Dirtcar Racing Airborne Speedway: Taylor Rental Championship Night September 2nd 2023

Richie Turner (17) was crowned for the scond straight year the Hartson Total Opening Renegades champion with his fifth place finish. It would be Taylor Rental Championship Night from the Airborne Speedway to finish the 2023 racing season with the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified, Hartson Total Opening Renegades, Taylor Rental Street Stocks, and the Northern Blacktopping Limited Sportsman Modified and all the points races would still be up for grabs. The night would start off with the makeup feature for the Taylor Rental Street Stocks. The night would start off well for championship hopeful Ryan Senecal as he would start on the front row and lead all fifteen laps for the win and keep his championship alive. As for the guys leading the points, Josh Laporte would finish 2nd, Jake Fountain fifth and Matt LaValley seventh giving Laporte a slight lead as they would have their second feature to finish off the night. Then it would be onto all the heat races for the racing championship night. Then the features for the last race of the season and first up would be the traveling tour that joined us on the night the Mohawk Valley Vintage Dirt Modifieds and their four divisions would see Frank Hoard Jr., Greg Hauslin, George Palmer, Jack Miller and Nathan McFadden getting the wins. Then it would be onto the Northern Blacktopping Limited Sportsman Modified for 15 laps and getting the last win of the season in the nonpoints event would be Robert Laware for his second win of the year. Then it would be onto the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified for there 25 lap championship event and it would see Craig Wholey and Chris Cayea starting on the front row Wholey would lead the first few laps and then Chris Cayea would overtake him and try and go and hide out there. He would have a challenge though as Josh Jock and his second-half-season surge would continue but Cayea would get the win. Although Travis Bruno would finish in seventh and Joey Scarbrough fifth giving Travis Bruno his third straight track championship. Then it would be onto the Hartson Total Opening Renegades. It would see Tyler Irwin getting the lead at the start of the race but Josh Terry would come charging hard from his seventh-place start to get up there and battle with Irwin for the win knowing he pretty much needed to win to get the title. Richir Turner would start in fifth and fall back off the start to tenth and then just start working his way back up and get a fifth-place finish and clinch his second straight championship title. Then there would be one race left on the season at Airborne Speedway and that would be the Taylor Rental Street Stock for 15 laps with 32 cars starting the race every spot would be important and there would be 8 cautions throughout the night. Speedy Bressette would charge from his seventh-place starting spot to get the eventual win with Ryan Senecal second and Rick Doner third, As for the championship we would have co-champions when it was all said and done with Josh Laporte and Ryan Senecal champions with their 9th and 21st place finish on the night and that will put a wrap on the 2023 season at the Airborne Speedway. Travis Bruno (33r) was crowned a three-time straight champion in the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified with his seventh-place finish. It would be Taylor Rental Championship Night from the Airborne Speedway to finish the 2023 racing season with the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified, Hartson Total Opening Renegades, Taylor Rental Street Stocks, and the Northern Blacktopping Limited Sportsman Modified and all the points races would still be up for grabs. Tylor Terry (44) and Billy Thwaits (69) battle it out for the last checkered flag of the year in the Renegade division and Tylor Terry would take win number four of the season. It would be the final round of the 2022 racing season at the Airborne Speedway and be presented by Unifrist and the Mohawk Valley Vintage Dirt Modifieds would be on hand as well. The night would start with all the cars in the pits coming out on the track and taking part in a four wide salute to the fans thanking them for there attendance throughout the 2022 racing season. First up on the night would be the first of two features on the night for the Mohawk Valley Vintage Dirt Modified and the win would go to Justin Perry after Tim Hagerty had a full straightaway lead on the last lap and the car just dies. Then it would be onto the heat races for the regular divisions at the track and first up would be the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified and the winners would be Jason Bruno and Bucko Branham. Then next up would be the Hartson Total Opening Renegades with there two heats and the winners would be Cody Agoney and Jim McKerrian. Then we would have the Northern Blacktopping Limited Sportsman Modified for there heat and the win would go to Scott Fitzgerald. Then to finish off the heat races on the night it would be the Taylor Rental 4 Cylinders with there three heats and the winners would be Kenny Tourville, Josh LaPorte and Jake Fountain. Then it would be onto the second half of the races on the night and it would start with the second feature of the Mohawk Valley Vintage Dirt Modified and the win would go to Randy Delaney. Then we would be onto the Hartson Total Opening Renegades Main and the points championship would come down to Richie Turner and Nathaniel Guay and by Richie Turner getting a third place on the night he would be crowned the 2022 Hartson Total Opening Renegades champion while Tylor Terry would come across and get his fourth win of the season take the bragging rights into the off season of getting the last win of the season. Then next up would be the Northern Blacktopping Limited Sportsman Modified for there 15 lap event and Scott Fitzgerald would get the spoiling Cody O'Brien's to go back to back in the division. Then it would be onto the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified main and there title would come down to a three person battle between Jamy Begor Travis Bruno and Codie Aubin. Begor would go out there knowing he needed some help to win the championship and he did everything in his power to win the title as he would come up from his 9th place starting position and win the race that went 25 laps caution free but by Travis Bruno taking home a third place he would hold on for a 14 point win and be crowned a two time defending champion of the J+S Steel Sportsman Modified. Then it would be the final race of the 2022 Airborne Speedway season as the Taylor Rental 4 Cylinders would hit to the track for there 20 lap race with the championship being decided last week it would be all for pride on the line and the race would be caution free and see Kenny Tourville getting the last race of the season. Now its time for the teams to put the cars away for the season and wait on the banquet and then till we all get together again next year for the 2023 edition of the Airborne Speedway. Gallery
