#2 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs #3 Geneseo State Knights

GOAL

Plattsburgh State's Jared Docking (39) comes in with the Geneseo defender all over hos back as he slides it under the goalie for the goal to give the Cardinals the 2-0 lead. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Geneseo State Knights in the SUNYAC Semi-Finals at the Ronald B Stafford Memorail Arena. The game would remain scoreless until just 27 seconds into the second period when Dillan Fox would light the lamp to give the Cardinals the 1-0 lead. Plattsburgh State's Jared Dockings would score at the 13:08 mark of second period to make it 2-0. Then with just under two minutes left in the second Kaz Iwanmotto would make it 2-1 at the end of second period. Then just 53 seconds into the third Mark Constantine would score on the power play to make it 3-1. Then at 3:53 Alex Jensen would score on the same power play to make it 4-1 Cardinals. Then with 43 seconds left in third Connor Gorman would add the empty netter to give the Cardinals the 5-1 victory. In the winning effort Mathieu Cardieux would stop 22 of 23 shots on the night as the Cardinals go to 19-6-1 on the season. The Cardinals will now head to Oswego next weekend for the SUNYAC Championship and the automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament. Gallery

Lloyd Clark with the solid kick right under the head that wabbles Andre Gil during the 155lb match at the Battle at Plattsburgh. The Xtreme Combat Promotions would come aross the Lake and bring the first mixed martail arts fight to come to the North Country as they would invade the Crete Civic Center in Plattsburgh. There would be a total of seventeen fights on the night there would be some that would go the distance many of the fights would be called do to knockout or submission. The Crete would have around 1,000 raved mma fight fans from the area that would show up for the bout and they would all leave happy and wanting more. Gallery

#9 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs Cortland State Red Dragons

Plattsburgh State's Connor Groman (11) with the crushing hit along the side broads on Cortland State's Jeff Vanzant (44). The #9 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Cortland State Red Dragons in SUNYAC hockey action. Plattsburgh State's Alex Brenton would give the Cardinals the 1-0 lead at the 10:37 mark of the first. That is where the game would remain until the 1:56 mark of the second period when the Red Dragons would tie it up on Adam Bevilacqua goal. Plattsburgh State's Alex Brenton would light the lamp again at 10:56 mark of the second period to make it 2-1 Cardinals. The Cardinals would get two more goals in the third period from Connor Gorman and Kevin Emmerling to finish of the game and get the 4-1 vitory. In the winning effort Mathieu Cardeiux would stop 20 of 21 as the Cardinals go to 17-6-1. Gallery

Malone Huskies Vs #10 Ausable Valley Patroits

Malone's Rachel Lamica (14) battles for the loose ball with the Ausable Valley player by the foul line. The Malone Huskies would host the Ausable Valley Patriots in non league action as the Huskies finish off the regular season. The game would be a defensive battle through out with both teams holding the other down. The Patroits would have the 14-8 lead after the first quarter. The Huskies would do there best to get in the game and a 20-18 lead at the break thanks to a 12-4 second quarter. Then when the teams returned for the third quarter it would stay tight as the Patroits would win the quarter 15-14 but the Huskies would still have the 34-33 lead. In the fourth quarter the Patroits defense would really step up as they would hold the Huskies to three points and win the quarter 10-3 to take the 43-37 victory. Malone's Rachel Lamica would lead all scorers with 12 points as the huskies fall to 10-7 on the season. Gallery

Deivendorf honored

Malone's Coach Chuck Deivendorf is honored after the game for his 34 years service as the Coach of the Malone Huskies. He recieves a plaque from the Malone Minor Hockey Club for his service. During his time ahead of the Huskies he has earned 308 wins. The Malone Huskies would host the Tupper Lake Lumberjacks in Section X Division II action it would be Senoir Night in Malone. The game would remain scoreless until the 8:14 mark of the second period when Malone's Tanner Studlack would light the lamp on the power play goal. The Huskies would score again on the power play at 12:46 of the second period when Cameron Daniels gets the goal. That would end the scoring for the night as the Huskies get the 2-0 win. The key to the Huskies win would be there ability to score on the power play. With the win the Huskies finish the regular season at 8-11-1. In the winning effort Malone Joey Brown would stop all fourteen shots to record the shutout. Gallery

Section VII Wrestling Championships

Beekmentown's Jon Graziane hits the the cross-face cradle while on the mat. The five section VII schools would meet at Saranac for the 2013 Section VII Wrestling Championship. There would be many good matches throughout the day with many of them going the distances and some needing the extra period. As a team Peru would defend there sectional title with a score of 244, 2nd Beekmentown 203, 3rd Saranac 169, 4th Northern Adirondack 155 and 5th Ausable Valley 79. We would like congrulate all the indivdual winners and wish them the best of luck at the State Championships in Albany at the Times Union Center on February 22nd and 23rd. Gallery

Malone Huskies Vs Brushton-Moria Panthers

Malone's Connor Daily (1) and BBrushton-Moria's Loren Traynor (10) battle for the loose ball near midcourt diving over each other. The Malone Huskies would host the Brushton-Moria Panthers in Section X action. The Huskies would leave little doubt in the game as they would take a 26-2 lead after the first. In the second quarter it would be more of the same as the Huskies would win the quarter 24-6 and take a 50-8 lead at the break. When the teams would return for the third quarter it would be more of the same as the Huskies win the third 24-7 and take a 74-15 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter the Huskies would put on the finishing touches as they would win the quarter 22-6 to get the easy 96-21 victory. In the winning effort Nate Monnette would lead all scores with 21 points. With the win the Huskies finish off the regular season with a 17-1 record and win the central division. Gallery

Malone Huskies Vs Massena Red Raiders

The Malone Huskies senoirs on the basketball and cheerleading teams would hold the flag during the Senoir Night Ceremony before the game. The Malone Huskies would host the Massena Red Raiders in basketball action as part of the Section X Central Division action. The game would be very phyiscails with many fouls called through out the games as both teams were looking for the edge. The Huskies would lead by a slim 20-19 after the first quarter. In the seconf quarter it would be more of the same as the Red Raiders would win the quarter 19-17 and take a 38-37 lead at the break. The third quarter would be were the Huskies would run away with the games as there defense would really step up as the Huskies win the third 19-5 and take a 56-43 lead after the third. The Red Raiders were unable to much of a run in the 4th as the Huskies would get the 75-61 victory. In the winning effort Jon Dubleavey would lead the with 15 points as the Huskies go to 16-1 on the season. Gallery

#12 Chateaugay Bulldogs Vs Parishville-Hopkinton Panthers

The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the Parishville-Hopkinton Panthers in Section X East Division play on Senoir Night in Chateaugay. The Bulldogs would strom there way out in the first quarter to 21-4 lead. Then in the second quarter it would be much of the same as they would take a 34-7 lead into the break. When the teams would return for the second half it would be more of the same as the Bulldogs would cruise to a 51-12 victory. Leading the way for the Bulldogs Courtney Boyea would have 19 points. Coach Chris Reynolds would like to thank all of his senoirs for there time and service on the teams. With the win the Bulldogs would go to 14-2 on the season. Gallery

#11 Chateaugay Bulldogs Vs Parishville-Hopkinton Panthers

Chateaugay's Jake English (10) raises up between two Parishville-Hopkinton players and grabs the defensive rebound. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the Parishville-Hopkinton Panthers in Section X East Division action as part of Senoir Night. The Bulldogs would get off to a quick start as they would have a 21-5 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter they would outscore the Panthers 23-3 and take a 44-8 lead at intermission. In the second half it would be more of the same as the Bulldogs would score the Panthers 17-3 and cruise to the 61-11 victory. In the winning effort Devin Barnes would lead the way with 10 points. Coach Mike mMartin would like to thank all the senoirs for the time and commitment to the program over the years. With the win the Bulldogs go to 13-4 on the season. Gallery

Northeastern Clinton Cougars Vs #10 Plattsburgh Hornets

Northeastern Clinton's Reese Tucker (2) and Plattsburgh's Devin Clarke (17) battle for the loose puck behind the net. The Northeastern Clinton Cougars would travel to Plattsburgh and take on the Hornets is section seven action. The game would remain scoreless until the 13:23 mark of the first when Jack Tolosky would light the lamp for the Hornets and make it 1-0. Then just 21 seconds into the second period the Hornets would score again to make it 2-0 on Alex Maston's goal. Then at the 10:35 mark of the second period the Hornets would score again to make it 3-0 this time on Robbie Knowles goal. That would end the scoring as the Hornets would get the 3-0 win. As for the goalie's Northeastern Clinton's Cody Young would stop 17 of 20 shots while Plattsburgh's Giancaelo Ventre would stop all 19 shots. The Cougars fall to 8-9 as the Hornets improve to 12-5 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Giovanna Senese (20) slides in front of thUtica goalie trying to slide it under the goalies pads. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Utica Pioneers in ECAC-West women's hockey. The Cardinals get off to a quick start when Teal Gove would score just 18 seconds in to make it 1-0 Cardinals. The Pioneers would answer back at 8:18 of the first when Brittany Dellechiaie scores to tie the game at 1. Then just 1:38 into the second period the Pioneers would take a 2-1 lead on Mary Fusco power play goal. The Pioneers would take a 3-1 lead at 3:58 of the second period when Louise Steele Norton scores. That is where the game would remain until the 7:58 of the third period when the Cardinals would cut the defecit to one on Chelsea VanGlahan goal. Then with 4:30 left in the game Shannon Stewart would tie the game up for the Cardinals at three. The teams would go to the overtime and nothing would be resolved and the times would get a draw. With the draw Sydney Aveson would stop 13 of 16 shots as the Cardinals go to 19-0-2. Gallery
