The game would not start off good for the home Cardinals as they would be down 3-0 after the first quarter on goals from Owen VanWie, Rocco Santillo, and Jhovanny Olivares. In the second quarter, the Cardinal's luck would not be much better as the Eagles would win the quarter 5-1 and take an 8-1 lead into the locker room on goals from Owen VanWie (second) Nelson Logan, Rocco Santillo (second and third), and Carson Colucci while getting the lone goal for the Cardinals would be Owen Lorenzetti. When the teams came back for the second half the Cardinals still wouldn't have any luck as they got outscored 5-0 on Rocco Santillo (fourth), Ethan Stiles (second), and Owen Vanwie (third), Carson Colucci (second) and Ryan McCarthy. Plattsburgh State's Stephen Kane (11) takes the hard-hit from the Lakers defender as he charged to the net. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would return home after a few weeks away and play the rival Oswego State Lakers in SUNYAC action. The game would not start off good for the Cardinals as the Lakers would shut them out in the first quarter with a 6-0 quarter on the strength of a pair of goals by Corey O'Connor. In the second quarter, the Cardinals would get on the board but the Lakers would win the quarter 5-3 with Cardinal goals by Stephen Kane (twice) and John Eiseman but would trail at the break 11-3. When the teams would return for the third quarter the Lakers would stay on top with a 5-2 quarter with John Eiseman (second and third of the night) and the Cardinals would trail 16-5 as they go to the fourth quarter. In the fourth, the Cardinals still had no with a lakers 3-2 quarter scoring for the Cardinals again would be Kane and Eiseman. Although it would not be enough on this day as the Cardinals fall to 2-7 on the season and will be back in action on April 5th as they take on #15 St. Lawerence. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Sean Malamud (35) with the stretch at first to beat the runner for the out, The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would open up their home portion of their schedule with a non-conference doubleheader against the Canton Kangaroos at Chip Cummings Field. The first game would start off slow as there would be no scoring til the 4th inning when the Kangaroos would get on the board with a home run by Miner for the 1-0 lead. Although the Cardinals would answer back in the bottom, of the inning with a 6 run explosion highlighted by a two rbi triple by Lent for the 6-1 game. Although Canton would work their way back into the game with a three-run fifth inning. But in the bottom of the inning, the Cardinals would take control of the game with a nine-run inning highlighted by a three rbi double by Messersch and a 15-4 lead. Then in the sixth inning, the Cardinals would get three more runs thanks to some Canton errors but an 18-4 lead. In the seventh, the Cardinals would get another four runs to expand the lead to 22-4 highlighted by a pair of rbi singles by Cremin and Digiovanni. The scoring would stop in the eighth innings as the teams would each get 1 run as the Cardinals secure the 23-5 win and go to 7-6 on the season. After a 20 minute break, it would be time for game two of the doubleheader and in the third inning, the Cardinals would get the 1-0 lead on the Geraci hit by a pitch that brought the run-in. In the fourth inning, the Cardinals would expand their lead to 2-0 on the Lent sacrifice fly. In the top of the fifth, the Kangaroos would get on the board with a two rbi single by Kapfer and tie the game. The game would stay there till the sixth when the Cardinals take the lead back at 3-2 on an error. Although the Kangaroos would tie the game again in the top of the seventh on a rbi single by Kapfer. In the bottom of the seventh, the Cardinals would win the game on the walk-off walk for the 4-3 win and secure the sweep, and go to 8-6 on the season. Gallery

It would be the season opener for the Plattsburgh State Cardinals lacrosse team as they would host north country opponent the Canton Kangaroos in nonconference action on a windy afternoon at the Plattsburgh State Fieldhouse. The game would start off good for the home Cardinals as they would have a 4-2 lead after the first quarter with goals from Stephen Kane (twice), Zach Gill, and Donald Wood. In the second quarter, the Cardinals would start to take control of the game with a 4-0 quarter on goals from John Eiseman (twice), Michael Swift, and Matt Trypaluk for an 8-2 Cardinals lead at the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Cardinals firepower would be there as they would have a 7-1 quarter on goals from Stephen Kane (a third of the night), Andrew Braverman, Matt Trypaluk (second of the night), John Eiseman (a third of the game), Logan Vilardi, Gustav Rugg and Zach Gill (second of the game) and take a controlling 15-3 lead into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter, the teams would tie with three goals each, and scoring for the Cardinals would be Michael Swift (second of the night), Stephen Kane (fourth and fifth of the game) as the Cardinals get the 18-6 win. In the winning effort, Zach Gill would lead the way with seven points in the game on two goals and seven assist as the Cardinals start their season at 1-0 and will head to the road this weekend to take on the Norwich Cadets. It would be the first game of the second day of the Cardinal Classic and would feature the Potsdam State Bears and the Cobleskill Tigers. The game would start well for the Bears as they jump out to the 15-10 lead. In the second quarter, the Tigers would fight back and take the slim 24-23 lead at the half with a 14-8 quarter. When the teams came back for the second half the Tigers would stay hot as they would extend their lead to 44-38 with a 20-15 quarter. Although in the fourth quarter the Bears would catch fire with a 23-11 quarter and pull out the win at the end with a 61-55 win. In the winning effort, Xyel Bradford would lead the way with 11 points as the Bears go to 2-1 on the season. Gallery

Plattsburgh State's Payton Couture (33) takes it and lays it in as part of a game-high 16 point effort. It would be the opening game of the Cardinal Classic as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Cobleskill Tigers. The game would not start off good for the home Cardinals as they would trail 21-15 after the opening stanza. In the second quarter, the Cardinals would keep it closer but still wouldn't have an answer as the Tigers win the quarter 15-14 giving the Tigers the 36-29 lead at the intermission. When the teams came back for the third quarter the Cardinals found a way to break the Tigers defense as they win the quarter 21-9 to take a 50-45 lead into the fourth quarter. In that fourth quarter, the Cardinals offense would stay in fire winning the quarter 21-15 and securing the 71-60 victory. In the winning effort, the Cardinals would play the Norwich Cadets the second day for a chance to win the Cardinal Classic.
