Robin Branham Crash for Cancer Enduro

Brian Pugh (29NY) poses for his victory lane winners photo with Bucko Branham and Billie Jo Branham as he is crowned the 2nd annual Robin Branham Crash for Cancer Enduro winnter. It would be the second annual Robin Branham Crash for Cancer Enduro at Airborne Park Speedway. There would be a total of 93 cars that would take the green flag for the 150 lap race. When the dust would settle and the checker flag would fly there would be 8 cars still running on the track. There would be multiple red flags on the day to check on drivers and tend to overturned cars. Through it all Brian Pugh would keep his nose the cleanest of all avoid a few close calls and be crowned the eventual winner. Gallery

Plattsburgh Hornets Vs Peru Indians

Plattsburgh's Madeleine Woodward (19) goes one on one with the Peru defender in the offensive zone looking for some space. It would be a crosstown match up in the C.V.A.C. as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Peru Indians. The Hornets would get the opening goal of the game from Madeleine Woodward at the 28th minute as the Hornets would take the 1-0 lead. Then just over a minute later the Hornets would extend there lead to 2-0 as Elisa Rodriquez would find the back of the net. The game would stay there til the second half when the Hornets would extend there lead to 3-0 on the Brina Micheels goal at the 51st minute. Then the Hornets would put the icing on the cake in 68th minute on the Kathleen Sullivan goal to secure the 4-0 victory. It would be a game that would be even throughout with both teams looking for the slight edge over the other. That whole would not come ti the 78th minute when Ryan Kavanaugh would score to give the Hornets the 1-0 lead. The Hornets would hold off a last minute brigade for the 1-0 victory. Gallery

Brandon Ladouceur (15b), Gabriel Cyr (94), and Mike Stacey (23) with some good tight racing off of turn two in the Dirtcar Sportsman Northern Regiona 50 lapper. It would be the last race weekend of the season at Airborne Park Speedway and it would feature the Dirtcar Sportsman Northern Region series along with the Leon Gonyo Memorial race. It would be a great afternoon of at Airborne to bring the season to a close. The winners on the day would be Shawn Walker in the Stritcly Stock, Cam Gadue in the Mini-Modifieds, and Brent Jarvis in the Renegades. As for the big races on the day Alex LaJoie would win the Sportsman Modifed regional race and Stephen Bernier would win the 358 Modified Leon Gonyo Memorial race. Also on this day points champions would be crowned in the Renegades Brent Jarvis, Mini-Modifeds Michael Whalen and in the Strictly Stock it would go to Rolland Guay. Gallery

It would be a C.V.A.C. match up between the Plattsburgh Hornets and Ausable Valley Patriots The Hornets would get the opening goal in the 12th minute from Brina Micheels for the 1-0 lead. The Hornets would extend the lead to 2-0 in the closing minute of the first half when Brina Micheels would get her second goal of the game. The Hornets would jump right out in the second half and extend the lead to 3-0 when Madeleine Woodward would score in the 41st minute. In the 48th minute Madeleine Woodward would strike again for the Hornets to make it 4-0. Then in the 63rd minute the Patriots would get there lone goal of the game to make it 4-1. Then the 71st minute the Hornets would add one more from Tenzin Pema to secure the 5-1 victory. Gallery

In the second half it would be more of the same as the Hornets would add three more goals coming from Abdousabour Tidjami, and Andrew Follmer. As the Plattsburgh Hornets would secure the 9-0 victory. Girls Soccer action as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Beekmantown Eagles. The Eagles would opeming up the scoring in the 25th minute on Alyssa Waters goal. Then in the 36th minutes the Eagles would strike again on Danielle Dyke goal to extend the lead to 2-0 headed into the break. When the teams came back to play the Eagles would pick up where they left off as Alyssa Waters would strike again in the 51st minute to extend the lead to 3-0. The Eagles would get another to extend the lead to 4-0 on the Leah Casey goal in the 72nd minute. Then in the last minute of the game the Eagles would put it away on the Kirsten Villemaire goal to secure the 5-0 win. In the winning effort the Eagles would stay undefeated at 7-0. Gallery

The team would then head to overtime where the Hornets would take the 2-1 lead 6 minutes in. CD Beauchamp (88) battles on the inside of Rob Yetman (7) for the lead and the eventual win of the Dirtcar Pro Stock Series race. It would be Champlain Pterbuilt Dirtcar Pro Stock Series presented by Great Northern Supply. It would be the Dirtcar Pro Stock Series first ever visit to the Airborne half mile and they would have a 35 lap feature. The winner of the feature event would be C.D. Beauchamp after a close battle with Rob Yetman. As for the Sportsman Modified 50 lap feature there would be a lot of early cautions when the dust would settle Dany Gagne. As for the support divisions on the evening Tylor Terry (Renegades), Kris Clark (Mini-Modifed), and Shawn Walker in the Strictly Stock. The Revstar SRT and Slingshots would also be in competition on the evening with wins going to Pierre Hebert and Jim Pollard. Gallery

When the teams came back from the second half the defenses would still be stud as Malinak would win the half and hag on for the 13-6 victory. With the win Malinak go to 1-0 while St. John go to 0-1. Peru Indians Vs Beekmantown Eagles

Beekmantown's Cris Arzola (23) goes up the middle carrying tackles for the first down and would get the eventual game winning tochdown and in overtime. It would be week two of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference and the it would be the classic rival game between the host Peru Indians and the visiting Beekmantown Eagles. The Indians would streak first on the Keagen LaGrave (26) 6 yard run half way through the first quarter for the 6-0 lead. The Indians would strike strike again when Keafan LaGrave would score on the pass play with 2 minutes left in the 2st quarter to make it 13-0. The Eagles would strike right back on a 60 yard run by Cris Arzola to make it 13-7 after the 1st quarter. In the second quarter Eagles Cris Arzola would tie the game on a 51 yard run at 5:12 of the quarter. Then in the final minute of the quarter the Eagles would take the lead on the touchdown pass to Evan Burnell for the 19-13 lead at halftime. When the teams would come back for the second half Austin Carpenter (3) would get the scoring started for the Indians on a touchdown pass at 4:24 of the third to make it 20-19. In the final minute of the quarter Austin Carpenter would strike again to make it 27-19 after the third quarter. The Eagles would strike back and tie the game at 27 just under two minutes into the fourth quarter with Evan Burnell second score to tie the game at 27. Then about half way through the fourth the Eagles would take the 33-27 on Cris Arzola's third score of the game. Then with just under two minutes left in the game the Indians would tie the game at 33 and send it to overtime. In the overtime period the Indians would get the play first and score on Ryan Connell quarterback sneak to make it 40-33. The Eagles would get a chance to match them and force and force another overtime. With that Eagles possession Cris Arzola would score although the Eagles would go for two and succeed and get the 41-40 victory. In the winning effort the Beekmantown Eagles go to 1-1 as the head back on the road against Moriah Vikings. With the lose the Peru Indians fall to 0-2 on season as they will host the 0-2 Saranac Lake Red Storm. Gallery

Moriah's Dewey Snyder (24) runs over Plattsburgh's Justin Moore (4) as he fights for extra yards on the toss play. It would be the start of week 2 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season as we have the Plattsburgh Hornets hosting the Moriah Vikings in League action. The Vikings would get the first score of the game in the 1st quarter a run by Connor Anderson for the 8-0 lead. In the second quarter the Vikings would extend there lead to 16-0 on Connor Anderson second touchdown run of the day at 4:38of the quarter. The game would stay there til the 7:26 mark of the third quarter when Jay Sargent would take it 22 yards for the score and make it 24-0. In the fourth quarter the Hornets would get on the board on a 20 yard touchdown pass to Talon Bushey at the 8:10 mark to make it 24-8. Although the vikings would answer right back a short run to secure the 31-8 victory. In the winning effort the Vikings improve to 2-0 as they head home for Beekmantown next week. While the Hornets fall to 0-2 and will host the Saranac Chiefs next week. Gallery

Saranac Chiefs Vs Plattsburgh Hornets

Two hands

Saranac's Isaac Graham (88) with the two handed catch headed towards the sidelines for the first down. The Saranac Chiefs would open up there season at home against the Plattsburgh Hornets. The Chiefs would strike quick for the early lead on the 60 yard run by Luke Maye for the 6-0 lead at 1:54 of the first quarter. The Chiefs would extend there lead to 14-0 on a Jacob Nolan 61 yard touchdown at the end of the quarter. In the second quarter the Chiefs would extend there lead to 22-0 on a Andy LaBeau interception for a touchdown. At the end of the Horners would final get on the board to make it a 22-8 Chiefs lead at the break. The Horners would come out and try and make a game of it as they would return a fumble for a score to make it 22-14. Then with about two minutes left in the game the Chiefs would extend there lead 28-14 on a Jacob Nolan score. With that the Chiefs would get the 28-14 win and go to 1-0 as the Hornets fall to 0-1. Travis Bruno (91ny) catches the back of John Lutes (959) coming off of turn four after he had caught the wall and starts to roll down the front stretch. It would be Dirtcar Championship night presented by P.M. Leary Restoration as all divisions would be in attendance with points champions being crowned in the 358 and Sportsman Modified divisions along with a 2,000 win in the 358 Modified. The competition would be intense throughout the evening with a red flag for a rollover in the 358 Modified and multiple restarts needed in the Sportsman Modifed race to get the first five laps done. When the dust would settle the eventual winners would be Rolland Guay (Strictly Stock), Michael Whalen (Mini-Modified) after winner Clemente Bell was disqualified, Brent Jarvis (Renegades), Connor Cleveland (Sportsman Modified), Stephen Bernier (358 Modified). As for the points champions Connor Cleveland (Sportsman Modified), Chris Raabe (358 Modified) would win the first track championships at Airborne on dirt in 27 years. Next week the track will be back in action on Sunday September 10th as the Dirtcar series Pro Stock and Sportsman Modified tour come to town. Gallery

Ausable Valley Patriots Vs Saranac Lake Red Storm
September 1 2017

Ausable Valley's Jason Fletcher (21) with the leaping catch over the middle although the catch didn't count because of a holding penalty still 100% effort. It would be opening night of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference football season and the Ausable Valley Patriots would host the Saranac Lake Red storm. The Red Storm would get the opening score of the game as Jarrett Ashton would bust out for 61 yards for the 6-0 lead. The would stay there til 3 minutes into the 2nd quarter when Mason Douglas would return a fumble and give the Patriots the 8-6 lead. The Red Storm would answer right back on Jarrett Ashton's second touchdown of the night and regain the 14-8 lead. On the next Patriots possession Matthew Pray would break it 80 yards and the Patriots would take the 16-14 lead back. Although the Red Storm would strike again on a Jacob Shipman 50 yard touchdown reception to give the Red Storm the 22-16 lead at the break. When the teams came back for the second half the Patriots defense would step up and take charge of the game. The Patriors would retake the lead at 24-22 on a Luis Perez 8 yard reception and score with just under 5 minutes left in the third quarter. The Patriots would extend there lead to 30-22 a 71 yard touchdown run for Matthew Pray his second of the game Then with just under 8 minutes left in the game Jarrett Ashton would get his third touchdown of the game and tie the game at 30. The Patriots would regain the lead at 38-30 with 6:30 left in the game on Matthew Pray's third touchdown of the game and secure the 38-30 win. In the winning effort the Patriots start there season at 1-0 while the Red Storm fall to 0-1. Gallery
