The Beekmantown Eagles rush home plate and the party is on as Brandon Rabideau scores the game winning run on Zack Myers walk off single to give them the section VII title. The Beekmantown Eagles and Peru Indians would face off for the Section VII Class B title at Chip Cummings Field for the right to go the state playoffs. The Indians would take the 1-0 lead in first to get everything strarted. The Indians would extent it to 3-0 in third. Then in the bottom of the third the Eagles would get right back in the game and tie it at three with three runs of there own. The Indians would regain the lead at 4-3 in the fifth. Although the relentless Eagles would tie it back up in the 6th to make it 4-4. Then the big drama would come in the bottom of the seventh when Zack Myers would get the game winning walk off single that would score Brandon Rabideau to give the Eagles the 5-4 win and Section VII Title. Getting the win on the mound for the Eagles would be Brandon Rabideau. With the win the Beekmantown Eagles now head to state play where they play Schalmont on June 3rd at Chip Cummings Field. Beekmantown's Austin Bradish (12) picks the short bunt fires to first from his backside for the out. The #1 Beekmantown Eagles hosted #4 Northeastern Clinton Cougars in Section 7 Semi-Final action. The Cougars would out to the quick 1-0 lead after the first. That is where the score would remain until the third when the Eagles would bounce back with three runs to take a 3-1 lead. The Cougars would come right back in the fourth and score two runs to tie the game at 3. Then om fifth the Eagles would take back the lead at 4-3. Then in the sixth they would add an insurance run to secure the 5-3 win. Getting the win for the Eagles would be Austin Bradish as he struck out three and gave up four hits three walks and three runs. With the win the Eagles advance to the finals against the Peru Indians at Chip Cummings Field on May 30th. Gallery

Chateaugay's Rachel Young (3) slides in safe at the plate under the tag of the Madrid-Waddington catcher at the plate on a pass ball. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the Madrid-Waddington Yellowjackets in Section X Class D Quarterfinal playoff action. The Yellowjackets would start off with upset on there mind as they would get single runs in the first and second inning to take a 2-0 lead. Then the Yellowjackets would get two in third to make it 4-0 Yellowjackets. Although in the bottom of the third the Bulldogs would get on the broad with 3 runs to make it 4-3. They would then pull ahead in the bottom of the fourth with four runs to make it 7-4. Then before the fifth could be started the rains would come and the umpires would hold the game up and later suspended due to unplayable field condition. The game was schedulded to be resumed on May 23 but rain would postpone the game again and now schedulde to be restarted on Tuesday May 28th. Gallery

Peabodies Matt Rivers (88) ranges far to the his right to pick the grounder behind second for the fire to first for the out. The Peabodies Padres would take on the Meron's Expos in Week 3 of the Champlain Valley Baseball League. In game one the Expos would take the 1-0 lead in the first inning. The game would stay there till the fourth when the Expos would add four more runs to extend the lead to 5-0. The Expos would get two more in the fifth to secure the 7-0 victory. Getting the win for the Expos Billy Davis would pitch the shutout giving up just four hits and striking out two. As the teams would return for the second game the Padres would take the quick 1-0 lead on Jeff Norton's RBI double. The score would stay way until the third when the Padres would get three runs thanks to Matthew Hart's two RBI single and Brady Burleigh's RBI single to make it 4-0. The Expos woud do there best to get back in as they cut the lead in half with two runs in the fourth couldn't get any closer though. As the Padres would get the 4-2 win to earn the split on the day. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the Parishville-Hopkinton Panthers in doubleheader east division action. The Bulldogs would make easy work of the Panthers in the opening game as they would take the 22-9 victory. Then when the teams would return for the second game the Panthers would give them a better fight although the Bulldogs would still get the 9-2 victory. With the wins the Bulldogs will secure a first round home game as they go to 11-4 on the season. In the winning effort Courtney Boyea would strikes out four. Gallery

In game one the Bulldogs would fall just short by a score of 6-5 thanks to some untimely errors down the stretch. In the second game though they would pull things together and get a convincing 11-4 wins thanks to great pitching from Garett Labare and Nick Ashline. With the split the Bulldogs go to 5-8 on the season as they continue there push for one of the last two playoff spots. Gallery

Beekmantown's Devin Fessette (4) slides in safe under a leaping Saranac Lake short shop at second on steal of second base. The Beekmantown Eagles would host the Saranac Lake Red Storm on Senior Day in a CVAC Division 1 clash. The Red Storm were looking to spoil the seniors last game as they jump out to the 1-0 lead after the first inning. That is where the game would remain until the third inning when the Eagles would get two to take the 2-1 lead. Then in the fourth inning the Eagles would start to take command as they would score times to take the comfortable 7-2 lead as the Red Storm would get one in the top of inning. The teams would trade runs in the fifth to make the score 8-3. Then in the sixth the Eagles would add one more to end the scoring and secure the 9-3 victory. Austin Bradish would go five innings strike of two and give up four hits in the winning effort. Talking to Coach Bell after the game he would like to thank all the seniors for years of commitment to the program and wish them the best of luck in the future. Chateaugay's Courtney Boyea (5) slides in safe at third base as the ball gets away from St. Regis Falls Gardner (4). The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the St. Regis Falls Saints in a double header of softball action inside the eastern division. In the first game the bulldogs would get off to a quick start and get seven runs to take the 7-0 lead. Then in the second they would comeback with five more runs to extend the lead to 12-0. Then they would add two more in the third to make it 14-0. Then they would end the slaughter in the fourth with five more runs to secure the 19-0 win. When the teams would return for the second game it would start with both teams trading runs in the first to make it 1-1. They would do it again in the third inning to make it 2-2. In the fourth inning the Bulldogs would get four runs while the Saints get one to make it 6-3 bulldogs. In the fifth inning the Saints would do there best to get back in it but they would fall short at 6-5. In the winning effort Courtney Boyea would pitch 6 innings and strike out six. The Bulldogs would get a single run in the fourth to make it 4-3 Bulldogs. Then in the fourth the Bulldogs would get two more to make it 6-3. In the fifth the Saints would do there best to make a comeback it would fall short though as they would make it 6-5 Bulldogs take game one. In the second game the Saints would get out to the 1-0 lead after the first. Then in the second inning the Saints would get fourt while the Bulldogs would get one to make it 5-1. Then in the third the Bulldogs would get two more to make it 5-3. Then in the fourth the comeback would be complete as they would get four more to take the 7-5 lead. Then in the fifth they would get three more while the Saints could just mustard one as the Bulldogs would get the 10-6 win. The Saranac Chiefs would host rival Beekmentown Eagles in Section 7 baseball action. The game would remain scoreless until the third when the Eagles would add a run on Justin Stevens RBI single. The Eagles would get a second run in the fourth on Alex Price RBI single to make it 2-0. Then in the fifth the Eagles would explode with elevlen runs thanks to some untimely errors by the Chiefs. The to big blows in the inning would be from Quenton Barber and Brandon Buska each having 2 RBI singles. That would ended it as the Eagles would end up getting the easy 13-0 win. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the Madrid-Waddington Yellow in a double header of east division action. The Bulldogs would score there runs in bunches in both games. In game 1 they would get four in the frist inning to make it 4-0. The Yellow Jackets would get one back to make it 4-1. That is where the game would remain until the fourth inning when the Bulldogs would get five more to secure the 9-1 win. In the win of game one Abby Barnes would lead the offense going 2-3 with 3 RBI's Courtney Boyea would go the distance on the mound in the win striking out six. In game two it would be more of the same as the Bulldogs would get three in the first to make it 3-0. They would add another three in the second to make it 6-0 Bulldogs. The Yellow Jackets would get on the broad in the fourth to make it 6-1. Leading the offense in game two would be Rachel Young as she would go 1-2 with 2 RBI's. The 2013 edition of the Champlain Valley Baseball League would get underway with a rematch of the championship from 2012 as the Peabodies Padres would host the Lyon Mountain Miners. In game 1 of the doubleheader the Padres would take a 2-0 lead in the first. Although the lead would be short lived as the Miners would come back and get 1 in the second. Then in the third and fourth the Miners would get 12 more runs thanks to some uintimely errors by the Padres and game would be called after 5 at 13-3. Game two would be a lot more competitive game as the Padres would have a 5-3 lead entering the six and the Miners would get 1 run in the 6th and 7th to force extra innings tied at 5-5. Then in the 8th the Miners would get three runs to secure the 8-5 victory. With the result of the opening week the Miners are 2-0 while the Padres are 0-2. Gallery

Chateaugay's Abby Barnes (12) with the outstretched catch in foul territory. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the the Norwood-Norfolk Flyers in a unusual doubleheader. As they would play a normal game and then finish a suspended game from a few weeks go. In the first game the Flyers get off to the quick 2-0 lead in the first. The Bulldogs would get a run back in the second to get back with in one at 2-1. Then in the third the Bulldogs would get four and the flyers would get 1 to make it 5-3 Bulldogs and from there on the Bulldogs would not let as they would cruise to 15-7 victory. Then the teams would pick up the suspended game in the fifth with the score 6-5 Bulldogs. The teams would trade runs in the sixth to make it 7-6. Then the seventh the Bulldogs defense would let them down as they would have two pass balls in the seventh allowing the Flyers to get two runs and win 8-7. As the Bulldogs would split the doubleheader there record would go to 3-4 on the season.Gallery

Unfortunately for the Bulldogs it would be more the same a lack of offense and timely errors on defense would hurt them through out the day. The Flyers would get out to a 10-0 lead after the first three innings before the Bulldogs would get on the broad and by that point the game would be decided. The game would remain scoreless until the third inning when the Huskies would erupt with six runs. The game would remain there until the 5th when the Huskies would get five more and make it 11-0. Then in the sixth the Huskies would finish off the game with four more to get the 15-0 victory in six. Leading the way for the Huskies offensively was Morgan Fountain who went 2-3 with 2 RBI's On the mound Abby McCauley would get the complete game shutout victory while striking out eight. #2 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs #3 Brockport State Golden Eagles

Plattsburgh State's Ryan Hastings (21) lowers the shoulder and drives Brockport State's defender to ground the crashing hit. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Brockport State Golden Eagles in the Semi-Finals of the SUNYAC Championship in the programs first very home playoff game. The Cardinals would not show any nerves they would get off a quick 4-2 lead after the first quarter with goals going to Tim Lawrence (twice), James Reed and Nick Travers. The Cardinals would keep the foot on the accelerator as they would take 7-3 lead into the break on goals from Joey Kramer (twice) and Tim Lawrence (third of the day). In the third the Eagles would try there best to get back in the game scoring four goals. Although the Cardinals would answer there four with a five to take a 12-7 lead into the fourth with goals going to Tom Duggan (three times), Anthony Pafundi, and Joey Kramer (third of day). In the fourth quarter the Cardinals would finish off there 15-7 victory with goals from Tim Lawrence (fourth) Joey Kramer (fourth) and Nick Perrella. In the winning effort Gordie Gehring would stop 10 shots. With the win the Cardinals move into there first ever SUNYAC Championship as they will travel to Cortland to take on the undefeated Red Dragons with the automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament on the line.
