Saranac's Isaac Graham (88) with the two-handed catch headed towards the sidelines for the first down. The Saranac Chiefs would open up there season at home against the Plattsburgh Hornets. The Chiefs would strike quick for the early lead on the 60 yards run by Luke Maye for the 6-0 lead at 1:54 of the first quarter. The Chiefs would extend there lead to 14-0 on a Jacob Nolan 61 yard touchdown at the end of the quarter. In the second quarter, the Chiefs would extend there lead to 22-0 on an Andy LaBeau interception for a touchdown. At the end of the Horners would finally get on the board to make it a 22-8 Chiefs lead at the break. The Horners would come out and try and make a game of it as they would return a fumble for a score to make it 22-14. Then with about two minutes left in the game the Chiefs would extend there lead 28-14 on a Jacob Nolan score. With that, the Chiefs would get the 28-14 win and go to 1-0 as the Hornets fall to 0-1. Beekmantown's Matthew Maggy (19) with the tip on the shot for the lone goal of the game. The #1 Plattsburgh Hornets would face off in the Section VII D2 championship with the #4 Beekmantown Eagles at the Plattsburgh Fieldhouse. This would be a game between two very evenly matched and would be a defensive game and game where both goals would perform great. The lone goal of the game would come with 46 seconds left in the first period when Matthew Maggy would tip the shot by Nathan Herbet. That would be all that the Eagles would need as they would hold on for the 1-0 victory. In the winning effort, the Beekmantown Eagles advance to the NYS Division II playoffs and play the Salmon River Shamrocks. Gallery

The Beekmantown Eagles pose for there team photo as they are crowned the 2017 sectional champion. The #1 Plattsburgh Hornets would face off in the Section VII D2 championship with the #4 Beekmantown Eagles at the Plattsburgh Fieldhouse. This would be a game between two very evenly matched and would be a defensive game and game where both goals would perform great. As the Beekmantown Eagles would match up with the Plattsburgh Hornets in CVAC action. The Hornets would answer the bell first as they score 1:30 into the first period on Paul Fine-Lease's goal. The game would stay there till 2:34 into the second period when Plattsburgh's Seth Atwood would light the lamp to make it 2-0. The Hornets would expand there lead to 3-0 on Ben Champagnes' goal in the last 3 minutes of the second period. Although the Eagles would not give up the fight as they would score in the 6-minute mark of the third period on the Kaden Kowlaski goal. Although it would not be enough as the Hornets would secure the 3-1 victory and go to 10-4-1 while the Eagles fall to 7-9-1 on the season. Gallery

Saranac's Griffin Williams (3) with the three from the corner. It would be season opener in the CVAC for both the Saranac Cheifs and the Plattsburgh Hornets. This would be a game that the Plattsburgh Hornets would dominate from start to finish. The Hornets would have a 20-9 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, it would be more of the same as the Hornets would win the quarter 19-13 and take a 39-22 lead at the break. When the teams would return for the third quarter it would stay Hornets game as they win the quarter 26-12 and lead the game 65-34. The Hornets would go into coast mode in the fourth quarter and the Cheifs would win the quarter 15-13. Although the Hornets would cruise to the 78-49 victory as the Hornets go to 1-3 while the Cheifs fall to 0-5 on the season. Gallery
