Beekmantown Eagles Vs Brushton-Moria Panthers

Beekmantown's Greg Manney (32) with the fade away jumper in the corner. It would be the first game of the 2013 edition of the Section 7/10 Challenge with the Beekmantown Eagles and the Brushton-Moria Panthers facing off at Plattsburgh. It would be a tight game for most of other then a run that the Eagles went on in the second half extending it to a 17 point lead. The Panthers would do there best to come back although it would fall short. As the Eagles would get the 56-49 victory with the win the Eagles fo to 2-4 while the Panthers fall to 3-3 on the season. Saranac Chiefs Vs Tupper Lake Lumberjacks

Saranac's Jacob Lillendahl (9) comes in on breakaway and fires it over the shoulder of Tupper Lake's Tyler Nilsson for the goal. The Saranac Chiefs would host the Tupper Lake Lumberjacks in a non league match at the Plattsburgh State Field House. The Chiefs would take the 1-0 at the 4:45 mark of the first Kevin Fisher's goal. Then with just over a minute left iin the first the Chiefs would extend the lead to 2-0 Jacob Lillendahl's goal. Then in the first minute of second period the Lumberjacks would get on the board on Elliott Fletcher's goal to make it 2-1. That is where the game would stay til the 12:45 mark when Tupper Lake would tie it up on the power play goal by Chase Bedore. Then just 20 seconds later the Chiefs would take the 3-2 lead with Kevin Fisher's second goal of the night. Then at the 6:06 mark of the third the Chiefs would make it 4-2 on Tristann Archambault goal. Just over two minute later the Lumberjacks would get back within one at 4-3 Elliott Fletchers second goal. Then in the last minute of the game the Chiefs would put the game out of reach on Kevin Fishers third of the night. With the win the Chiefs go to 1-3-1 while the Lumberjacks fall to 0-6-1 on the season. Gallery

Malone Huskies Vs Saranac Chiefs

Malone's Zach Raymond (20) takes flight in the lane and draws the contact from Saranac's John Mayne (22) for the basket. In the last of five games in the Challenge it would be the Malone Huskies and Saranac Chiefs from the Plattsburgh State Field House. This would be a half court game with defenses stepping up to keep there team in the contest after the first half the Huskies would have 24-19 lead on the Chiefs. In the second half the offenses would find some more space and the Huskies would win the half 33-24 to secure the 57-43 win. With the win Huskies go to 7-1 while the Chiefs fall to 3-4 on the season. Saranac Chiefs Vs Beekmantown Eagles

GOAL

Beekmantown's Nathan Foster (55) came in on the breakaway and flips it over the goaltender for one of his three goals on the night. The Saranac Chiefs would host the Beekmantown Eagles at the Plattsburgh State Field House in a Champlain Valley Athletic Conference match-up. The Eagles would take the early 1-0 lead on Ryan Waterbury's goal at the 5:01 mark. Then with under two minutes left in the period the Eagles would extend it to 2-0 Kyle Bisonette's goal. Then inside the final minute the Eagles would score again with Nathan Foster on the shorthand for the 3-0 lead after one. Then early on in the second period Nathan Foster would get his second goal of the night for the 4-0 lead. Then at the 13:33 mark of the second period the Eagles would take a 5-0 lead on Kyle Bissonette's goal. Then just 1:33 into the third period Nathan Foster would finish off the hat trick for the 6-0 lead. Then at 2:54 of the third period the Eagles would finish off the scoring assault to make it 7-0 on Kyle Bisonette's third of the night. The Chiefs would get a late goal in the third period on a scramble play at front as the Eagles get the 7-1 win. With the win the Eagles go to 3-0 while the Chiefs fall to 0-3-1 on the season. Plattsburgh Hornets Vs Northeastern Clinton Cougars

Northeastern Clinton's Nick Ledue (16) swipes the puck and heads down the breakaway for one of his four goals on the night. The Northeatern Clinton Cougars would travel over to Plattsburgh to take on the Hornets in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference how action. The game would be a offensive show of force. The Cougars would get the first goal from Nick Ladue at the four minute mark of the first. Then at 10:53 mark of the first the Cougars would extend the lead to 2-0 on Colby Boire's goal. Then in the final two minutes of the period the Cougars would make it 3-0 Nick Ladue's second goal of the night. The second period would be a carry over of the first when Mason Letourneau would score to make it 4-0. Finally at the 6:12 mark the Hornets would get on board thanks to Eric Bechard to make it 4-1. Then at the 10:03 mark John Fine Lease would score to make it 4-2 and now we have a game. Just over two minutes later it would be a one goal game with Eric Bechard's second of the night. Then with 15 seconds left in the period the Hornets would tie it up at 4 on Jack Tolosky's goal. The Cougars would retake the lead at 5-4 on Andrew Arless goal. Then just twenty seconds later Nick Ladue would add his third goal of the game to make it 6-4. Then in the closing minutes Ladue would add a fourth goal on the empty netter to secure the 7-4 win. With the win the Cougars go to 2-1-1 while the Hornets fall to 2-2 on the season. Gallery

Chateaugay Bulldogs Vs St. Regis Falls Saints

Chateaugay's Seth Young (3) drives the lane hard and draws the contact on the basket as part of 15 point night. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host the St. Regis Falls Saints in Section X East Division action. This early season matchup would see the defenses locking both teams down after the first the Bulldogs would have a 8-5 lead. In the second quarter the defenses would still hold tight as the Saints win the quarter 13-7 and took a 18-15 lead at the break. When the teams came back for the third the defenses would still have the upper hand as the Bulldogs win the quarter 9-5 and take the 24-23 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter the offenses would finally show up as the Saints win the quarter 20-14 to give the Saints the 43-38 win. With the win the Saints go to 6-0 and the Bulldogs fall to 2-3 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh's Dean Dashnaw (30) makes the stick save and brings it into the body to stop play. The Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Niskayuna Mohawks in non league action. The Mohawks would strike first with a goal at 2:30 of the first. Then at 5:55 the Hornets would tie the game up at one on Ryan Whalen's goal. The Mohawks would retake the lead at 7:01 on Josh Kim's at 2-1. Then at 10:33 Ryan Whalen would tie the game back up at two with his second of the night. Then in the last minute of the period the Hornets would take the 3-2 lead Eric Bechard's goal. When the teams came back for the second period the Hornets would take the 4-2 lead at 3:36 on Ryan Whalen's third goal of the day. Then just 14 seconds later the Hornets would make it 5-2 Gavin Giroux goal. The Hornets would make it 6-2 at 5:36 on the Wade Weeden goal. Then the Mohawks would get the last two of the period to make it 6-4 after two. Then just 36 seconds into the third period Kurtis Olsen would get into the act to make it 7-4. Then at 4:06 mark of period the Hornets Eric Bechard would get his third of the day to secure the 8-4 win, In the winning effort Dean Dashnaw would make 13 saves as the Hornets go to 2-1 on the season. It would be week four of the Indoor Flag Football season in the battle of winless teams West Plattsburgh Wolfpack playing the Plattsvegas Packers. The Packers would dominate the first half and have a 34-14 lead at the break. When the teams returned for the second half the scoring would slow down and the Packers would score to the 52-22 victory. With the Packers go to 1-3 while the Wolpack drops to 0-4. Gallery

Rand Hill Painters Vs Plain White T's

Plain White T's wide receiver with the diving catch in the endzone for the touchdown. In week four of the indoor flag football league the 2-1 Rand Hill Painters would play the 0-3 Plain White T's. The Rand Hill Painters would jump out to the quick 20-0 lead 12 minutes in before the Plain White T's would get two scores to stay in the game at 20-12. Then to end the half the Painters would score twice more to have a 31-12 lead at the break. In the second half the Painters would get three unanswered scores to secure the 53-18 win. Panthers' Nick O'Mera with the one hand leaping snag in the endzone for the interception. In week four of the indoor flag football season would season a battle of undefeated Pink Panthers and DB Xtreme. The offenses would take the stage throughout the game and trade shots throughout the first half and the Panthers would have a 34-20 lead at the break. When the teams came back for the second half it would be more of the same as the Panthers would outscore them 40-26 in the half for the 74-46 win. With the win the Pink Panthers stay undefated at 3-0 while the DB Xtreme fall to 2-1-1 on the season. Gallery

Adirondack J's Vs Clinton Gladiators

Adirondack J's Bushey with the leap catch for the interception that he steals from the defender. In week four of the indoor flag football season the 2-0 Adirondack J's would play the 2-1 Clinton Gladiators. In the first half the Gladiators would dominate by scoring three touchdowns for the 21-7 lead. When the teams back for the second the Adirondack J's would settle down and come together to shutdown the Gladiators and out score them 29-14 and get the last minute 36-35 win. Beekmantown's Nathan Foster (55) comes in on net with the shot and scores. The Beekmantown Eagles would host the Niskayuna Mohawks in non league hockey action. The 1st period would be a big one for the Eagles as they would light the lamp five times with five different scores Brandon Buksa, Brendan Davison, Tyler Pepper, Nathan Foster and Kyle Consstanty and have a 5-1 lead after one. In the second period it would be more of the same the Eagles would score just one minute in from Brandon Buksa (2nd of the night to make it 6-1. Then in the 11th minute of the period the Eagles would score twice from Callum Sullivan and Syke Dominy to have a 8-1 lead after two. St. Lawerence Larries Vs Canton Golden Bears

St. Lawrence's Holly Zeldenrust (31) makes the glove save on the breakaway and sends it over the top. The St. Lawrene Larries would play the Canton Golden Bears in Malone as part of the Upstate New York Girls Hockey League. The game would remain scoreless until the second period when Canton's Natalie Giglio would score 41 seconds in to make it 1-0 Golden Bears. The Bears would extend there lead to 2-0 on Margret Troiano goal at 6:11. Then in the last minute of the period the Bears would make it 3-0 on Blake Orosz. When the teams returned for the third it would be more of the same as the Bears score 17 seconds in on Mary Kaite Mace goal to make it 4-0. The Larries would keep fighting though and get a goal two minutes left from Paige Debeer to make it 4-1. The Bears would add an insurance marker in the last minute from Blake Orosz second of the night to get the 5-1 win. Malone Huskies Vs Norwood-Norfolk Icemen

Malone's Joey Brown (30) with the glove save on the low side attempt. The Malone Huskies would host the Norwood-Norfolk Icemen in Northern Athletic Conference action. The Icemen would get the games first tally 4:52 on Austin Cousineau goal to make it 1-0 Icemen. Then at 6:49 mark of the period the Icemen would strike again on Kaden Pickerings poweplay goal to make it 2-0. Then at 11:56 of the first Kyler Head would score for the Huskies to cut the leaad in half at 2-1. The Icemen would answer back though before the period ended to make it 3-1 Icemen at the end of the first. The Icemen would extend the leaad to 4-1 on Colby Munson's power play goal at 7:17 of the second. Then just 30 seconds later Huskies Josh Trombley would keep them within two at 4-2. Then just 30 seonds into the third period the Icemen would extend the lead to 5-2 Colby Munson second goal of the night. Then at 7:44 Autin Cousineau would get his second of the night to make it 6-2. The Huskies would fight till the end and get a late goal by Jake Henning but the Huskies would fall 6-3. In the losing effort Joey Brown would have 32 saves as the fall to to 2-1 on the season. The Malone Huskies would host the Gouverneur Wildcats in Section X Central Division action. The Huskies would hold the slim 11-8 lead after the first quarter. The game would remain tight at the half with the Huskies having a 23-19 lead at the break. When the teams came back for the third quarter the game would stay tight with the Huskies having a 35-30. Then in the fourth quarter both teams offenses would come alive but the Huskies proved to have enough as they outscored them 22-19 for the 57-49 victory. In the winning effort Malone's Alex Johnson would lead the way with 19 points as the Huskies go to 3-0 on the season. Gallery

#10 Clarksn Golden Knights Vs St. Lawrence Saints

Clarkson's Jarrett Burton (20) rifles the shot to the top shelf for the game tying goal in the third period. The #10 Clarkson Golden Knights would host crosstown rival the St. Lawrence Saints in ECACHL action in front of the third biggest Cheel Arena crowd at 3,965. The Saints would get the first goal of the game on the power-play from Jeremy Wick at 6:30 of the first. The Golden Knights would answer and tie the game up at 9:28 of the first on a TJ Moor power-play goal. The Golden Knights would take the lead at 2-1 on Simon Bessette's goal at 14:25 of the first. Then in the last minute of the first Jeremy Wick would get his second power-play goal of the night to tie the game at 2. That is where the game would stay till the last minute of the second period when the Saints would take the 3-2 lead on Matt Carey's goal. Then at 6:09 of the third period Clarkson's Jarrett Burton would tie the game at three. Then on the power-play Jeff DiNallo would give the Golden Knights the 4-3 lead at 10:57. Then just over 30 seconds later the Golden Knights would extend there lead to 5-3 on Troy Joseph's goal. The Saints wouldn't go quite though as Matt Carey would get his second of the night to make it 5-4 with two minutes left in the game. The Golden Knights would hold on from there for the 5-4 win. The Bulldogs would take the early 16-6 lead after the first quarter and not look back. The Bulldogs would extend there lead to 26-15 at the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter it would be more of the same as the Bulldogs would win the quarter making it 40-25. Then in the fourth quarter the Bulldogs would just need to cruise as they would secure the 45-35 victory. Chateaugay's Danielle Charland (1) takes flight along the baseline for the layup basket. The Chateaugay Bulldogs would host there neighbors the Northern Adirondack Bobcats in non-league action. The game would start of tight actually as tight as it could get as they would be tied at 10 after the first quarter. In the second quarter the Bulldogs would pull ahead barely as they would have 25-22 lead at the break. When the teams would return for the second half the Bobcats defense would step in the third quarter as the Bobcats would outscore the Bulldogs 17-5 and take the 39-30 lead after three. The Bulldogs would try there best in the fourth to get back in the game but there efforts would come up short and they would fall 48-39 to the Bobcats. The St. Lawrence Larries would play the Beekmantown Eagles in Upstate New York Girls Hockey in Malone. The game would start out rough for the Larries as they would give up three first period goals. The second period would be more of the same as they would give up another three to make it 6-0. Then in the last period the Eagles would add another two as the Eagles would cruise to the 8-0 win over the Larries. With the lose the Larries fall to 0-1 on the season. The Larries goaltender Holly Zeldenrust would do her best to keep them alive stopping 52 of 60 shots. Gallery

Malone's Bailey Conklin (9) comes in the breakaway late in the third period and slides the puck by Ogdensburg's David Prudhomme (31) from the game winning goal. The Malone Huskies would host the Ogdensburg Blue Devils to get the Section X Hockey season underway. The game would remain scoreless all the way til the third period when Malone's Jake Henning would get the games first goal at 1:10 to give the Huskies 1-0 lead. The game would stay there till the 11th minute of the third when the Blue Devils would tie it up on Jon Taylor's goal. The Huskies would keep scraping though and get the game winner with just over two minutes left when Bailey Conklin would score on the breakaway to give the Huskies the 2-1 win. With the win the Huskies get there season started off right at 1-0. Gallery

The Plattsburgh State Cardinals pose for there team photo as the champions of the 2013 Primelink Great Northern Shootout Champions. The #3 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would play #15 Middlebury in the Championship of the Primelink Great Northern Shootout. The game would start good for the Cardinals as Connor Gorman would light the lamp 3:29 into the game to give the Cardinals the early 1-0 lead. The Cardinals would extend there lead to 2-0 just over two minutes later on Dakota Mason's goal. Then with just under two minutes left in the period would add another one on Michael Radisa goal to give the Cardinals the convincing 3-0 lead after the first period. That is where the game would stay til 11:12 of the third period when the Panthers would get there lone goal from Louis Belisle to make it 3-1. From there on the Cardinals would hold check to get the 3-1 victory and there 4th Primelink Great Northern Shootout Championship. In the winning effort Matthieu Cardieux would make 20 saves and be named the MVP of the tournament. With the win the Cardinals stay undefeated at 8-0-1 on the season. Gallery

The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would meet the Wisconsin-Superior Yellow Jackets in the semi-finals of the 16th edition of the Primelink Great Northern Shootout in Plattsburgh. Plattsburgh's Michael Cassidy would get the home Cardinals on the broad first at 6:31 of the first period to make it 1-0. The Cardinals would extend there lead to 2-0 on Alex Benton's goal at the 9:43 mark. The Yellow Jackets would cut the lead in half at 12;57 of the first period when Anton Stevensson would light the lamp to make it 2-1. The Cardinals would extend the lead back to two just over a minute into the second when Dillan Fox would score to make it 3-1. The game would stay there until the last minute of the game when Alex Jensen would add a empty netter to secure the Cardinals 4-1 victory. The game would remain scoreless until 16:36 Giovanna Senese would light the lamp to make it 1-0 Cardinals on the breakaway. Then just over a minute later the Cardinals would make it 2-0 thanks to Julia Duquette's goal. Then in second period Ali Vakos would strike twice to make it 4-0 Cardinals after two periods. Then in the third period the Cardinals would finish it off with three goals from Bridget Balisy, Jordan Caldwell, and Alyssa Parke for the 7-0 win. The Plain White T's would get the early 7-0 lead. Adirondack J's would answer back though on a Austin Velie touchdown to make it 7-6 at the intermission. When the teams came back Adirondack J's Craig Livsey would strike quick with the interception touchdown to make it 12-7 Adirondack J's. Then just three minutes leader Plain White T's would take the lead back on the touchdown at 13-12. Then at the 10 minute mark Craig Livsey would strike again for his second pick 6 to give Adirobdack J's the 20-12 lead and the score would hold up for the win. The West Plattsburgh Wolfpack and the Clinton Gladiators would meet in the opener and look to get there season started off right. Well for one they would succeed on that mission the other would need to go back to the drawing broad. Clinton Gladiators would score three minutes in on a pick 6 and take the 6-0 lead. Then five minutes leader the Wolfpack would tie the game up at six. Then before the half ended the Gladiators would score twice more and take a 22-6 lead at intermission. Then when the teams came back the Gladiators would score four more unanswered touchdowns and cruise to the 48-6 win. With the win the Gladiators go to 1-0 while the Wolfpack goes to 0-1. Gallery

The score would remain there til two minutes into the second half when CJ's Barber would score to make it 14-0. Rand Hill Painters would get on the broad at the five minute mark to make it 14-7. Then at 15th minute mark Jystin Frennier would score for CJ's to make it 20-7. Then in the last minute they would put the game away with one more score to make it a 26-7 final. Packers' defender would beat DBXtreme's Justin Charland (14) to ball for the interception in the end zone. In the last game of the night DBXtreme would face Plattsvegas Packers to finish off week one. DBXtreme's Jordan Gillespie would get the games first score to make it 7-0 three minutes in. DBXtreme would extend the lead to 14-0 at the ten minute mark. Plattsvegad would get on the broad at 12 minute mark to make it 14-6. Then in the last minute of the half Plattsvegas would score again to make it 14-12 at intermission. When the teams came back for the second half DBXtreme would strike first at the four minute mark to make it 20-12 on Andrew Price's score. Then at the eight minute mark DBXtreme and Andrew Price would strike again to make it 26-12. At the thirteen mminute mark Plattsvegas would make it a one score game at 26-18. Then with three minutes left DBXtreme would put the game out of reach with the touchdown to make it 32-18. Plattsvegas would not give up though as they would score as time expired to make it a 32-24 final. With the win DBXtreme would go to 1-0 while Plattsvegas is 0-1 on the season. Gallery

The North Country Community College Siants would take on the Finger Lakes Community College Lakers in NJCAA Region 3 action. This would be a very high pace up and down game and would be tight throughout. The Saints would trail by a score of 39-31 at the intermission. In the second half the Saints would do there best to keep it a game stay close but they would fall short and lose 79-73. Leading the way for the Saints would be Michael Boyea and Matthew Gullotta with twelve points a piece as the Saints go to 2-3 on the season. Gallery

Beekmantown would take the 7-0 lead on there first drive of the game on a Justin Stevens 11 yard run. Then inside the last minute of the first quarter Justin Stevens would strike again to give the Eagles the 14-0 lead. Peru would get on the broad 11 seconds into the second quarter on a Ryan Lovely 45 yard touchdown reception to make it 14-7. Beekmantown would answer back 4 minutes later on a Devin Fesette 60 yard touchdown run to make it 20-7. Peru's Taylor Avanzato would score on a 5 yard run at 7:52 of the second quarter to make it 20-14. Then to end the second quarter fury Justin Stevens would score from 17 yards out to make it 27-14 with 2.13 left til halftime. In the third quarter Zane Bazzano would have the lone score of a 14 yard touchdown at 8:13 to make it 27-21 Eagles. Then 2:28 Zane Bazzano and the Indians would strike again to give the Indians there first lead of the day. The Eagles wouldn't give up though and after a Indian fumble Justin Stevens would score for his third touchdown of the day to give the Eagles the 33-28 lead and win. In the second game of championship Saturday the Saranac Lake Red Storm would meet the Saranac Chiefs in the Class C Championship. Saranac Lake would have the only score in the first quarter on Dylan Gunther 11 yard touchdown reception with 3:06 left to make it 7-0 Red Storm. Then just 1:19 into the second quarter the Chiefs would tie the game up on John Maye's touchdown. Then just three minutes later Maye would strike again to make it 14-7 Chiefs. The Red Storm would answer back with 4:03 left in the half on a short feild goal to make it 14-10. The Chiefs would extend there lead to 21-10 on John Maye's third touchdown of the day with 1:57 left before half. Saranac Lake would strike quick and make it 21-16 at the half on Dan Strack's touchdown. When the teams would return for second half the Red Storm would take there first lead of the game at 3:50 of the third on short touchdown run to give them 24-21 lead. That is where the score would remain until the Chiefs would retake the lead on John Maye's fourth touchdown of the day at 28-24 with 4:03 left in the game. Then with just 1 minute left in the game the Red Storm would get the game winning touchdown to Dylan Gunther for the 30-28 win. The Bulldogs would take the quick 1-0 in the 7th minute on Seth Young's goal. Then in the 13th minute the Bulldogs would extend there lead to 2-0 on Chad Stalter's penalty kick. Then in the 20th minute Wyatt Snell would score for the Panthers to try and get them back in it. From there on both teams would have there chances but that would end the scoring as the Bulldogs get the 2-1 win and go to 12-3-1 on the season. The Beekmantown Eagles would host the Ausable Valley Patriots in the final week of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference season. The Eagles would have a 14-0 lead after the first quarter on two scores from Justin Stevens one rushing and the other on a punt return. The Patriots would try to keep it close when Scott Douglas would score on a 15 yard reception 1:29 in. The Eagles would answer right back with Justin Stevens third touchdown on the day at 5:31 to make it 21-6. The Eagles would extend the lead to 28-6 on Kyle Dupingey on a 35 yard touchdown. With ten seconds left in the half Jacob Remchuk would scramble from 9 yards out to make it 35-6 at the break. Just 1:47 into the second half it would be more of the same as Quenton Barber would score a 65 yard punt return to make it 42-6. The Saranac Chiefs would host the Peru Indians in week 6 of Champlain Valley Football League league season. It would be the battle of a couple of schools that just dont like each other and at times it would show. The Indians would strike first 3:30 on a fumble recovery in endzone for a score to make it 7-0 Indians. Then at the 8 minute mark the Indians would score again this time hooking up with Zane Bazzano on a 45 yard pass to make it 14-0. The Chiefs would get on the broad just over a minute later on John Maye's touchdown run to make it 14-6. Then just three minute into the second quarter the Indians would hit Bazzano again this time on a bomb to make it 20-6. Then just two minute later it would be Bazzamo again to make it 27-6. Then as the first halg would come to an end the Indians and Rivelino Hendricks would score from five yards out to make it 34-6 at the break. When the teams return for the second half it was more of the same as the Indians and Hendricks would score at the nine minute mark to make it 41-6. From there on out the teams would cruise it on out. The scoring would pick up in the second quarter with three scores by the two teams to make it a 21-6 North Stars lead at the breaks the North Stars scores would come from Dexter and Elisa Parks. In the second the Greenjackets would do there best to stay in the game and thats just what they did scoring twice but the North Stars would get one score late from Elisa Parks to secure the 28-20 victory. The Beekmantown Eagles would host the Peru Indians in Week 4 of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference. The game would be close are the first the first quarter the teams trading touchdowns but the Indians would miss the extra point giving the Eagles the 7-6 at the end of one. Then in the second quarter the Indians would get the only score and go for two to take a 14-7 lead into the break. Then the teams would come back for the second half they would be fired up and there would be more hard hitting. The Indians would out score the Eagles 22-7 thanks to some favorable officiating. The highlight of the day would come when each team would have a return for touchdown Zane Bazzano for the Indians and Cameron Garceau for the Eagles. The Keene Beavers won in a tight game against the Westport Eagles 3-1 in MVAC action. #11 Hannah Whitney had two goals and 1 assist in the game. In the 1st half #6 B. Russell dribbled through two defenders and scored at 5:05 unassisted! Later on in the 1st half #13 Sara Gagliandi score at 11:23 assisted by #11 Whitney. Twenty minutes later Whitney would score her first goal at 33:15 assisted by #12 Elaina Smith. At half time the Beavers would lead 2-1. With only about 10 minutes left in the game Whitney would score again at 28:54 assisted by #21 Naomi Peduzzi. This would be the Eagles final nail in the coffin as the Beavers would pull off the win. NAC Bobcats dominated the Westport Eagles 6-0 in MVAC action. Ryan Manion for Bobcats had a hat trick and Dylan Miller had 2 assists in the game. In the 1st half Manion scored at 16:25 assisted by Alden Kerr. Middle of the 2nd half, Scott Kellett scored at 14:26 assisted by Dylan Miller. Manion had a yellow card for an unsportman like conduct called against him at 21:16. Then two near back to back goals, both from Manion at 28:21 assisted by Miller, and 29:31. But that isn't the end of scoring by the Bobcats, they would pick up two more goals near the end of the game: one by Kerr at 37:28 assisted by Dan Huff; and Dustin Dommic at 38:47. The Bobcats had 16 shots on goal, 5 saves and 13 corner kicks while the Eagles had 9 shots on goal with 10 saves and only 2 corner kicks. The highlights are available on the video.

The Ellenburg Center Fire Department would have a spaghetti dinner to benefit there Fire Chief Stan Russell to help with the medical bills. There would be around 250 people that would come through out the benefit. There would also be a 50/50 drawing along with a Chinese auction. Saranac Chiefs Vs Au Sable Valley Patriots

Saranac's John Maye (26) goes low on Au Sable Valley's John Goodnough (7) and takes him out of out bounds for the stop. The Saranac Chiefs would open up the season at home against the Au Sable Valley Patriots. The Chiefs would take the 7-0 lead with 1:46 left in the 1st quarter when Ethan Goslin would find Lance Hackett in the endzone for the touchdown. Although the Patriots would come right back and score on there next drive to make the score 7-6. On the in suing kickoff the Chiefs would cough up the ball and the Patriots would score. Then with 5:02 left in the half the Chiefs would regain the lead at 14-12 on John Maye touchdown run. Then just over a minute later the Chiefs would extend there lead to 20-14 when John Maye would score on the touchdown run off a Patriot turnover. The Patriors would answer back though before the end of the half to tie the game at 20-20 at the break. When the teams came out of the break the Chiefs would start to take control of the game and regain the lead on John Maye third touchdown run from the 5 yard line and would get the two point conversion to make it 28-20. Then with the 4th quarter starting the Chiefs would score again behind John Maye to make it 34-20. Just three minutes later the Patriots would race down the field and score on John Goodnough runs to make it 34-28 and get back in the game. Then with 3:30 left the Chiefs would finish the Patriots off on Ethan Goslin's run to make it a 42-28 Chiefs win. Leading the way for the Chiefs in the win would be John Maye with 198 yards and four touchdowns. With the win the Chiefs start the season at 1-0 as they head on the road to Beekmantown for week 2. The Chateaugay Bulldogs and Salmon River Shamrocks would get there season started in non league action. The Bulldogs would get the scoring started with Danielle Charland's goal in the 12th minute assist to Hannah Cook. Then just five minutes later Brianna Cook would get the unassisted goal to make it 2-0. Then in the 21st minute Danielle Charland would sore her second of the night with the assist going to Katie Beach 3-0. Salmon River would finally get on the broad in the 31st minute on Tstoprnhariio Hearn penalty kick to make it 3-1. The Bulldogs would end the scoring in the 74 minute on Rachel Young's goal assist to Katie Beach (second). Westport Eagles open up the season against the Schroon Lake Wildcats with a 3-0 win in MVAC action. B. Russell would score in the first period with an assist by H. Schowoebel. The second half would open up with a goal from E. Rascoe assisted by E. Schowoebel. With nearly 10 minutes left in the game H. Schowoebel would put the final nail in the Wildcats coffin with a goal making it 3-0. The win makes the Eagles 1-0 in the regular season while the Wildcats are 0-1. The New York State Tractor Pullers would return to the Vermont State Fair for there annual labor day hook. They would have 42 hooks spread over the Super Farm Tractors, Two Wheel Drive Trucks, Modified Tractors and Super Stock Tractors. The event would go one over the threat of rain throughout the day and the overcast sky would make for great horsepower and put on a great show for the fans. Tyler Audett and Pure Breed Red carry the front wheel down the track from 125 feet on eventually digging in at the 302 feet mark for a sixth place in the Super Farm Tractors. The Vermont Tractor Pullers and New York Tractor Pullers would put on a combined show that Champlain Valley Fair. There would be around 40 hooks on the night divided into five classes (VT Mini Rods A & B, Econo 2wd Trucks, Super Farm Tractors and 2.6 Cheater Trucks. There would be a decent crowd on hand and would be entertained to make the with all the smoke and noise and even some breakage. Everyone is looking forward to having them back again next year. The Store Tavern would have to play a man short as they would have an injury in the 1st inning. The teams would trade runs in the first inning both scoring two runs as the game would be tied at 2. Then the rain would come and not quit the rest of the night. That is where the game would remain until the 3rd when Lereux Fuels would score four and the Store Tavern would get three to make it a 6-5 game. Then in fourth inning would score five runs to make it 11-5 in the fifth. The game would be called after the fifth inning do the field being unplayable. Then in fourth the Store Tavern would get two and Lereux Fuels would get one to make it 6-1. Then in the fifth the Store Tavern would get two while Lereux Fuels would get three to make it 8-4. Then in seventh Lereux Fuels would force extra innings by getting four runs thanks to a three run homer. Plattsburgh's Alec Currier (3) stretches out and puts his hand on the ball and rips it out for the fumble. The Plattsburgh North Stars would face there rivals from across the lake the Vermont Ice Storm in Empire Football League action. It would not take the North Stars long to get on the broad they would score on the opening drive to make it 7-0 on DJ Barber's TD Reception. The Stars would get another one near the end of the quarter on Dexter Geohagan touchdown to make it 13-0. Then in second quarter the North Stars would score twice more Jamil McCray's and Chris Fish's touchdown receptions to make it 27-0 at the half. When the teams would return for the second it would be more of the same. The North Stars would get two more scores one on Harry Rascoe's sneak from the one yard line and Craig Bujold's reception to make it 41-0. Then in the fourth quarter the North Stars would add one more just for good measure as Harry Rascoe would scramble for 40 yards to make it 47-0. The Ice Storm would get one score late to break up the shutout. The Huntingdon Fair would have the Adirondack Truck/Traactor Pullers back for the first time in four years. They would put on a great show for the local pullers from Street Trucks, Stock Tractors, Altered Stock Tractors and 4x4 Tractors. The Adirondack sled would start pulling in the earlier afternoon and pull til late night. The would pull just over a 110 hooks on the day to a roaring crowd. The ASTTQ the premier truck and tractor pulling series in Canada would make there annual stop at the Huntingdon Fair. There would be a packed crowd to watch the best pullers across Canada in action. The would bring in the Super Semis, Mini Mods, Modified Trucks, Two Wheel Drive Trucks and the Modified Tractors. The game would start of close as the teams would trade runs in the first to have a 1-1 game. From there on out the Cardinals would pour it on as the Expos just seemed to have a off day. The Cardinals would break the game open in the second with six runs for the 7-1 lead and from there they would cruise to the 14-3 win. Plattsburgh's Dexter Geohagan (7) with the sliding scope catch in the endzone for one of his two touchdown night. The Plattsburgh North Stars would host the Syracuse Shock in week four of the EFL season in what could be a preview of the championship game. The North Stars would strike just over four minutes into the game with a 23 yard strike to Brett Boyer to give the North Stars the 7-0 lead. Then with eight seconds left in the first Dexter Geohagan would catch the 13 yard pass in the corner to give the Stars the 14-0 lead. Then half way through the second quarter the Shock get on the broad with the running touchdownn to make it 14-6. Then with just three minutes left in the half DJ Barber would make a 20 yard field goal for the 17-6 lead at the break. The Shock would get the only score in the third quarter on the QB sneak to make it 17-12. Then just as the fourth quarter the Stars would go up 24-12 on DJ Barbers TD Reception. Just three minutes later they would extend the lead to 31-18 on Dexter Geohagan second touchdown of the night. Then to finish off the night Brandon St. John would have a interception for a touchdown to make it a 38-18 final and win for the North Stars. Jack Chamberlain and his 2010 Toyota Tundra take it down the track chewing up the loose dirt from the rain earlier and sending it skyward. It was that time of year again the Street Truck Pull at the Clinton County Fair brought to you by the Adirondack Truck & Tractor Pullers. There would be around 80 entries that would be divided into seven classes all the way from the stock truck to the mighty 2.6 Cheater Trucks. There would be many good runs throughout the night and very minimal damage. One of the exciting momements that happened had to be the hard rain storm that came and dropped atleast a inch of water in the matter of minutes. The pull would be halted for about a hour they would reprep the track and back pulling we would go. The North Stars would stat of with a pick by Brandon St. John that he would take inside the 10 where the Stars would score and take a 6-0 lead. The North Stars would score twice more before the quarter ended to have a 20-0 lead including the long Brett Boyer touchdown. The Stars would score once in the second quarter to take a 27-0 lead at halftime. Then in the second half the North Stars would finish the beating with three more scores to get the 49-0 victory. In the winning effort for the Miners Dave Waldron would go the distance to get the shutout victory while giving up just four hits. In the second game it would be called after the fourth inning with the score tied at zero. The game will not be resumed as it makes no difference in the standings. After three weeks off because of ran outs the Peabody Padres would get back in action against Meron Expos in doubleheader action in Saranac. The Expos would take the 1-0 lead right off in the first. The Padres would tie the game up in the third on a RBI single by Eric Bell. The Padres would take the lead in the fourth on Shane Perrotte's 2 RBI Single to make it 3-1. The Padres would extend the lead to 4-1 on Kalob Drollette RBI base hit in the 5th inning. In the sixth the Expos would erase the lead by getting three runs and tie the game at 4. Then the Expos would win it in the seventh with one run to get the 5-4 win. In the lose Matt Rivers would go the distance striking out six while giving up 8 hits. As the teams would return for game two the Expos would get one in first while the Padres would get two for the 2-1 lead. The Padres would get there lone run in the fourth inning on a RBI single from Zack Myers. In the winning effort Matt Rivers would pitch the complete game shutout giving up just five hits while striking out four. For the lack of runs in game one game two would make up for it. The Padres would take the 1-0 lead in first on Mark Eggleston RBI double. The Cardinals would take the lead in the second with two runs to make it 2-1. The Cardinals would extend the lead to 4-1 in the fifth to runs. The Cardinals would at two more in the top of the 5th to make it 6-1 before the Padres would start to answer back with three runs on RBI singles from Andrew Petro and Matt Rivers to make it 6-4. The Franklin County Field Days in Highgate, VT would be home to the Pulling for Loan Benefit Pull. In the mist of the rain drops pullers and fans a like would turn out for the great event. There would be 130 pullers divided up between 25 different classes from stock trucks all the way up to the big 4x4 tractors. There would around 800 specators that would come through the gate to see the pulling action along with helping a great cause. Plans are already underway to return the event in 2014. Gallery

The Beekmantown Eagles would host the Schlamont Sabres in the openning round of the New York State Class B Playoffs. The game would be pitching duel through the first four innings with only fours hits combined by the teams. The Eagles would actually strike first to take a 1-0 lead. Then in the top of the 5th the Sabres bats would come alive and the Eagles defense would fall to execute some plays and the Sabres would strike for 6 runs and have a 6-1 lead. The Eagles would try there best to get back in the game in the bottom of the inning as they would score two to make it 6-3. Then in the seventh inning the Sabres would put the finally touches of the game as they would score four more runs and secure the 10-3 victory. A couple of local kids take a ride down the water slide at the kids day event. The Ellenburg Center Fire Department would hold there second annual kids day at the station. There would be around 30 kids that would take part. They would offer bounce house, water slide, tattoos, sno-cones, popcorn, lunch and other goodies. The Clinton County Safety Trailer would also be there showing the kids what to do in case of a fire. The Beekmantown Eagles rush home plate and the party is on as Brandon Rabideau scores the game winning run on Zack Myers walk off single to give them the section VII title. The Beekmantown Eagles and Peru Indians would face off for the Section VII Class B title at Chip Cummings Field for the right to go the state playoffs. The Indians would take the 1-0 lead in first to get everything strarted. The Indians would extent it to 3-0 in third. Then in the bottom of the third the Eagles would get right back in the game and tie it at three with three runs of there own. The Indians would regain the lead at 4-3 in the fifth. Although the relentless Eagles would tie it back up in the 6th to make it 4-4. Then the big drama would come in the bottom of the seventh when Zack Myers would get the game winning walk off single that would score Brandon Rabideau to give the Eagles the 5-4 win and Section VII Title. As for the game the Cardinals would host the Oswego State Lakers in SUNYAC Doubleheader action. The first game would be scheduled for seven innings but they would decide to play ten instead. Where the Lakers would get the 4-0 win as the Cardinals would have some costly errors in the tenth. In turn that would ruin a great game on the mound for Brian Burns where he went the distance giving up 1 earned run and 10 hits while striking out 5. In the second game would get more scoring out the teams. The game would remain scoreless until the bottom of the fourth when Mark Chavez would have a Scarface fly to make it 1-0 Cardinals. The St. Lawerence County Fair would host there Spring Demolition Derby. There would be 47 cars that show up for the event that would be divided up into five heats and the championship. There were some guys out there that would be struggling for traction on the muddy and sandy track all in all it would be a good derby though. The Blue Devils continue there comeback with two more in the 5th to make it 8-3. Then in the sixth the Blue Devils would get even closer and make it tight down the stretch with four in the inning. The Red Dragons would jump out to the quick 5-1 lead after the first quarter with the lone Cardinals goal from Joey Kramer. In the second quarter the Cardinals would do there best to get back in it and tie the Red Dragons at 8 at the break. Scoring for the Cardinals in the second quarter would be Joey Kramer (twice), Tom Duggan, Tim Lawerence (twice), Nick Travers and Brett McClelland. The game would remain tied at 10 as the teams went into the fourth scoring for the Cardinals were Tom Duggan and Tim Lawerence. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would fellow north country foe the Clarkson Golden Knights in non conference action. The game would be stragertic match up as both were looking for the edge throughout the game. The Cardinals would take 1-0 lead at the 6 minute mark of the 1st quarter of Joey Kramer's goal. The Golden Knights would tie it up at the 10 minute mark of the first quarter on Mark Nortz's goal. Then just 30 seconds the Cardinals would regain h lead on Brendan Damm's goal to make it 2-1. The Golden Knights would tie the game back up with two minutes left in the first on Jeff Sceria's goal to make it 2-2 after one. The play would be based in the 50's and would be your classic battle between a small town refusing to change with the times and wanting to keep there town like pleasentville. The classic ski-doo and artic cat rivalry would be at it again this as a pair pros launch and race hard down in the opening turn wanting the early advantage. The East Coast Snocross would return to Malone, NY at Titus Mountain and for second year in a row it would be season finale weekend. There would be around 200 racers that would take part in the 13 different classes offered. With the season championship on the line the racing would fast and furious as they would go for the season crown. The ECS would nort disapoint as they would make a very challenging course there were all drivers would need to stay focused or pay the price. The Xtreme Combat Promotions would come aross the Lake and bring the first mixed martail arts fight to come to the North Country as they would invade the Crete Civic Center in Plattsburgh. There would be a total of seventeen fights on the night there would be some that would go the distance many of the fights would be called do to knockout or submission. Malone's Coach Chuck Deivendorf is honored after the game for his 34 years service as the Coach of the Malone Huskies. He recieves a plaque from the Malone Minor Hockey Club for his service. During his time ahead of the Huskies he has earned 308 wins. The Malone Huskies would host the Tupper Lake Lumberjacks in Section X Division II action it would be Senoir Night in Malone. The game would remain scoreless until the 8:14 mark of the second period when Malone's Tanner Studlack would light the lamp on the power play goal. The Huskies would score again on the power play at 12:46 of the second period when Cameron Daniels gets the goal. That would end the scoring for the night as the Huskies get the 2-0 win. The Saranac Chiefs would host the Churchville-Chilli in the North Country Cup at the Stafford Ice Arena in Platsburgh. Churchville would get three goals in the first period and not look back from there. Churchville would take a 4-0 lead 8 minutes into the second period. Dylan Baker would get the Chiefs on the broad with a goal with under minute left in the period. Although before time would expire Churchville would score again to make it 5-1 after second period. In the third period Churchville would score in the openning minute to make it 6-1. Then in final 30 seconds of the game the Chiefs would get two goals from Jacob Lilledahl and Matt McCasland to make it a 6-3 Churchville win. The Cardinals would take the 2-0 lead on Andrea Zeismann power play goal at the ten minute mark of the first. Then in the last 1:30 of the period Elimra would get on the broad with Sam Curk's goal to make it 2-1 Cardinals after the first period. The game would get very phyiscail with many fouls called through out the game even a couple injury timeouts were needed but what else would you expect with rivals. When the first quarter would come to end the Bulldogs would hold a slim 12-11 lead. In the second quarter it would be more of the same and the Bulldogs would have a 26-20 lead at the break. The Panthers would come out fired up and trim the Bulldogs lead to 39-38 headed to the fourth. In the fourth quarter the Panthers would actual take a four point lead with four minutes to play but the Bulldogs would have a fifteen point swing and cruise to the 60-49 win A key factor in the Bulldogs win would be that made 23 free throws. The game would see the Bulldogs pretty much control the game until the whole game until the fourth quarter when the Sandstoners would step up there full court defense. The Bulldogs would have the slim 9-6 lead after the first quarter. The Bulldogs would keep up the tempo as they would have a 23-17 lead at the break as they would win the quarter 14-11. Then when the teams came back for the third quarter the Bulldogs would win the quarter 13-7 and take a 36-24 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth the Sandstoners would step up there full court defense and force bulldogs into many turnovers and the Sandstoners would win the 17-11 but the Bulldogs would hold on to the 47-41 victory. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Williams Ephs in a non-conference contest. Williams would take the 1-0 lead on Nick Anderson's goal at 11:29 of the first period. That is where the game would remain until the 7:30 mark of the second period when Preston Kaye would get the tying goal on the power play to make it 1-1. Then Ephs would get two goals in just under a minute between the 8:30 and 9:30 mark from Nick Anderson and Peter Mistretta to make it 3-1 Ephs. Then with under three minutes left in the second the Ephs would get a power play goal from Matt Doyle to make it 4-1 Ephs after two periods. Then just a 1:18 into the third period the Cardinals would start there comeback on Kevin Emmerlings goal to make it 4-2. Then with five minutes left in third Barry Roytman would score to make it 4-3 with the extra attacker. Then just a 1:19 later the comeback would be complete as Kevin Emmerling would light the lamp and send the game into overtime. In that overtime Luke Baleshta would send the home crowd home happy with the winner when he knocked in the rebound with twenty seconds left. The game would be a rematch of last years section ten class d championship game and it would deffenately live up to the billing. The game would get very phyiscail at times. When the first quarter would come to end they would be tied 7-7. In the second quarter the Bulldog defense would step as they would win the quarter 16-9 and take the 23-16 lead into the locker room. When the teams would return for the third quarter the intenity would remain and the Bulldogs would remain and the Bulldogs would get the quarter 14-9 and take the 37-25 into the fourt. In the fourth quarter the offenses would come alive and the Yellow Jackets would get it 22-19 but the Bulldogs would hold on for the 56-47 victory. Saranac would open up the scoring in first on Matt Macasland's goal assist to Kyle Erickson. The Huskies would tie it up on Kyle Head's goal 1-1. Saranac's Matt Macsland would give the Chiefs back the lead at 2-1 at the eight minute mark on his second of the night assist going to Kyle Erickson. The Chiefs would go up by 2 with 3 minutes left in the first on Nick Uilva's goal assist to Alex Sarazen. The Huskies would get it back within one in the last minute of the first on Tanner Studlacks goal assist to Cameron Daniels to make it 3-2 after the first. Then just three minutes into the second Studlack and Daniels would connext again to make it 3-3. Then in the ninth minute of the second period Chiefs would regain the lead on Jacob Lillehadel's goal with assist going to Kyle Erickson and Tristin Archambault. The Huskies would tie it up two minutes later on the Bailey Conklin goal with assist going to Kelsey Head and Tanner Studlack. to make it 4-4. Then with two minutes left in the 2nd period the Huskies would score two goals in 58 seconds by Kyler Head and Cameron Daniels to make it 6-4. Then with three minutes left in the third the Chiefs made the end interesting on Matt Macsaland third goal of the night to finish off the hat trick with assist going to Kyle Erickson and Jacob Lillehadl as the Huskies get the 6-5 win. Both goalies would still stop plenty of shots as Malone's Joey Brown stop 34 while Saranac's Zach LaReau stops 31.
