That is where the game would remain until the 7:30 mark of the second period when Preston Kaye would get the tying goal on the power play to make it 1-1. Then Ephs would get two goals in just under a minute between the 8:30 and 9:30 mark from Nick Anderson and Peter Mistretta to make it 3-1 Ephs. Then with under three minutes left in the second the Ephs would get a power-play goal from Matt Doyle to make it 4-1 Ephs after two periods. Then just a 1:18 into the third period the Cardinals would start there comeback on Kevin Emmerling's goal to make it 4-2. Then with five minutes left in third Barry Roytman would score to make it 4-3 with the extra attacker. Then just a 1:19 later the comeback would be complete as Kevin Emmerling would light the lamp and send the game into overtime. In that overtime, Luke Baleshta would send the home crowd home happy with the winner when he knocked in the rebound with twenty seconds left. Plattsburgh State's Preston Kayne (22) flips the tight shot into the top of the net for the goal. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Middlebury Panthers in nonleague action. Plattsburgh State's Mark Constatine would get the scoring started int the opening minute of the game to make it 1-0 Cardinals. Then in the eighth minute of the first minute, it would be 2-0 Cardinals on Andrew Smith's goal. Then in the last 1:30, the Panthers would score to make it 2-1 after the first period. Then 3:30 into the second period the Cardinals score again on Michael Cassidy's goal to make it 3-1. Then at 15:45 of the second Max Babalan would get the first goal to make it 4-1 Cardinals. Then Jared Dockings would score on the shorthand with 2:10 remaining in the period as the Cardinals take a 5-1 lead after two periods. Then in the 13th minute of the third Max Babalan would score again to make it 6-1. The scoring would end in the 18th minute on Preston Kayne's goal. With the Cardinals would get the 7-1 win. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the #1 team in the country the Norwich Cadets. It would be a very evenly contested match that would see some very skilled defending and hard-hitting throughout. Both teams would get their chances. The lone goal in the game would come at 14:15 mark of the 2nd period when Kyle Thomas would light the lamp on the power play. Plattsburgh State's Cole Stallard (20) with the power-play goal on the rebound as part of a two-goal night. It would be the host Plattsburgh State Cardinals and Concordia Cobbers in the First Round of the Primelink Great Northern Shootout. It would not start off good for the host Cardinals as they would give up two goals in the first period and trail 2-0. In the second period, both offenses would come alive as the Cobbers would score twice and the Cardinals would get three goals two from Cole Stallard and another from Jesse Neher to make it 4-3 Cobbers after two. In the third period, both defenses would step and there would be no scoring as the Cardinals fall 4-3. In the losing effort, Brady Rouleau would stop 16 as the Cardinals fall to 3-3 on the season. The #2 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Trinity Bantams in the finals of the 14th annual Cardinal Classic at the Ronald B. Stafford Arena. The Cardinal would control the game from the drop of puck and would have a 2-0 lead after the first period before they exploded for five goals in the second period and then added a couple more in the third period for the convincing 9-0 win.
