Saranac Chiefs @ Plattsburgh Hornets Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Basketball December 13th 2022

It would be the battle of the Saranac river as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Saranac Chiefs in CVAC action as both teams were looking to get their first win of the season. The first quarter would definitely be a feeling-out period as it would be locked up at eight at the end of the first quarter. Although in the second quarter the Chiefs would start to find their stride as they would go on a 16-4 run for the quarter and take a 24-12 lead into the locker room. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Hornets would try their best to get back in the game with a run of their own in the quarter with a 15-8 quarter and trail 32-27 into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Chiefs would get back on track and hold the Hornets in check with an 11-10 quarter and secure the 43-37 victory. In the winning effort, Sebastian Dandrow-Pellerin would lead the way with 11 points as the Chiefs gets their first win of the season. As the Hornets would fall to 0-4 on the season and Cayden Williams would all scorers on the night with fifteen points. Gallery

Saranac's Korbin Cranford (11) rises up for the jumper right along the baseline for the score over Plattsburgh's Max Filosca (5) for the score. It would be the battle of the Saranac river as the Plattsburgh Hornets would host the Saranac Chiefs in CVAC action as both teams were looking to get their first win of the season. Beekmantown Eagles @ Plattsburgh Hornets Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Basketball December 8th 2022
Plattsburgh's Max Filosca (5) with the mid range jumper over Beekmantown's Nathan Parliament (23) for the score. It would be the home opener for the Plattsburgh Hornets as they would take on crosstown rival the Beekmantown Eagles to get the home portion of their 2022-23 season underway and would like to right the ship as they lose the first couple on the road to start the season as for the Eagles they would come in 1-0. The game would start off tight as the Eagles would have a slim 16-12 lead after the game's first eight minutes. In the second quarter, the game would stay tight and the Hornets would fight to stay in the game as the Eagles would win the quarter 16-14 and take a 32-26 lead into the intermission. When the teams returned for the second half the Eagles came out firing and it looked like the Hornets were having issues getting the game going again as the Eagles would win the third 20-12 and take the 52-38 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles would stay on the gas and win the quarter 16-9 to secure the 68-47 win. In the winning effort, the Eagles will go to 2-0 while the Hornets fall to 0-3 and both teams are back in action next week. Gallery

#5 Northeastern Clinton Cougars Vs #2 Plattsburgh Hornets Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Basketball Class B Championship March 5th 2022
Northeastern Clinton's Darren Dubois (23) soars over a group of Plattsburgh Hornets defenders on the mid-range jumper. It would be the last Section VII championship of the weekend as the upset-minded #5 Northeastern Clinton Cougars would do battle with the #2 Plattsburgh Hornets. The Cinderella season would like would continue for the Cougars as they would have the 15-11 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Hornets offense would come alive with an 18-10 quarter and have a 29-25 lead at the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the offense would stay hot as they would put together a 20-11 quarter and take the 49-36 lead into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter, the Hornets would put the final touches on the game with a 16-8 quarter and secure the 66-44 victory and the 2022 Section VII Class B championship. With the win, the Plattsburgh Hornets will enter the NYSPHSAA Class B Tournament and will advance to the quarterfinals on March 12th against the winner of the sections x and ii winners. With the loss, the dream season for the Northeastern Clinton Cougars comes to an end at 9-14. Gallery

#5 Northeastern Clinton Cougars Vs #2 Plattsburgh Hornets March 5th 2022
The Plattsburgh Hornets have been crowned the 2022 Section VII Class B Champions at Clinton Community College. It would be the last Section VII championship of the weekend as the upset-minded #5 Northeastern Clinton Cougars would do battle with the #2 Plattsburgh Hornets. The Cinderella season would like would continue for the Cougars as they would have the 15-11 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Hornets offense would come alive with an 18-10 quarter and have a 29-25 lead at the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the offense would stay hot as they would put together a 20-11 quarter and take the 49-36 lead into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter, the Hornets would put the final touches on the game with a 16-8 quarter and secure the 66-44 victory and the 2022 Section VII Class B championship. With the win, the Plattsburgh Hornets will enter the NYSPHSAA Class B Tournament and will advance to the quarterfinals on March 12th against the winner of the sections x and ii winners. #3 Boquet Valley Griffins Vs #1 Seton Catholic Knights March 5th 2022
The Seton Catholic Knights have been crowned the 2022 Section VII Class D champions at Clinton Community College. It would be the second championship of the day as the Boquet Valley Griffins would be looking to sweep the Class D crown as they would take on the Seton Catholic Knights in the Section VII Class D title game. It was looking good for the Griffins after the first quarter for the sweep as they would have the 15-9 lead. In the second quarter, the offense for the Seton Catholic Knights would start to set in as they would have a 21-13 quarter and take the slim 30-28 lead at the break. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Knights would start to pull away in the game as they would double up the Griffins with a 16-8 quarter and take a 46-36 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Griffins would try their best to stay in the game but they wouldn't have an answer with a 13-12 quarter for the Knights and secure the 59-48 win. With the win, the Seton Catholic Knights would advance to the NYSPHSAA Class D Tournament and play for a chance to go to the final four next Saturday, March 12th. as the Boquet Valley Griffins season comes to end at 17-6. It would be the second championship of the day as the Boquet Valley Griffins would be looking to sweep the Class D crown as they would take on the Seton Catholic Knights in the Section VII Class D title game. It was looking good for the Griffins after the first quarter for the sweep as they would have the 15-9 lead. In the fourth quarter, the Griffins would try their best to stay in the game but they wouldn't have an answer with a 13-12 quarter for the Knights and secure the 59-48 win. With the win, the Seton Catholic Knights would advance to the NYSPHSAA Class D Tournament and play for a chance to go to the final four next Saturday, March 12th. as the Boquet Valley Griffins season comes to end at 17-6. #2 Ausable Valley Patriots Vs #1 Moriah Vikings Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Basketball Class C Championship March 4th 2022
Moriah's Bryce Sprague (33) splits the defender and takes flight for the layup and score. It would be the first Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Boy's Basketball championship of the weekend as the #1 Moriah Vikings would face off with the #2 Ausable Valley Patriots for the class c championship and punch their ticket to the NYSPHSAA Tournament. The game would not start off good for the defending championing Moriah Vikings as they would start the game off down 11-2 but would start to come back as they would finish the quarter 8-6 and trail 17-10 after the first quarter. In the second quarter, they would get the hot a hand going on a 15-10 quarter and trail by a slim 27-25 at the intermission. In the third quarter, they would take the lead on the strength of some good defense with 12-9 quarter and take the small 37-36 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Vikings offense would continue to stay hot and would finish off the Patriots with an 18-13 quarter and secure the 55-49 victory. In the winning effort, the Moriah Vikings advance to the NYSPHSAA Class C Tournament and will take on #`16 Madrid Waddington from Section X On March 9th at SUNY Canton as the Ausable Valley Patriots season comes to an end at 15-5.
