The game would remain there until the last minute of the game when the eagles would add an empty netter from Hunter Laslo to secure the 2-0 win for the Golden Eagles. In the losing effort, Joshua Davies would make 24 saves as the Cardinals fall to 5-5 on the season.Gallery.

The game would remain scoreless until the 1:59 mark of the second period when Plattsburgh State's Kyle Hall would give the Cardinals the 1-0 lead. The Eagles would soar back with two-goal in a three-minute span Adian Verbeke to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead. The Cardinals would come back and tie the game up at 17:09 on Chris Taff's goal to make it 2-2. The Cardinals would regain the lead at 3-2 on the Dillan Fox goal. The Eagles would come back again and tie it at three on a Zack Slichick goal. They would go to overtime but there would be no change and the game would end in a three-all tie. The #2 Plattsburgh State Cardinals would play host to the Brockport State Golden Eagles. Plattsburgh State's Kyle Hall (10) looks to put it in on the doorstep. It would be the semi-finals of the SUNYAC Hockey Tournament and it would feature the #1 Plattsburgh State Cardinals and the #6 Brockport State Golden Eagles for the right to go to the finals. It would be a game that would turn into a goal-fest. As the Cardinals would have a 4-1 lead after the first period on goals from Connor Toomey (twice) along with Dillan Fox and Mark Constatine getting the goal for the Eagles would be Bobby Chayka. The second period would belong to the Eagles as they would get three goals from Bobby Chayka (twice) and Troy Polino to tie the game at four. In the final period, the Cardinals would outscore the Eagles 3-1 with goals from Mark Constatine, Connor Gorman, and Michael Cassidy, and getting the lone goal for the Eagles would be Chris Luker as the Cardinals get the 7-5 victory. The Cardinals would answer with the first goal of the night at the 10:30 mark on Connor Gorman's goal. The Cardinals would extend the lead to 2-0 on Connor Gorman's second goal of the night at 13:56. Then at the 15:34 mark of James Ryan would score on the power play for the Eagles to make it 2-1. Then at the 17:11 mark of the period, the Cardinals would go back up by 2 as Connor Gorman would finish off the natural hat trick and make it 3-1. Then at the 18:44 mark of the period, Alex Brenton would score on the power play to make it 4-1 after the first period. In the second period, the Eagles would get the lone goal at 10:48 on the power play from James Ryan for the second of the night. Then at the 12:38 mark of the third period, James Ryan would finish off the hat trick on the power play to make it 4-3. Plattsburgh State's Tom Duggan (5) leans into to Brockport State's defender on his drive to the net for one of three goals on the day. The Plattsburgh State Cardinals would host the Brockport State Golden Eagles in the Semi-Finals of the SUNYAC Championship in the program's first very home playoff game. The Cardinals would not show any nerves they would get off a quick 4-2 lead after the first quarter with goals going to Tim Lawrence (twice), James Reed, and Nick Travers. The Cardinals would keep the foot on the accelerator as they would take 7-3 lead into the break on goals from Joey Kramer (twice) and Tim Lawrence (third of the day). In the third, the Eagles would try there best to get back in the game scoring four goals. Although the Cardinals would answer there four with a five to take a 12-7 lead into the fourth with goals going to Tom Duggan (three times), Anthony Pafundi, and Joey Kramer (third of the day). In the fourth quarter, the Cardinals would finish off there 15-7 victory with goals from Tim Lawrence (fourth) Joey Kramer (fourth) and Nick Perrella. In the winning effort, Gordie Gehring would stop 10 shots. With the win, the Cardinals move into there first-ever SUNYAC Championship as they will travel to Cortland to take on the undefeated Red Dragons with the automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament on the line.
