Clarkson's Zach Tsekos (17) gets the shot off as he is falling to the ice with the Princeton defenders on his hip. The #7 Clarkson Golden Knights would host the Princeton Tigers at the Cheel Arena in ECAC Hockey in front of just over 2100 fans in a rematch of the 2018 ECAC Championship. The home Golden Knights would get the opening goal of the game on the powerplay from Haralds Egle at the 9:39 mark of the first period. The game would stay right there till inside the final three minutes of the second period when the Tigers would tie the game at 1 on a goal by Liam Grande. The Golden Knights would keep fighting and take the lead back at the nine minute mark of the third period on the Adam Tisdale goal to make it 2-1. From there the Golden Knights defense would step up and they would hold on for the 2-1 victory. In the winning effort Frank Marotte would make 23 saves as they go to 14-4-2 and will look to finish off the weekend sleep against the Quinnipac Bobcats. Gallery.

Clarkson's Grant Cooper (26) after the loose puck in front of the net as they scramble for the tying goal. The #4 Clarkson Golden Knights would host the R.P.I. Engineers at the Cheel Arena for there first game of 2020 and since December 14th and come right back into conference play. The Engineers would jump out to a quick 1-0 lead as Simon Kjellberg would score 1:23 into the game and make it 1-0. The game would stay there all the way to the third period when the Engineers would double up there lead on the Ture Linden goal to make it 2-0 Engineers. The Golden Knights would get on the board with just over five minutes left in the game with a Mathieu Gosselin goal to make it 2-1. Although they would not be able to get the equalizer and the Engineers would get an empty-net goal in the final minute from Will Reilly to secure the 3-1 win for the Engineers. In the losing effort, Frank Marotte would make 23 saves as the Golden Knights fall to 13-4-2. The Golden Knights will be back in action at home next weekend as they host the Princeton Tigers and Quinnipac Bobcats. Gallery

Clarkson Golden Knights @ Plattsburgh State Cardinals - NCAA Division III Men's Basketball - Janaury 4th 2020

Plattsburgh State's Axel Rodriquez (2) rises up and over the Clarkson defender as he charges to the basket as part of a five-point night. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would open up the 2020 portion of there season with a nonconference battle against fellow North Country foe the Clarkson Golden Knights. It would be a game that you could tell both teams were coming off the holiday break as they would have spurts on the really good play and then some not so good play. The Cardinals and Golden Knights would keep it close throughout the first half and the Cardinals would have a slim 37-33 lead at the break. As the teams came back for the second half and it would actually be even half as the Cardinals would win the half 34-32 and secure the win at 71-65. In the winning effort, the Cardinals would get back to 500 at 4-4 and Nick DeAngelis would lead the way with 25 points. Gallery.

St. Lawrence Saints @ #5 Clarkson Golden Knights - ECAC Men's Hockey - December 7th 2019

It would be the next installment of the Route 11 rivalry as the Clarkson Golden Knights would host the St. Lawerence Saints. The game would start off good for the home team as Clarkson's Connor McCarthy would light the lamp at the 12:08 mark of the first period for the powerplay goal. The game would stay there til over midway through the second period when the Saints Jake Stevens would tie it up on the powerplay at the 13:26 mark. Although it would short-lived for the tie as Clarkson's Harald Egle would score on the powerplay 30 seconds later to regain the one-goal lead at 2-1. In the third, the period the Golden Knights would extend there lead to 3-1 on Connor McCarthy's second powerplay goal of the night and secure the 3-1 victory. In the winning effort, the Golden Knights go to 11-3-1 on the season while Connor McCarthy would have two goals and Frank Marotte would make 24 saves on the night. Next up for the Golden Knights is a trip next weekend to Huntingdon, Michigan for two games with Michigan Tech. Gallery

#3 Cornell Big Red @ #7 Clarkson Golden Knights - ECAC Men's Hockey - November 15th 2019

Clarkson's Connor McCarthy (2) with sniper over the pad for the goal. It would be a rematch of last years ECAC Championship as the #7 Clarkson Golden Knights host the #3 Cornell Big Red in a early season tilt in front of 2900 fans. The teams would be evenly matched throughout the game as the first goal would come at the 11:15 mark when Travis Mitchell would give the Big Red the 1-0 lead. Just two minutes later the Big Red would strike again to double the lead at 2-0 on the Jeff Mallott goal. Then at the fifteen minute mark of the second period the Knights would get on the board and cut the deficit in half on the Connor McCrarthy powerplay goal. Then with just under two minutes Clarkson's Devin Brosseau would get the game tying goal. The Big Red would retake the lead at 3-2 halfway through the third period on the Cam Donaldson goal. Then in the final couple minutes the Big Red would get the empty netter to secure the 4-2 victory. In the winning effort the Cornell Big Red go to 5-0 while Golden Knights go to 7-3-1 on the season. Vermont Catamounts @ #10 Clarkson Golden Knights - NCAA Men's Hockey - October 18th 2019

Vermont's Stefanos Lekkas (40) with the stick save on Clarkson's Anthony Callin (44) crossing in front. It would be the Clarkson Golden Knights hosting the Vermont Catamounts in the home opener at Cheel arena. The game would would take a while to get going as the game would still be scoreless after the first period. The Golden Knights would take the 1-0 lead 6:43 into second period when Zach Tsekos would score on the power play to make it 1-0. The Catamounts would fight there way back and tie the game up at 1 at the 12 minute mark of the period on the Joey Cipollone goal. We would go to the third tied but the Catamounts would take the lead 2-1 quickly into the period on the Christian Evers goal. The Golden Knights would give up though as they would tie the game up at the ten minute mark when Zach Tsekos gets his second of the night. The Golden Knights would regain the lead 3-2 on Zach Tsekos third goal of the night. From there the Golden Knights would hold on for the win. In the winning effort Frank Marotte would make 31 saves as the Golden Knights go to 2-0-1 while the Catamounts fall to 0-1. Gallery

#2 Cornell Big Red Vs #3 Clarkson Golden Knights - ECAC Championships Finals - March 23rd 2019

Clarkson's Chris Klack (8) with the rebound off the Cornell goalie for the championship winner. The 2019 ECAC Hockey Championships Finals would come down to #2 Cornell Big Red and the #3 Clarkson Golden Knights and also would be a pair of top ten teams in the country vying for the conference automatic bid into the NCAA Championship at the Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid in front of 5700 fans. The Big Red would get the important first goal of the game from Noah Bauld at the 7:29 mark of the first period. Although in a matter four minutes between period the twelve and sixteen minute mark of the first period Devin Brosseau would get two powerplay goals and give the Golden Knights a 2-1 lead after the first period. The game would remain there for the longest time as both teams were very evenly matched. Although with just under six minutes left in the game the Big Red tie the game up on the Tristan Mullin goal and would be enough to send the game to overtime. In that overtime period it was starting to look like we might be heading for a second overtime until Chris Klack would knock in the rebound and give the Clarkson Golden Knights 2019 ECAC Championship for the first time sense 2007. In the winning effort Jake Keilly would make 29 saves as the Clarkson Golden Knights head to the NCAA Tournament. Gallery

#3 Clarkson Golden Knights Vs #4 Harvard Crimson - ECAC Championships Semi-Finals - March 22nd 2019

The #3 Clarkson Golden Knights would meet up with the #4 Harvard Crimson in the semi-finals of the ECAC Championships demi-finals at the Herb Brooks Arena in front of 4800 people, The Golden Knights would open up the scoring just 2:30 into the game on the Haralds Eagle goal. Then just over three minutes later the Knights would extend there lead to 2-0 on the Anthony Callin goal. The game would stay there till the thirteen minute mark when the Golden Knights would score again this time from Nicco Strum for the 3-0 lead. The Crimson would answer right back a minute later on the Adam Fox goal to make it 3-1. Then just over a minute into the third period Harvard's Jack Rathbone would score to make it a 3-2. Although the Golden Knights were having nothing of it as they scored twice from Jack Jacome and Jordan Schneider to secure the 5-2 victory. In the winning effort Jake Keily would make 26 saves as the Golden Knights advance to the finals of the ECAC Championship against the #2 Cornell Big Red. Gallery
