals would immediately make it a one goal game again on Courtney Moriarty's goal 22 seconds later. The Cardinals would come out firing in the second period and tie the game up at 2 30 seconds into the second period on Mackenize Mullen's goal. Although just over two minutes later the Soaring Eagles would regain the 3-2 lead on Emma Crooker's goal. The Eagles would add a empty netter in the closing minute to secure the 4-2 victory. In a game that would live up to all the hype it would be the defenses that would be on display. The lone goal of the game would come from Courtney Moriarty on a scramble play in front of the net with seven seconds left in the first period. That would be all the Cardinals would need as they hold on for the 1-0 victory behind 28 saves from Kassi Abbott. It would be the third place game of the Cardinal Classic as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would take on the Clarkson Golden Knights. The game would be tight from the start as the Golden Knights would have the 19-16 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter the Cardinals would fight back and win the quarter 16-12 and have the 32-31 lead at intermission. When the teams came back for the second half the Golden Knights would regain the lead by winning the quarter 15-13 and have the 46-45 lead. In the fourth quarter the Golden Knights would be to much for the Cardinals as they won the quarter 18-14 as the Cardinals fall 64-59. Plattsburgh State's Frannie Merkel (20) drives the lane and takes the chop to the neck as she goes to lay it off the window. It would be opening night for the Plattsburgh State Cardinals Women's basketball team as they host the Plymouth State Panthers in the first round of the Cardinal Classic. It would be a very even game throughout the first quarter as the Cardinals would have the slimest of leads at 12-11 at the end of the first. The Panthers would comeback and inch ahead as they would win the quarter 19-13 and have a 30-25 lead at the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Panthers would inch further ahead as they win the quarter 12-11 and have a 42-36 lead as they ahead into the fourth. In the fourth quarter the Cardinals would do the best to make up the difference but it wouldn't be enough as they would tie the quarter at 17 and fall in the game 59-53. #7 Moriah Vikings Vs #2 Cambridge Indians

It would be the #Moriah Vikings hosting the #2 Cambridge Indians in the Quarterfinals of the New York State Class D Tournament. The Indians would get the scoring started early on a 54 yard run by English 37 seconds into the game for the 6-0 lead. The game would remain there til 1:24 of the second quarter when Vikings Matt Pelkey would tie the game up at 6 on a one yard run. The Indiand would regain the 12-6 lead on a 7 yard run by Dean at 6:31. Then in the closing minute of the half the Vikings would score on a 1 yard run by Dewey Snyder to take the 14-12 lead to intermission. When the teams came back for the second half the Indians would regain the lead at 18-14 on a 1 yard run from Dean at 6:08. Although the Vikings would not be denied as they would retake the 20-18 lead on a 46 yard touchdown pass to Dewey Snyder. Although from there on it would be the Indiand game as they would score 36 unanswered points helped by four Vikings turnovers. It would be a match up between the top two ranked teams as #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #2 Norwich Cadets. The Cadets would get the quick opening goal as Sophie McGoven would score 29 seconds into the game. The Cardinals return fire and score two goal just over a minute apart at the four minute mark from Kayla Meneghien and Courtney Moriarty for the 2-1 lead. The Cadets would tie the game at two at 5:06 on the Muranda Toews goal. The game would remain there til the 3:57 nark of the third period when Sophie McGovern would score on the power play to make it 3-2. Then at the 10:11 mark the Cadets would double there lead on the Bryn Labbe goal. The Cardinals would keep fighting and would get a goal late from Kayla Meneghien second goal of the night. Peru Indians Vs Gouvenour Wildcats

It would be the opening round of the New York State Class B Tournament as the Peru Indians would meet the Gouvenour Wildcats.. The Wildcats would open up the scoring on a long run to make it 8-0 2:07 into the first quarter. The Indians would come right back on a 60 yard run by Kasen Brennan 36 seconds later to make the score 8-6. The Wildcats would score on there first play of the next drive to to extend there lead to 16-6. Then just 30 seconds later the wildcats would score again to extend there lead to 22-6. The Indians would cut into the deficit on a 59 yard pass to Robert Reynolds at 3:35 to make it 22-12. The game would stay there til the 5:32 mark of the 2nd quarter when Austin Carpenter would score on a 6 yard pass to make it 22-18. Although the Wildcats would march right down the field and score on a 15 yard touchdown pass at 9:28 to make it 28-18. Although the Indians would come back and make it 28-25 with 1 second left in the half on a 8 yard pass to Carson Cunningham to make it 28-25 t the half. Although when the team teams returned for the second the Wildcat offense would prove to be to much for the Indians as they would out score them 27-6 as the Indians would fall 57-31. It would be the 1st Round of the New York State Class D Tournament and it would feature the #10 Moriah Vikings against the Tupper Lake Lumberjacks. This would be a game that would be in doubt from the opening kickoff as Moriah would have a 37-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. Scoring in the first quarter would by Dewey Snyder (2 running touchdowns), Rob Flack (2 running touchdowns) along with number 29. In the second quarter Moriah would would slow up there attack and only get one score from Sam Gangi for the 44-0 lead at the half. In the second half it would be more of the same as the Vikings would win it 13-6 and secure the 57-6 victory. It would be the Section X Class D Championship as the #1 seeded Chateaugay Bulldogs would face the #2 seeded Madrid Waddington Yellow Jackets. The Bulldogs would get a challenge from the Yellow although it would not be enough as the Bulldogs would win in straight sets 3-0 (25-14,25-15,25-20). With the win the Bulldogs go to the State Playoff tournament starting next wweek as they play the winner from Section II. Gallery

It would be a rematch of last years Section VII Class C Championship as the Saranac Chiefs would meet up with the Saranac Lake Red Storm. The Chiefs would get the scoring going as Keegan Wood would score on the 32 yard run to make it 7-0. Although as the quarter ended the Red Storm would score on the 6 yard run from Swanson to make it 7-6. In the second quarter Luke Maye would score twice on 11 and 6 yard runs to make it 21-6 at the half. When the teams returned for the second half the Red Storm would score with 1:13 left in the third quarter on a 26 yard pass to Shipman. Although from there it would be lock down defense on both sides and the Saranac Chiefs would get the 21-12 victory for there first ever Section VII Class C title. With the win the Saranac Chiefs advance to the New York State playoffs and take on Ogdensburg in the first round. Gallery

It would be the #1 Plattsburgh Hornets meeting up with the #3 Peru Indians in the Section VII Class B Championship. This would be a defensive battle between two evenly matched teams. As the Peru Indians would score first with a minute left in the first quarter on Kasen Brennan 6 yard touchdown. The game would stay there til 4:28 left in the second quarter when Jordan Moore would score on a 13 yard pass although the hornets would miss the extra point and the Indians would have a 7-6 lead at the break. When the teams came back for the second half the defenses would stay stout as there would be no scoring. The Peru Indians would get the 7-6 victory and be crowned the 2017 Section VII champions and advance to the New York State Class B Tournament and play the Gouvenour Wildcats. Gallery

The Moriah Vikings pose for there team photo as they are crowned the 2017 Section VII Class D Champions. It would be the Section VII Class D Championship between long time rivals the #1 Ticonderoga Sentinels and the #2 Moriah Vikings. The Sentinels would take the 7-0 lead 5 minutes into the first quarter on Hayden Scuderi's 1 yard run. The Moriah Vikings would get on the board in the last minute of the first quarter on a Rob Flack 6 yard touchdown but they would fail the 2 point conversion and trail 7-6 after the first quarter. In the second quarter the Vikings would take a 14-7 lead on a Connor Anderson 2 yard run at 7:45 of the quarter. The game would stay there all the way til the 8:20 mark of the third quarter when Pelkey would score on the 1 yard run to make it 22-7. Then at the 4:15 mark of the fourth quarter Pelkey would score again for the Vikings to extend there lead to 28-7. The Sentinels would then do there best to make a comeback as they would score 43 seconds later on a 13 yard pass to Michael Dushane to make it 28-15. The Sentinels would keep fighting and with 35 seconds left in the game Michael Dushane would score again to make it 28-22. The Sentinels would then attempt the onside but it would be unsuccessful and the Vikings would get the 28-22 victory. In the winning effort the Moriah Vikings would go to 8-1 on the season and have a meeting with the Tupper Lake Lumberjacks in the New York State Class D First Round. #2 Beekmantown Eagles Vs #3 Peru Indians

Peru's Kasen Brennan (26) carries the defender into the endzone for the winning score with under two minutes left in the game. It would be a classic match this time though in the playoffs as the #2 Beekmantown Eagles would host the #3 Peru Indians in the Class B Semmi-Finals. Peru would get the first score of the game at 8:58 of the first quarter on a 30 yard fumble recovery to make it 7-0. The Indians would extend the lead to 14-0 in the first few seconds of the second quarter on a 7 yard pass to Alex Rine. The Beekmantown Wagles would cut the lead in half on a 38 yard run by Cristobal Arzola to make it 14-7 at 1:58 of the second quarter. Then at the 5:06 mark of the second quarter the Eagles would tie the game at 14 on a 20 yard run by Dylan Hazel. The game would stay there til the 4th quarter when the Beekmantown Eagles would take the 21-14 lead on a 25 yard quarterback keeper from Brandon Belrose. The Indians would march right back down and score on a 10 yard pass to Robert Reynolds although they would miss the extra point to make it 21-20 with 8 minutes left. Then from that point on the game would get very questionable as there was alot of very questionable calls that would go against Beekmantown. With that going on the Indians would get the eventual game winning score with 1:50 left in the game on Kasen Brennan 12 yard run for the 26-21 victory. In the winning effort the Peru Indians go to 2-6 and have a date with the Plattsburgh Hornets for the Class B Championships and the Beekmantown Eagles season comes to a end at 4-4. Gallery

The Red Storm would get the first score of the game from Jarrett Ashton on a 12 yard run to take the 6-0 lead 5:14 into the first quarter. The Red Storm would extend there lead to 14-0 on Jarrett Ashton's 1 yard run in the closing minute of the first quarter. The Patriots would answer back 3:37 into the second quarter with a 2 yard run by Matthew Pray to to make it a 14-6 game. The Eagles would strike right back on a 60 yard run by Cris Arzola to make it 13-7 after the 1st quarter. In the second quarter Eagles Cris Arzola would tie the game on a 51 yard run at 5:12 of the quarter. Then in the final minute of the quarter the Eagles would take the lead on the touchdown pass to Evan Burnell for the 19-13 lead at halftime. When the teams would come back for the second half Austin Carpenter (3) would get the scoring started for the Indians on a touchdown pass at 4:24 of the third to make it 20-19. In the final minute of the quarter Austin Carpenter would strike again to make it 27-19 after the third quarter. The Eagles would strike back and tie the game at 27 just under two minutes into the fourth quarter with Evan Burnell second score to tie the game at 27. Then about half way through the fourth the Eagles would take the 33-27 on Cris Arzola's third score of the game. Then with just under two minutes left in the game the Indians would tie the game at 33 and send it to overtime. In the overtime period the Indians would get the play first and score on Ryan Connell quarterback sneak to make it 40-33. The Eagles would get a chance to match them and force and force another overtime. With that Eagles possession Cris Arzola would score although the Eagles would go for two and succeed and get the 41-40 victory. In the winning effort the Beekmantown Eagles go to 1-1 as the head back on the road against Moriah Vikings. It would be the start of week 2 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season as we have the Plattsburgh Hornets hosting the Moriah Vikings in League action. The Vikings would get the first score of the game in the 1st quarter a run by Connor Anderson for the 8-0 lead. In the second quarter the Vikings would extend there lead to 16-0 on Connor Anderson second touchdown run of the day at 4:38of the quarter. The game would stay there til the 7:26 mark of the third quarter when Jay Sargent would take it 22 yards for the score and make it 24-0. In the fourth quarter the Hornets would get on the board on a 20 yard touchdown pass to Talon Bushey at the 8:10 mark to make it 24-8. Although the vikings would answer right back a short run to secure the 31-8 victory. In the winning effort the Vikings improve to 2-0 as they head home for Beekmantown next week. Saranac's Isaac Graham (88) with the two handed catch headed towards the sidelines for the first down. The Saranac Chiefs would open up there season at home against the Plattsburgh Hornets. The Chiefs would strike quick for the early lead on the 60 yard run by Luke Maye for the 6-0 lead at 1:54 of the first quarter. The Chiefs would extend there lead to 14-0 on a Jacob Nolan 61 yard touchdown at the end of the quarter. In the second quarter the Chiefs would extend there lead to 22-0 on a Andy LaBeau interception for a touchdown. At the end of the Horners would final get on the board to make it a 22-8 Chiefs lead at the break. The Horners would come out and try and make a game of it as they would return a fumble for a score to make it 22-14. Then with about two minutes left in the game the Chiefs would extend there lead 28-14 on a Jacob Nolan score. With that the Chiefs would get the 28-14 win and go to 1-0 as the Hornets fall to 0-1. It would be Dirtcar Championship night presented by P.M. Leary Restoration as all divisions would be in attendance with points champions being crowned in the 358 and Sportsman Modified divisions along with a 2,000 win in the 358 Modified. The competition would be intense throughout the evening with a red flag for a rollover in the 358 Modified and multiple restarts needed in the Sportsman Modifed race to get the first five laps done. When the dust would settle the eventual winners would be Rolland Guay (Strictly Stock), Michael Whalen (Mini-Modified) after winner Clemente Bell was disqualified, Brent Jarvis (Renegades), Connor Cleveland (Sportsman Modified), Stephen Bernier (358 Modified). As for the points champions Connor Cleveland (Sportsman Modified), Chris Raabe (358 Modified) would win the first track championships at Airborne on dirt in 27 years. It would be opening night of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference football season and the Ausable Valley Patriots would host the Saranac Lake Red storm. The Red Storm would get the opening score of the game as Jarrett Ashton would bust out for 61 yards for the 6-0 lead. The would stay there til 3 minutes into the 2nd quarter when Mason Douglas would return a fumble and give the Patriots the 8-6 lead. The Red Storm would answer right back on Jarrett Ashton's second touchdown of the night and regain the 14-8 lead. On the next Patriots possession Matthew Pray would break it 80 yards and the Patriots would take the 16-14 lead back. Although the Red Storm would strike again on a Jacob Shipman 50 yard touchdown reception to give the Red Storm the 22-16 lead at the break. When the teams came back for the second half the Patriots defense would step up and take charge of the game. The Patriors would retake the lead at 24-22 on a Luis Perez 8 yard reception and score with just under 5 minutes left in the third quarter. The Patriots would extend there lead to 30-22 a 71 yard touchdown run for Matthew Pray his second of the game Then with just under 8 minutes left in the game Jarrett Ashton would get his third touchdown of the game and tie the game at 30. The Patriots would regain the lead at 38-30 with 6:30 left in the game on Matthew Pray's third touchdown of the game and secure the 38-30 win. The main event of the evening would be the 358 Modifeds 30 lapper and it would be Chris Raabe would get his 6th win of the season. While on the under-card Thomas Cook would get win 1 in the Sportsman Modifeds, Renegades would be Michael Wright with win 2, Mini-Modifeds Kris Clark with win 7 and Roland Guay with win 4 on the season. Matt McLaughlin (6H) hopes the vroom on the inside of the track as he passes Brett Hearn (20) for the 2nd position. It would be the Northline Utilities 100 at the Airborne Park Speedway as part of the Super Dirt Series on the Road to Super Dirt Week. It would be the Super Dirt Series first trip to Airborne as they just converted over to dirt this and 25 Big Block Modified would show up. The eventual winner would be Larry Wight as they would take the lead around lap 30 and would not be stopped from there even a caution with three 3 laps to go could not slow him down. Rounding out the top three in the race would be Matt McLaughlin and Jimmy Phelps. As part of the the under card crowd favorite Bucko Branham would take his first win at Airborne at on dirt to a thunder-est roar from the crowd Connor Cleveland would get second to keep his point lead and Danny Gagne would round out the top three. Meanwhile in the Mini-Modified Kris Clark would get this third straight win on the season and Michael Whalen and Josh Laporte would round out the top three. Gallery

It would be week 5 of the Airborne Park Speedway season the Revstar Invasion presented by Peru Federal Credit Union. There would be the Airborne 358 Modified, Sportsman Modified, Renegades along with the Revstar Speedsters. The feature events would star with the Revstar Speedsters winner would be the 74s in the 8 car feild. The next feature to hit the track would be 358 Modified for 30 laps it would be great battle up front that would see Gage Morin take the lead with 10 to go from Rabdideau to get his first win of the season. In the sportsman modified division it would be Moises Page gathering his third win of the season. In the Renegade division Brent Jarvis would stay perfect on the season gathering his fifth win of the season while crowd favorite Curtis McGiven would get third his first podium finish in many years. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Plymouth State Panthers in non conference action. The Cardinals would cruise out to a 6-1 lead after the first period on goals from Austin Belz (2), Ryan Hubbard, Ryan Callahan (2), and Jake Carroll. In the second quarter the Panthers would put up more of a fight although the Cardinals would win the quarter 4-3 on goals from Mike Gay, Jake Carroll, Joe Mineau, and Ryan Callahan to have a 10-4 lead at the break. When the teams came out for the second half the Cardinals would show no let up as they win the quarter 4-0 on goals from Ryan Callahan (2), Ryan Hubbard, and Kevin Litchauer for the 14-4 lead. The Bobcats would keep fighting and tie the game back up at 1 on Thomas Adsworth's goal at 16:16 of the second period on the power play. The Crimson would regain the lead on Sean Malone's second goal at 18:56 of the second period to make it 2-1 Crimson. The Crimson would come out in the third period and keep the pressure on and extend the lead on Sean Malone's third goal at 4:04 of the third period to make it 3-1 crimson. Then just over four minutes later the Big Red would extend the lead to 2-0 on Jake Weidner's goal. The game would stay there til the 7:23 mark of the thirds period when Union's Cole Maier would score to make it 2-1 down the stretch. The #8 Beekmantown Eagles would meet up with the Glens Falls Indians in the Quartersfinals of the New York State Tournament. The Eagles jump out to a big lead at 22-5 after the first quarter. In the second quarter the Indians would start to come back winning the quarter 13-10 although the Eagles would have the 32-18 lead at the break. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Eagles wouldn't let up and win the quarter 15-11 and have a 47-29 lead. In the fourth quarter the Indians would do there best to try and comeback winning the quarter 27-19 although it wouldn't be enough as the Beekmantown Eagles hold on for 66-56 victory. Northeastern Clinton Cougars Vs #20 Canton Golden Bears

The Cardinals would jump out to the 5-3 lead after the first quarter on goals from Billy Moller, Ryan Callahan (2), Jake Carroll, and Ryan Hubbard. In the second quarter the Cardinal offfense would step up and win the quarter 7-1 on goals from Ryan Callahan (2), Ryan Hubbard (4) and Ryan Ehli for the 12-4 lead at the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Spartans would do there best to make it a game and win the quarter 3-2 scoring for the Cardinals was Austin Belz and Brad Johnson and take a 14-7 lead into the fourth. In the fourth quarter the Cardinals would put the finishing touches on the game with a 6-0 quarter with goals from Jake Carroll, Mike Gay, Austin Belz, Sean Alder, Logan Lamothe, and EJ Suris for the 20-7 victory. The #1 Plattsburgh Hornets would face off in the Section VII D2 championship with the #4 Beekmantown Eagles at the Plattsburgh Feildhouse. This would be a game between two very evenly matched and would be a defensive game and game where both goals would perfrom great. The lone goal of the game would come wuth 46 seconds left in the first period when Matthew Maggy would tip the shot by Nathan Herbet. That would be all that the Eagles would need as they would hold on for the 1-0 victory. The Cardinals would extend there lead to 2-0 on Melisea Sheeran's goal at 13:49. Then just 17 seconds later the Pioneers would score to keep it a one goal game. The Eagles would have upset on there mind early in the game as they would have a 11-5 lead after the first. In the second quarter the Cougars would start to claw there way back wining the quarter 10-7 although the Eagles would have a 18-15 lead at the break. When the teams came back for the third the scoring would pick up and the Eagles would win the third quarter 16-13 and have a 34-28 lead head to the fourth. Although in the fourth the Cougars would have shutdown defense winning the quarter 12-4. The five schools that would be competing would be Peru Saranac, Ausable Valley, Nortern Adirondack and Beekmentown. It would be a Champlain Valley Athletic contest featuring the Saranac Chiefs and Ausable Valley Patriots it would also be hall of fame night in Ausable. The game would start off tight as the Patriots would hold a one point lead after one at 15-14, In the second quarter the Patriots would open up the game winning the quarter 22-10 and have a 37-24 lead at the intermission. During halftime of the game the Patriots would honor there 2016 Hall of Fame class by inducting Joey Painter, Evan Mouseau, Craig Beizo and the 1994 football team. When the teams came back out for the third quarter they would come out a little slow as the Chiefs win the quarter 8-4 but still trail 41-32. In the fourth quarter the Chiefs would try there best to get back in the game but the defecit would be to much as they tie the quarter at 12 and fall to the Patriots 53-44.
