It would be a battle of the Saranac's in the 2021 Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Class C Championship as the #1 Saranac Lake Red Storm would take on the #3 Saranac Chiefs. The Red Storm would waste little time in taking the early lead at 7-0 on the Connor Hewitt 20 yard run at the 2:05 mark of the first quarter. Then with just under three minutes left in the quarter, the Red Storm would strike again and make it 14-0 on a Connor Hewitt 1 yard run. The Chiefs would have an answer with a 31 yard run by Cayden Bouiva and get themself back in the game at 14-6 after the extra point would be blocked. In the overtime, Red Storms Connor Hewitt would score from 4 yards out and take a 36-29 lead. The Chiefs would be next up and they would score on the Hunter Devins run. That's where the game would get good the Chiefs would lineup for the win instead of going for the tie and sending it to another overtime. They would score on the two-point play and everyone had thought the chiefs had won the title but there was a yellow flag on the field and it would be called back on a false start. So then seeing that they had to go 5 yards farther back and make it from the 7-yard line they decided to take the field goal and that would go wide right and the Red Storm would hold on for the 36-35 victory, In the winning effort, the Red Storm would advance to the NYSPHSAA Class C Tournament and will play Ogdensburg next weekend and go to 4-4 on the season while the Saranac Chiefs season will come to end at 2-7.
