The Plattsburgh State Cardinals pose for there team photo as they are crowned the 2014 NCAA Division III Women's Hockey Champions and for the third time overall. The 2014 NCAA Division III Women's Hockey Championship would come down just the way it should as it would be the top two teams in the country the Plattsburgh State Cardinals and Norwich Cadets. The Cadets would jump out to the 1-0 lead at the 8:30 mark of the first period on Madyson Moore's goal. The Cardinals would come right back and tie the game up at one on Bridget Bailsey's goal just 90 second later. The Cardinals would take the lead 2-1 on Julia Duquette's goal at 13:13 of the first. Then just about 90 seconds the Cardinals would make it 3-1 on Chelsea VanGahlan's goal. The Cardinals would strike on more time before the period ended on Bridget Bailsey's second goal of the night to make it 4-1 after the first period. In the second period the Cardinals would keep the tempo up as Jordan Caldwell scores at 8:11 to make it 5-1 Cardinals. The Cardinals would keep it going in the third period as Chelsea VanGalhan would get her second goal of the night at 2:26 of the third to make it 6-1 Cardinals. The Cardinals would strike again at 6:58 on Jenny Kistner's goal to make it 7-1 Cardinals. Then in case the game was in dought Jordan Caldwell would get her second of the night at 16:58 to make it 8-1. The Cadets would make the score a little better when Haley Gibson would score to make it 8-2 at 18:26. The Cardinals would answer back in the last minute on Ali Vakos goal to secure the 9-2 victory. In the winning effort Sydney Aveson would make 37 saves on the night as the Cardinals are crowned the 2014 NCAA Champions and for the third team in team history. Gallery

#1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs #6 St. Thomas Tommies

The Plattsburgh State Cardinals celeberate at center ice as they adavance to the National Championship with a overtime goal. In the NCAA Semi-Finals it would be a east vs west showdown as the #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #6 St. Thomas Tommies. It would be a great game between two evenly matched teams that both would have there chances. When it was all said and down though there would just be on game scored in the game as Allison Era would light the lamp with 4:49 left in overtime on the power play to give the Cardinals the 1-0 win. In the winning effort Sydney Aveson would get another shutout victory as she stopped all 30 shots on the night as the Cardinals advance to the National Championship against the #2 Norwich Cadets. NCAA Quarterfinals
#1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs #10 Williams Ephs

GOAL

Plattsburgh State's Ali Vakos (77) with the tap in goal along the goal line as part of a four goal night. The #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #10 Williams Ephs in the Quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament. The Williams Ephs would be looking for the upset as they would score just 1:15 into the first period on Gabrielle Vukasin goal to give the Ephs the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there til there was 1:27 left in the first and Ali Vakos would tie the game up at one. The Cardinals would make some obvious adjustments as Ali Vakos would score just 28 seconds into the second for her second of the night and give the Cardinals the 2-1 lead. Then at the 12:11 mark of the second period Ali Vakos would finish off the natural hat trick and give the Cardinals the 3-1 lead. Then just 31 seconds into the third period Ali Vakos would strike again and have a texas hat trick for the 4-1 lead and from there the Cardinals would hold on for the win. In the winning effort Sydney Aveson would make 24 saves on the night and the Cardinals head to the final four next weekend where they will take on St. Thomas. Gallery

Adirondack J's Vs Pink Panthers

Adirondack J's Eric Labonte (21) with the catch in the endzone and takes a shot form Pink Panther's Trevor St. Clair for his efforts. It would be week five of the second session of the Indoor Flag Football League as the Adirondack J's would play the Pink Panthers. The tempers would deffenately show up during the game as the Adirondack J's would have a 38-16 lead after the first half. In the second half the Pink Panthers would do there best to get back in the battle and win the half 29-22. The defecit would just to much to overcome as the Adirondack J's would get the 60-45 win. It would be week 5 of the indoor flag football season and you would have a battle of the unbeaten teams as Kneucraft would meet up with CJ Tunes & Photography. The CJ Tunes & Photography would get off to the good start and have the low scoring 12-8 lead at the break. When the second came around the Kneucraft team would start there comeback and win the quarter 19-7 and get the 27-19 win. Gallery

The Plattsburgh State Cardinals pose for there team photo as they are crowned the 2014 ECAC-West Champions for the second year in a row. The #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #2 Elmira Soaring Eagles in the Championships of the ECAC-West Conference. The Cardinals would take the 1-0 lead at 9:04 of the first on Giovanna Sense's goal. The Soaring Eagles would come right back and tie the game up at one just 55 seconds later on Ashley Ryan's goal. The Cardinals would take the lead back at 1:35 of the second period on Alyssa Parke's goal to make it 2-1. Although the Soaring Eagles would come back and tie the game up again at 14:35 of the second on the power play on Anna Tude's goal. The Soaring Eagles would take there first lead of the game at 3:41 on Erin Weston's goal to make it 3-2 Soaring Eagles. The Cardinals and Shannon Stewart would come back and tie the game at 3 at 7:03. Then the Cardinals would regain the lead at 4-3 on Tyne Gove's goal at 9:48 and from there on they would hold on for the 4-3 victory. In the winning effort Sydney Aveson would make seventeen saves as the Cardinals now head to the NCAA Tournament for another run at a national title. Gallery

New York State Class B Quarterfinals:
#12 Saranac Chiefs Vs #4 Taramac Bengals

Saranac's Kayla Napper (12) splits the defenders and lays it off the window for the score. The #12 Saranac Chiefs would play the #4 Taramac Bengals at the Plattsburgh State Field House in the Quarterfinals of the New York State Class B Tournament. After the first quarter the Chiefs would have slim 17-16 lead. In the second quarter the Bengals would heat up some and win the quarter 17-11 and take the 33-28 lead at the intermission. When the teams came back for the third the chess match would be on as they tied for the quarter at 11 giving the Bengals 44-39 lead into the fourth. In the fourth quarter the Chiefs couldn't overcome the Bengals as they Bengals win the quarter 17-13 and win the game 61-52. With the lose the Chiefs season comes to an end at 15-4. Gallery

Plattsburgh Hornets Vs #2 Ogdensburg Blue Devils

The Plattsburgh Horners would play the #2 Ogdensburg Blue Devils at the Plattsburgh State Field House in the quarterfinals. The game would start out close as the Blue Devils would have a 27-22 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter the Blue Devils would start to pull away as they had a 31-8 quarter and took the 58-30 lead at the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter it would be more of the same the Blue Devils win the quarter 25-8 and take a 83-38 lead into the fourth. In the fourth quarter the Blue Devils would call off the attack and the Hornets would win the quarter 11-9. Although it would not nearly be enough as the Blue Devils get the 92-49 win. #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs #4 Utica Pioneers

Plattsburgh State's Shannon Stewart (18) comes in on the break and puts the puck pass the goalie for the score. The #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #4 Utica Pioneers in the ECAC-West Semi-finals at Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena. The game would remain scoreless until the 11:09 mark of the first when Alyssa Parke would light the lamp on the power-play to maske it 1-0 Cardinals. The Cardinals would extend there lead to 2-0 just over two minutes later on Bridget Bailsey's goal. Thehn with just 21 second left in the first the Cardinals would make it 3-0 on Shannon Stewarts goal. The game would stay there til 1:50 of the third period when Morgan MacInnis would score to make it 4-0 Cardinals. The Cardinals would extend there lead to 5-0 on Tyne Grove's goal at 6:03. The Cardinals would put the final touches on it just over a minute later on Jordan Caldwell's goal to make it 6-0. The Pioneers would avoid the shutout with just under three minutes left on Mackenzie Roy's goal. As the Cardinals get the 6-1 victory and advance to the ECAC-West Championship and take on #2 Elimra with the title on the line. Gallery

#7 Moriah Vikings Vs #6 Fort Edwards Forts

The #7 Moriah Vikings would play the #6 Fort Edwards Forts in the first round of the New York State Class D Tournament. The Vikings would come out and the start of good and have a 12-8 lead after the first. In the second quarters the Forts defense would step up and win the quarter 15-10 and the Forts would have a 23-22 lead at the half. When the teams came back for the third the Forts would build on the lead and win the quarter 18-15 and take a 41-37 into the fourth. In the fourth the Forts would put the finishing touches on the game with a 12-8 quarter to give them the 53-45 victory. With the lose the Vikings season comes to an end at 19-1. Gallery

#5 Moriah Vikings Vs #2 Argyle Scots

The #5 Moriah Vikings would play the #2 Argyle Scots at the Plattsburgh State Field house in the first round of the New York State Class D Basketball Tournament. The Vikings would jump out quick and have a 14-4 lead after the 1st quarter. The second quarter would be more of the same the Vikings win the quarter 14-9 and have a 28-13 lead at halftime. When the teams came back for the second half the Scots would regroup although the third would be a tie at ten giving the Vikings the 38-23 lead into the fourth. In the fourth Scots would do there best to cut into the Vikings lead but a 15-10 quarter would not be enough as the Vikings get the 58-48 win. With the win the Vikings go to 20-2 and head to the quarterfinals saturday against Madrid-Waddington at SUNY Canton. Gallery

#2 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs #3 Oswego State Lakers

It would be a rematch of last week as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Oswego State Laker. This time the steaks would be higher as it would be in the SUNYAC Semi-Finals and for the right to play for the championship. The game would remain scoreless until the 2:49 mark of the second period when Alex Jensen would score to give the Cardinals the 1-0 lead. The game would stay there til the 6:24 of the third when Mike Montagna would tie the game at one. The Lakers would take the 2-1 lead at 10:15 on Josh Timpano's goal it would end up being the winnter as the Cardinals fall 2-1. The Vikings would win the second 13-12 and have the 25-16 lead at the half. When the teams came back for the third it would be the same as the Vikings win the quater 11-8 and have 36-24. The Eagles would de there best to keep it close they won the quarter 13-12 although the Vikings would win the game 48-37. #1 Seton Catholic Central Vs #2 Ticonderoga Sentinels

The #1 Seton Catholic Knights would play the #2 Ticonderoga Sentinels in the Section VII Championship at SUNY Plattsburgh. The Sentinels would have a slight 11-7 lead after the first. The Knights would win the second quarter 13-10 and cut into the lead at 21-20 Sentinels at the half. The Knights would make a good run in the third and win the quarter 16-8 and take the 36-29 lead headed into the fourth. In the fourth the Sentinels would try and keep it close but the Knights would win the quarter 15-12 and win the game 51-41. The Hornets would jump out to a big lead at 25-6 lead after one. The Patriots would battle back in the second and win the quarter 19-10 the Hornets would still lead 35-25 at the break. In the third the Patriots would keep fighting back and win the quarter 19-11 and cut into the deficit at 45-44. In the fourth fatigue would set in on the Patriots as the Hornets win the quarter 20-12 and secure the 66-56 win.
