Saranac's Nolan Miner (9) with the goal on the short side over the goalie to get the scoring started. It would be the battle for AC North as the two teams that both call Ameri-can North Arena home would faceoff in their first of two meetings on the season as the Saranac Chiefs would meet up with the Plattsburgh Hornets. The game would start off very well for the Chiefs as they would get the opening goal of the game just a minute into the game from Nolan Miner and the 1-0 lead. Then with about ten minutes left in the period, they would extend the lead to 2-0 on the goal by Ben Phinney and that's where the first period would end. In the second period, the Chiefs would stay hot as they would make it a 3-0 game just 2:25 into the period on a goal from Evan Patrie. Later in the period, the Chiefs would strike again staying hot as Landen Duprey would score to make it a 4-0 game. Then the third period would start just like the other two with a quick from Zach O'Connell although this time Jonathan Roy would add his own goal right behind O'Connell and make it a 6-0 game. From there the Chiefs would do the rest and get the 6-0 shutout victory and go to 4-1-2 on the season while the Hornets fall to 1-3 season. Gallery

It would be the start of Champlain Valley Athletic Conference play as the Saranac Chiefs would host the Northeastern Clinton Cougars in a rematch of last year's semifinal game that saw the Cougars win in overtime. The game would start off well for the Chiefs as they would score just 1:44 into the match on the Landon Duprey to make it a 1-0 game. However, the lead would be short-lived as the Cougars would tie the game at one at the three-minute mark of the match from Owen Ebersol. That is where the game would stay till the 1:24 mark of the second period and in total, the Cougars would score three times in the first 5:20 of the period from Peyton Palmer, and two from Winnie Simpson for the 4-1. However, the Chiefs would go on a streak of their own scoring 4 goals in the tens and retaking the lead at 5-4 on goals from Nolan Miner (twice), Zach O'Connell, and Evan Patrie. Then during the third period, the Cougars would keep on fighting and get the equalizer at the 11:27 mark from Eddie Bullriss and from there the game would go to overtime. In that overtime period, Zach O'Connell would get the game-winner at 1:55 on the breakaway goal for the second of the night. Saranac's Zach O'Connell (88) would come down on the breakaway and score the game-winner in overtime and the dogpile was on. It would be the start of Champlain Valley Athletic Conference play as the Saranac Chiefs would host the Northeastern Clinton Cougars in a rematch of last year's semifinal game that saw the Cougars win in overtime. It would be the last game of the 2022 Clinton Community College Holiday Classic and it would pit the Saranac Chiefs and Boquet Valley Griffins with the winner being named the boy portions champion. The game would start off well for the Chiefs as they would be on fire and have a 20-3 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Chiefs would stay hot but the Griffins would find their stroke the Chiefs would win the quarter 20-16 and take a 40-19 lead into halftime. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Chiefs would continue their hot hand with a 23-4 quarter and take a 63-23 lead into the 4th quarter. In that 4th quarter with the winning a forgone conclusion the Chiefs would win the quarter 16-7 and get the convincing 70-39 victory. With the win, the Saranac Chiefs win the boy's portion of the 2022 Holiday Classic making it a clean sweep for the Saranac Chiefs at the Holiday Classic the boy's team would go to 4-5 on the season and the Griffins fall to 3-3 on the year. It would be the last game of the 2022 Clinton Community College Holiday Classic and it would pit the Saranac Chiefs and Boquet Valley Griffins with the winner being named the boy portions champion. The game would start off well for the Chiefs as they would be on fire and have a 20-3 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Chiefs would stay hot but the Griffins would find their stroke the Chiefs would win the quarter 20-16 and take a 40-19 lead into halftime. It would be the third game on the day of the second day of action at the 2022 Clinton Community College Holiday Classic and as the Saranac Chiefs and Seton Catholic Knights would meet up. The game would start off well for the Chiefs as they would have a 10-4 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Chiefs would step up their offense with a 15-3 quarter and take a 25-7 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter it would be more of the same as the Chiefs would have an 18-5 quarter and take a 43-12 lead into the fourth. In the fourth quarter with the outcome of the game already determined the Griffins would win the quarter 7-6 although the Chiefs would hold on for the 49-19 victory. With the win, the Saranac Chiefs would win the Girls' portion of the Holiday Classic and move their record to 6-1 on the season as the Knights fall to 2-5 on the season. Gallery

The game would start off well for the Chiefs as they would have a 10-4 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Chiefs would step up their offense with a 15-3 quarter and take a 25-7 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter it would be more of the same as the Chiefs would have an 18-5 quarter and take a 43-12 lead into the fourth. In the fourth quarter with the outcome of the game already determined the Griffins would win the quarter 7-6 although the Chiefs would hold on for the 49-19 victory. The game would start off well for the Chiefs as they would jump out to the 12-4 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Chiefs would start to pull away in the game with a 26-8 quarter and take a 38-12 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the second half the Griffins would have no answer for the Chiefs as the Chiefs would win the half 37-18 and hold on for the 75-30 victory. In the winning effort, the Chiefs would go to 5-0 on the season and take on the Seton Catholic Knights tomorrow (December 28th) as they will go for the crown of the 2022 Clinton Community College Holiday Classic and the Boquet Valley Griffins fall to 5-3 season. Clinton Community College Holiday Classic: Seton Catholic Knights Vs Saranac Chiefs December 27th 2022

Seton Catholic's Oliver Hughes (10) takes flight among the trees and gets over Saranac's Garrett Kiroy (32) as he would lay it off the window. It would be the opening game of the 2022 Clinton Community College Holiday Classic as the Saranac Chiefs would match up with the Seton Catholic NYSPHSAA Section VII action. The game would start off very well for the Chiefs as they would shut out the Knights in the opening quarter and have an 11-0 lead. In the second quarter, the Knights would get on the board and do their best to get back in the game as the Chiefs would lead the quarter by a slim 14-11 margin and take a 25-11 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the third quarter the Knights would put out a great effort but the early whole would be too much to overcome as they would win the quarter 15-13 but still trail 38-26 as they entered the fourth quarter. In the 4th quarter, the Chiefs would keep firing to keep their big lead with a 15-13 quarter to secure the 53-39 victory. In the winning effort, the Chiefs go to 3-5 on the season and will take on the Crown Point Panthers tomorrow (December 28th) for the Holiday Classic title as the Seton Catholic Knights fall to 2-4 on the season.
