ECAC West Women's Hockey #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs Cortland State Red Dragons February 6th 2016

Plattsburgh State's Camille Leonard (32) with the glove save on the low shot as part of a ten save night. The #1 ranked Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Cortland State Red Dragons in ECAC West action. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would get the lone goal in the first period on Kayla Meneghin's short-handed goal at the 4:32 mark. The game would stay there until the 6:09 mark of the second period when Karen Hudson would score to make it 2-0. Then the Cardinals would end the second period with a couple of power-play goals from Courtney Molarity and Jordan Lipson to make it 4-0 after the second period. The Red Dragons would get on the board at 2:28 of the third period to make it 4-1. Then at 6:02 of the third period, the Cardinals would regain the four-goal lead on a power-play goal by Melissa Ames. Then to finish out the scoring the Cardinals would get a pair of goals in under a minute from Ashley Songin and Courtney Molarity (second of the night) to secure the 7-1 victory. In the winning effort would make 10 stops as the Cardinals go to 21-0 on the season. Gallery

SUNYAC Men's Hockey #2 Plattsburgh State Cardinals Vs Oswego State Lakers February 5 2015

Plattsburgh State's Kevin Emmerling (25) drops to a knee as he takes the close shot on net. The #3 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host arch-rival Oswego State Lakers in SUNYAC action. The Cardinals take the lead early at 4:33 of the first period on Kyle Hall's goal to make it 1-0. Oswego would answer right back thirty seconds later to tie the game up at one. Then in the last five minutes of the first, the Cardinals would retake the lead at 2-1 on Conor Gorman's goal. Oswego would come back and tie the game up back up at 11:54 of the second. The game would remain there until the early minutes of the third when Oswego would take the 3-2 lead. The game would stay there till about two minutes left in the game when the Cardinals would tie it up on a 4x4 goal by Anthony Calabrese. The game would go to overtime where Connor Gorman would get the game-winner with 2 seconds left to secure the 4-3 victory. In the winning effort, Spencer Finney would make 27 saves on the night as the Cardinals go to 17-3-1 on the season. Gallery

It would not be a very good day for the Cardinals. In the first game, the Red Dragons would score multiple runs in seven of the nine innings. The best inning for the Cardinals would be the ninth when they would score four runs in the inning. With that being said the Red Dragons would cruise to the 25-8 victory in game one of the doubleheader. In the second game of the doubleheader the Red Dragons would get one in the first, three in the second, and one in the sixth and seventh to secure the 6-0 win. With the Cardinals getting sweep they would fall to 12-19 on the season. Gallery

It would be the Plattsburgh State Cardinals and the #1 Cortland State Red Dragons in the last of a three-game set. It would not be another good day on the field for the Cardinals. They would actually get the 1-0 lead in the first inning. The lead would last till the fourth inning when the Red Dragons would explode with six runs and take a 6-1 lead. They would add one in the fifth and two in the ninth to secure the 9-1 victory. With the loss the Cardinals would get a sweep on the weekend and drop to 12-20 on the season. Gallery

It would be a battle of SUNYAC Conference foes as the Plattsburgh State Cardinals would meet up with the Cortland State Red Dragons at Memorial Hall. The game would be tight all the way throughout the game. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would have the offense working in the first half as they would have the 28-24 lead at the break. In the second half, it would be flipped and the Dragons would win the half 31-27 to force overtime with game locked at 55. In the extra minutes the Red Dragons would be too much for the Cardinals as they win it 13-10 and get the 68-65 victory. In the losing effort, Reggie Williams would lead all scorers with a game-high 22 points as the Cardinals fall to 9-4 on the season. Gallery
