Alex Jensen would give the Cardinals the lead back 2-1 5 minutes into the third. Then Alex Brenton would get the eventual game-winner 4 minutes later. The Skidmore Yjoroughbreeds would get the 2-0 lead before Vick Shuelter would answer back to make it 2-1 at the break. Then in the second period Nick Jensen would tie it up at 2. Then in the last 2 minutes of the period the thoroughbreds would score again to take a 3-2 lead to the intermission. Then in the third period the flood gates would open as the Cardinals would get 4 unanswered goals. It would start with Kyle Kudroch getting two goals to tie it up and game-winner. For the championship of the Cardinal Classic, it was a battle of the top 5 schools as The Plattsburgh State Cardinals took on the Castleton State Spartans. This would be a very rough game right from the drop of the puck. The game would remain scoreless until the 11-minute mark of the second period when the Spartans take the 1-0. Then with 3 minutes remaining in the period, the Cardinal tied the game up on Kyle Taylor's goal. The game would stay tied until Jake Mooney scores the game-winner with 4 minutes left in the game to give the Cardinals the Cardinal Classic title. Then to end the period the Jensen brothers would each get one to make it 4-0 after the second period. Then in the third period, Matt McCleod would put the icing on for the 5-0 win. Plattsburgh State Cardinals Jordan Caldwell (27) takes it around the corner and avoids the trip by the Amherst Lady Jeffs defender. The #4 Plattsburgh Cardinals would host #7 Amherst Lady Jeffs in the Cardinals/Panthers Classic. The game would be scoreless through the first period. Then early in the second period the Lady Jeffs would take 1-0 lead and would add another one later in the period to the 2-0 lead heading into the final period. The Lady Jeffs would take the 3-0 lead early in the 3rd period. Then Cardinals would start there come back getting two goals within 2 minutes with still 8 minutes left on the clock. The comeback would come up a goal short on this day though and they would lose 3-2 With the lose the Cardinals fall to 5-1-1 on the season. Gallery
