The game would start well for the home Cadets as they would get off to the 4-2 lead after the first quarter on goals from Cynthia Barnosky (twice), Caitlin Nash, and Maddy Garcia. In the second quarter, the Cardinals would stay on top with the low-scoring affair with the 3-2 quarter on goals from Cynthia Barnosky (third and fourth), and Caitlin Nash with her second of the game as the Cardinals would have the 7-4 lead at the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter the game would stay tight. Still, the Cadets would cut into the lead with a 4-3 quarter scoring for the Cardinals would be Erica Dickinson, Cynthia Barnosjy (fifth), and Caitlin (third) as it would be 10-8 Cardinals as they entered the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Cadets would come out charging and take control of the game with a 6-2 quarter scoring for the Cardinals Lillian Gilroy and Janey Adans as the Cadets would get the come-from-behind victory at 14-12. In the losing effort for the Cardinals Jess Loch would still make 12 saves as they go to 1--3 on the season and will be back on the field Saturday as they take on Utica. As for the Norwich Cadets Bailey Manning Ingala would make 12 saves for the win and go to 2-1 on the season. Gallery

Norwich's Merck Athena (0) with the shot on net that puts the side past Plattsburgh State's Jess Loch (32) as they would get the 14-12 win. It would be a matchup between the SUNYAC and the Great Northeast Conference from the Plattsburgh State Fieldhouse Complex as the Plattsburgh Cardinals would host the Norwich Cadets. Middlebury's Audrey Lazar with the opening goal of the game to give the Panthers the 1-0 lead. It would be time to start the NCAA Division III Women's Hockey Tournament again from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena as the #4 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #6 Middlebury Panthers as the classic rivals would meet again with a ticket to the final four on the line in front of 900 passionate fans. The visiting Panthers would get the opening goal of the first period just over the halfway mark of the first period and take the 1-0 lead on the Audrey Lazar goal. The game would stay there till the 7:32 mark of the second period when the Panthers would double their lead to 2-0 on the Kate Flynn goal. From there defense would be the main course on the menu as it would be the only two goals on the day but it would not be without some great effort by the Cardinals to try and get back in the game. In the winning effort for the Panthers, Sophia Will would make 30 saves for the shutout victory. As for the Cardinals Lilla Nease would do her best stopping 15 of 17 on the day but the Cardinals would fall short of the final four for the first time since the 2011 season as their season comes to an end at 22-5-1. The Middlebury Panthers punch their ticket to the 2024 NCAA Division III Women's Hockey Frozen Four with a 2-0 win over the Plattsburgh State Cardinals. It would be time to start the NCAA Division III Women's Hockey Tournament again from the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena as the #4 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #6 Middlebury Panthers as the classic rivals would meet again with a ticket to the final four on the line in front of 900 passionate fans. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals Women's Lacrosse team would return home for a nonconference matchup against a fellow north country for the Clarkson Golden Knights at the Fieldhouse Complex. The game would not start good for the home Cardinals as they would be down 8-2 after just the first quarter scoring for the Cardinals were Cynthia Barnosky and Maddy Garcia while the Golden Knights would have Grace Graney (twice), Makenna Cassin (twice), Julia Lavarnway, Gabby Cranfield, Madelynn Barnum (twice). In the second quarter the Cardinals would do a little better on defense as they would hold the Golden Knights to four goals but their offense wouldnt have much as they would only get one for a 4-1 quarter getting the lone goal for the Cardinals would be Janey Adams while the Knights would have Julia Larnaway (third of the game), Mckenna Cassin (third of the game), Madelynn Barnum (second of the game) and Gabby Cranfield (second of the game). When the teams returnd for the third quarter the Cardinals looked way better but they wouldn't be able to get over the hump of the Golden Knights as It would be a 4-4 quarter to make it a 16-7 game with Caitlin Nash, Fiona Fitzgerald and Cynthia Barnosky (second of the game) while Hailey Millington, Brooklynne Perrigo, Julia Larnaway (a fourth of the game) and Makenna Cassin (third of the game). In the fourth quarter the teams would just finish out the game and the Knights would have a 2-1 quarter getting the lone goal for the Cardinals would be Cynthia Barnosky (third of the game) while Madelynn Barnum would get her third and fourth of the game as the Golden Knights would get the 18-8 victory. In the winning effort, the Golden Knights go to 2-0 on the season and the goalies combine for 3 saves on the afternoon. While the Plattsburgh State Cardinals went to 1-2 on the season and had 11 saves in the game. Gallery

The Cortland State Red Dragons have crowned the 2024 SUNYAC Men's Hockey champion with the 3-2 overtime victory over the Plattsburgh State Cardinals. It would be the SUNYAC Championship from the Plattsburgh State Fieldhouse with the winner getting the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament in front of a sold-out crowd of 2,188 fans. It would be the #3 Plattsburgh State Cardinals hosting the #4 Cortland State Red Dragons and having seen the Cardinals win both regular season matches. The game would be tight through the first period with both teams getting their scoring chances but no one would be able to flip on the red light to get a goal and it would be scoreless after the first period. In the second period, we would get the first goal of the game, unfortunately, it would be the Cortland State Red Dragons getting the opening goal of the game at the 11:28 mark from Colby Seitz to make it a 1-0 game and that's how the second period would end. The Cardinals would waste no time tying the game up in the third period just 58 seconds in on the powerplay goal from Ryan Bonfield. The game would stay there till there was 4:38 left in the game the Red Dragons would regain the lead at 2-1 on the Nate Berke goal. Down the stretch, though the Cardinals would pull the goal to try and get the equalizer, and with 33 seconds left they would do just that on Ryan Bonfield’s second goal of the game and the game would head to overtime. In the overtime, the Red Dagons would get the game-winner as they would get the lead for the third and final time on the night on the Anthony Bernando goal and the 3-2 Dragons win. In the winning effort, Jack Riedell would make 41 saves on the night as the Cortland State Red Dragons get the conference's auto bid and head to the NCAA Tournament. As for the Plattsburgh State Cardinals, Jacob Hearne makes 31 saves and their 21-5-2 record will have to wait and see if they get an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. Gallery

It would be conference championship Saturday afternoon once again for the #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals except this time they would be going after the first ever SUNYAC title as they would take on the #2 Cortland State Red Dragons in front of 1200 fans at the Ronald B Stafford Ice Arena. It would be a very evenly contested game through the first period as both teams would have their chances but no one could get on the board. The game would finally get the first goal of the game at the 10:13 mark of the second period when the Cardinals would take the 1-0 lead on the Mae Olshansky powerplay goal. The lead would be short-lived as the Cortland State Red Dragons would answer back just over three minutes later on the Mia Hisanick powerplay goal to tie the game at two. The game would remain there through the rest of the second period and all of the third period sending the first-ever crowning for the SUNYAC title into the overtime period. In the overtime we would have to answer quickly as Cortland State's Elena Eichmann would light the lamp just 2:33 into the overtime and the party would be on for the Cortland State Red Dragons as they would get their first-ever women's conference tournament title and head to the NCAA Tournament. In the winning effort, Molly Goergen would make 26 saves on the day as they go to 19-5-2. The season is not over though for the Plattsburgh State Cardinals as they will get an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament with a 21-4-2 mark on the season and both teams will find out their opponent when the bracket is announced Sunday evening.
